Ever since I saw them in Vietnam I reckon they are one of the classic aircraft. There was something about watching a bird dog come in and fire a rocket or two and then looking up and seeing a pair of Phantoms circling before they came down on the target unleashing a canister of napalm or bomb load.

Beautiful aircraft. The F4 is one of my favorite jets along with the Mig 29. Nice flight and great landing.
I really love this rc jet I hope some day to have a rc jet like this but it would be a tomcat f14 enything with the same style sound and speed like the real f4 phantom and the f14 tomcat but it’s gonna take a long time to save up for

It's the sundowners squadron
It's not the US Air Force, it's the US Navy. This aircraft is from a squadron formed in WW2 called "The Sundowners". The reason they called themselves The Sundowners is because they were headed to the Pacific to shoot down aircraft of the Empire of Japan, which they did with great success. That artwork on the tail is symbolic of them shooting down the rising sun. Please at least know what it means before you have a fit about it.
