that has to be one of the finest studio spaces ive ever seen. such an amazing collection of gear, all those records and not a cable in sight.. you are living the dream.
It's crazy that you have a physical copy of Centre of Attention by InI, that's probably within the top 10 hiphop records of all time, and it never even officially released!
I'm from Philadelphia in the US, and I'm always amazed at how far Hip Hop has reached all over the world. @MAARTIN keep doing what you are doing bruh!!!!!
NevEd wasnt my point but that’s cool to know. really if it’s about how cheap it is then I’d get 100. It’s about him finding his piece and knowing damn well he’s gonna use the f out of it enough to buy a spare in advance.
So now we now where you got your love for music, from your grandparents and their shop. You have a dope studio bro with some classic AKAI gear. Keep up the good work man can't wait for more videos. All the best
incredible that you started 2009 just to walk all the way back into time to bring back the golden age sound! i´ve witnessed all these year and the machines - respect - phenomenal nostalgic journey through time!!
Damn dude, your room is Hip Hop to the fullest. I love it. Also went to your soundcloud to peep your beats. Bro, you got it. Shit is absolutely phenomenal. Much love from germany !
Man you really did make an episode sorta like what we were talking about, this is so dope. I can't believe you had that brothers of the mind stop scheming 12 inch. I love the beatminerz remix they had. Your record collection and gears puts mine to shame lol, I need to get back to the beats. I need that Titanic break 😂
6:10 this is amazing man! That’s so dope dude! That picture on its own I wouldn’t blame you to frame if it, even if it had no relevant meaning but it being your grandfathers in a golden time of music is just more incredible!
Respect! I miss my fully loaded MPC60II had the scsi upgrade and 3.10 software. You don't lie when you say you can't make a bad beat on it. Now you got me looking on Reverb to see if I can get one again.
I dig you taste, man! After watching a video of Dilla's friends go through his record collection in storage and pulling up a bunch of Weather Report, I got intrigued and also started buying everything of theirs I could find. Doing the same with Osibisa as well! Thanks for that Larry Page recommendation. Crazy record! And cus none of my friends care/know who he is, I figure I'd share this story here: I got to meet Masta Ace and get a record signed. Really cool moment to tell him how awesome his work is.
I know what video you are talking about, also seen it before! Love watching videos about record collections, and that's why I made this one. And Masta Ace is also one of my favorites! Legendary MC that still keeps it real, hope I can also meet him one day! Peace 👊
Osibisa( Oh-see-ba-sah) is African /Jazz fusion really good music. I'm glad to see you listen to any and everything. The Album with the flying elephants (Roger Dean) inspired my artwork and buying his books. Thanks for the idea for the record shelves(Ikea). My Daughters friend owns an apartment complex and someone left a sh*t load of albums.
Bro you have a 🔥 studio! Mad humble even though you're pushing serious gear and great records. Thanks for the awesome video which gives us listener's and fellow artists a greater insight into what you work with. Keep up the great work as it's felt for def. Respect from the UK. 👊🏻
This video just popped up in my suggested. Dope studio! Dope beats!! It makes me happy seeing records own in videos. Validates my music tastes. Haha! Great work.
Great Video! I saw Jasper a few Times live in the 90th, heś a GREAT Bandleader.Sweet smoke Just a poke is a Fantastic record also the Weather Report Albums. You got Great gear and a fine record collection . I enjoyed watching✊🏼🙏🏾
That’s a pretty nice record collection. I got about the same amount of records. Been collecting them for 20 years. I always listened to them for samples with portable record player. I always tell my self one day I’m gonna make a song...lol which brings me to my next comments, I like that your using vintage gear instead of the new stuff. I really like the MPC60-2.
@@saucehollywood I hear ya on that. I guess I’ve been too wrapped up in learning all the instruments and software to where I’m comfortable to do it. I’m a very slow learner, but I recently figured out how to use the Digitakt and a lot of its features. So sampling has started.
I started making beats in 2010, since your mpc 500 vids showed me that it's possible the get a affordable start. Now I'm rocking 2kxl and and E-mu rack samplers everday enjoying it. Thank you and big up!
Jeez I thought I had a good grasp of underground 90s hiphop , but I hadn't heard of half the artists you mentioned...this was a really interesting video, thoroughly enjoyed it!
Wow just found your video randomly. Nice collection and I can feel your passion for jazz records. I too have a lot of the Klemmer stuff, CTI, Mainstream, ECM, Enja, Weather Report, Hancock, etc. Been at it since about 1987 when I bought Ryuichi Sakamoto's 1000 Knives on import. The Jasper Van't Hof stuff is real nice... got a few library records from Brull, well it goes on and on... you have way more records than me though... think I'm at about 600-700.. I bought an Akai MPC Live with the purpose of incorporating it with my piano (Yamaha C3x grand) and rhodes/moog/Arp/Oberheim gear... really love your vibe on this and know what you mean about not meaning to be a braggy thing because I feel I have just bragged about having a load of gear in this comment... ;)
Thanks man! It's for people like you I made this video, so it means a lot hearing that you like it! And you have been collecting longer than I am alive lol, I'm from 92. You made me jealous of that Rhodes too haha, I hope to get one myself one day. Just love that smooth sound!! Peace 👊✌
I like the studio and way he keeps his vinyl...I used to be able to control the organization and then thousands later,I just lost track...I love my samplers as well...
I know what you mean, I have to do my best as well to keep it like this. That's why I have that shelf with "new" records, when I'm too lazy to put them in a correct order, they end up there lol
I doesn't matter what you use, as long as you have fun. I just started collecting this stuff because I really like using it and enjoy finding out how to use it. Peace!
MAARTN it’s definitely cool as shit. I went through a phase when I wanted to do it all with hardware. Spent a ton of money only to find out my beats sound 10x better using a daw and a bunch of plugins
SP-404 is dope. Nothing wrong with that just ask Madlib, Dibia$e, Ras G (rip) etc. I use a maschine and an M32 keyboard because they work for me. But I've used an SP-303 (which I still f with) an MPC and others and each has a lot to love and amazing music can be made with any of them. Just use the one that works for you.
Good stuff man. I'm huge into sampling but have never owned an MPC somehow. I want one of those little mpc500s just to look cute in my studio. Maybe take outside with some lofi gear.
Mate you’ve got some absolutely top tier gear. It’s nice to see that you started from humble beginnings with the MPC500 😂
this is so badass man ! love the part you included about your grandparents shop .
Glad you liked it, it was fun to talk about it for once. Peace yo ✌
GHATS Yes I agree, I really enjoyed this video...and the beats are soooo ill!
