Great video! I feel the same way as you. I do all the work on my bikes as well. I just recently finished installing a complete stage 1 and 2 on my 2021 CVO RG and it’s complete satisfaction knowing I did it my self. Keep pumping out the great videos!
Wow I love what you keep doing to your Road Glide you pick the best stuff right out of the gate and what you do to it looks great and works great can't wait to see the numbers on your new build
I want to do this so bad. My garage is a 7 x 12 cargo trailer. I'm afraid I'm going to start this and it will be a big ole mess. Man, this is a tough decision. Great work though and thank you for sharing your build. I love your channel
My barn is a packed 10ft by 10ft. No work bench. I have the tools. But decided to have a local harley dealership do the build. Was quoted $1,800 to $2,000 including dyno tune. I'm paying extra for fuild changes. Bike currently had a 57 mm aluminum intake added, S&S 475 cam. S&S cam chest kit, billet lifter cuffs, quickie pushrods. S&S Sidewinder exhaust 4.5 inch muffler. Dynoed at 104 hp 113 torque. Great improvement from 3,000 to 5,000 rpm. BUT!!!! Now installing 129 kit. Carrillo 10.8 pistons, fuel Moto Stage A heads. With .588 springs. S&S Roller rockers with stud kit. HPI 62MM billet throttle body and intake manifold, And decided with A S&S 550 cam upgrade. With a Thunder Max tuner and 5.5 lb injectors. I have 6.2 injectors for later if desired. I'm hoping for 140 plus horsepower and 145 torque.
I also just installed the FM 128 kit and it flys. I went 11:1 and SS 550 cam just got done with the dyno yesterday and man it screams. I garage built it myself with some help from BoB at FM
Recently went with 485 30 30 star racing cam, all the stage 2 goodies to support it, power vision tune and full exhaust with dual 4.5 kromeworks on my 23 RG 107... Havent had any stock 114 or 117 beat it yet but did get my ass handed to me by a stage 4 117 moonshine build .... Im not looking to go any faster than she is now, absolutely terrifying when clutch dumped at 3 grand.... 3rd gear wheelies no problem and carries it into 4th if im acting stupid.. Still learning shift points and new clutch springs really woke it up... So glad i bought the standard and modded it into the bike i wanted... Yall should check out the Galfer rotors front and rear, she stops way better than stock Harley brakes..🤙
You should invest in Paul yaffe touchless tie downs. They go where your tank bolts so you can tow without having to worry about it or taping. Look forward to seeing your numbers
Good for you brother!! Fuel Moto rocks!! Just a few suggestions. 1. CHANGE the rocker bolts to fueling stud kit. Those stock bolts suck. I had one back out after my 128 kit install and broke. S&S oil pump as well. Then all you have left is ported and polished heads. I absolutely love my bike. Fuel Moto helped me pick out everything I needed to make the best string engine.
Surprised you stayed with the same cam. But will be interested to see your numbers. Also you might to upgrade your clutch basket. The stock ones are not the best, that will be your weak spot. But the bike sounds sweet and I am sure you will get many miles and smiles on it.
use low air pressure to blow the oil out of the lines and heads back into the oil tank. Like it says in the service manual. then you will only get a few drips.
Gotta love the big bore on the RGS…Hey got a couple peeps for you to connect with. Great vids, badass bikes, check out Cycle-Fanatix and his buddy Holy Shift… good stuff, and he’s whooped up his RGS too. Good guys!
Did you change out the stock Harley oil pump ? I have a 2020 SGS and Harley said the fixed the oil pump problems in 2019 which is your bike. I wasn't so sure so I installed the Feuling pump camplate and lifters. With all that money going into your bike put a inverted front end. Nice video very informative
would be a really good idea to swap out the stock compensator with a man of war can handle the power alot better and is actually serviceable unlike the stock ones
Killer video man! You mentioned a ton of great things that helps with this build. I have everything ordered for this same kit but my only concern is setting the ring gap on the pistons.. any advice?
Depends. Compression ratio...max rpms going to be used, I had mine raised to 6500 rpm. But haven't revealed that high yet....YET!!!! Cooling capacity of your motor will matter also!!!! Hence the added thunder max oil cooler fan set at 195f. Face it if you ride in the hot summer, alot of hill climbing, second rider on back with your road gear, you'll want extra cooling capacity. I'd check with at least five professional engine builders first. I'm not a professional by far. I actually wanted to install a non counter balancing shaft dark horse or S&S crank inches motor with a Timken bearing conversion on the Stator side only, and Carillo rods and a crank oil scraper. That would of run at least another $7,800 in parts and labor. We can throw hop up parts in any motor for performance. But I prefer adding quality other parts in as well for a solid long life motor. I'm not a stop light to stop light drag racer....well 99 percent of the time. That tears up the drivetrain. I'm more of a sport touring rider. Cruiser on the highway. 3,000 to 3,500rpm. But like the surge of torque coming on when desired.
What phone mount are you running now? The one you're running in this video is different from the one in the fxr installation video. Why did you switch? Did it not fit on the fxr bars? I'm asking because I just installed the same bars and I'm looking for a phone mount.
Just a heads up, Moonshine is offering a transmission upgrade for big hp motors. Keep the oem Harley tranny but shimming 3rd gear. They don’t recommend a lockup, check out ther RUclips vid.
I received several maps from fuel moto for my stage2. All received maps totally made mike bike run bad. Very had to find a tuner in my area and that got I gave two bikes. Finally have an appointment to get my biked tuned later this month. Using a provided fuel map from anyone other than Harley is risky
I did a 128 big bore from fuel moto getting those c clips on the pistons is real fun plus have holes in my fingers lol All the tools I found don't work with forged pistons
Great video, something that’s been on mind as we pretty much have the same year bike with similar performance mods (minus the BB kit for me for now) is that when I saw your piston tops was the burned up oil or carbon buildup. And the thinking is it’s because of the blow by oil mist. I have the A-1 vent dip stick cap but I’m thinking of getting an external breather system with a catch can. Have you thought about that? I’m trying to find a clean setup and it looks like Trask is the nicest one but it’s pricey. I also, like there transmission cover too
Have you looked into the DK Customs EBS? If so, what are your thoughts? They seem like great quality and price but not much info on them from RUclipsrs.
Yes. I added the vented dipstick. I ran the 3/8 hose to above the engine along the frame with a breather filter. I'm also outside venting the crank case head bolts.
I’m doing the same to my road glide but I bought the 128 and the new 55 mm throttle body from S&S and 64 injectors . Just a thought I have the opportunity to get the 132 from S&S before I do this would you change if you had the opportunity. Chuck

@HOLMESLAMONT don't know. YET....I'm a long haul trucker...still need to break in the motor PROPERLY (500 miles) with more riding and heat cycles. Then off to the dyno for final tuning and power numbers. Dyno break in Hatley motors from the start? Not a goid thing. Will it break in faster? Yes!!! But I want a motor that will last.

Oh hell yeah...rocking the 114-to-128 big bore kit; Good video. Nice Intake Manifold/Throttle Body. Interested to see the numbers and curves from the Dyno with the S&S 475 cam and stock heads, and your review on how she rides/performs. Yep...I can see you doing a bigger cam and heads next year? Dyno numbers with the 475 stage 2 were 104 hp, 113 torque. The big bore stage 4 build now has a 550 cam!!! And fuel moto stage A heads. It was suggested to gain head velocity verses mass flow. Ports are stock besides the pocket porting from the vale seats to 1 inch into the throats, and multiple angle valve seat gring with .580 springs. The 1.64 S&S roller rockers add lift as well as prevent side load on the valve stems and add more cooling especially on the exhaust valves due to the oil holes spraying directly onto the valves.
@loydhelmick9682 well, so far, breaking it in....only 125 miles so far. I was doing 55mph in 3rd gear getting on the highway, open it to 2/3 throttle and at 4500 the back tire lost traction. Scary but cool at the same time, feeling the rear kick out to the left. Maybe dyno tuning will smooth it out. Or get a stickier rear tire!!! Yes the road was bone dry. Guess the 6.1 injectors were a good decision over the 5.5 injectors I was going to install. In the rain? I would of crapped my pants😜
Hey when you did the build did you clean up the heads before putting it back together? I'm in the middle of doing my engine but I'm changing the valve springs. I took the valves out and cleaned them up good then did the seats and whatever I can get for the carbon off. I'm wondering if I should lap the valves. There's no pits on them but I'm just trying not to mess anything up. What's your opinion?
Stage 2 left the stock heads on. But stage 4 I sent them to fuel motto for a Stage A pocket porting, 580 springs multiple angle valve seat grind, and decked the heads. It was suggested to go for velocity verses mass flow. I also upped the cam to a 550. And 6.1 injectors. The HPI throttle body and intake are 62mm. They out flow screaming eagles 64mm.
