Amongst the trend of massive bookshelves backdrops and “can’t stop buying books” videos this makes so much sense and it’s so refreshing! Everything is a balance: you can buy books, swap books, find books, get books, borrow books… 🙏 Thank you for a great and different video! ❤
agree !! i sometimes watch these videos and almost cringe in the overconsumption of buying these books in masses, especially when there's so many more ways to read sustainably! thanks mariana for your kind words, glad you liked the vid (:
in India, we have weekly Sunday book markets where (mostly)second hand books are sold at really cheap prices and if you have a good eye, you can get some amazing steals for less than 200 rupees (which is around 1.8 pounds). excited for you to read one hundred years!
Yayy Hot Milk! :D The fact that you'll actually be in spain is just perfect for that book ♡ I've actually also been wanting to read more didion. I've read on self-respect recently and found it quite eye-opening
i can't wait to read it! and same, i've been holding off reading her work for a while because i feel like as soon as i read one of her books i'll want to devour her whole collection!
Dutch charity shops unfortunately rarely have anything i'm looking for, but Vinted has been a lifesaver! I've found a lot of used books on my tbr for at least half the retail price. We also have a Dutch book week, where you get a free book, around 100 pages (written by a well-known author, specifically written for that week) with spending €15 on a book!
omg my friends tell me about cheap books on vinted - i'm scared to even open the app as i feel like i'd buy 1000 books immediately !! and LOVE the sound of dutch book week, they def need that in the UK!

My lactose intolerance is QUAKING after all these milk-themed books haha! Thanks for the tips though! So good 🤩
looool, so bizarre for one book to have 'milk' in the title let alone two !!
You mentioned loving survival stories, have you read Endurance by Alfred Lansing? It's one of my favorites.
