❤flashbacks of PRINCE early DAYS I'M HAVING A M-I-N-D-B-L-O-W-I-N-G EXPERIENCE WITH PRINCE 💜🎶 THANKS FOR THIS FOOTAGE THEY ALL WORKED SO WELL WITH EACH OTHER ENCOURAGED AND ENGAGED WITH PRINCE 💜🎶👏🏽
I'm so surprised in the song Mutiny. He does this breakdown/ Jam session version of the song Dream Factory, making this as far I'm aware the only live version of the track. Crazy crazy
And people say Wendy isn’t an amazing guitarist!!! She played the hell out of this solo for Alexa De Paris!! Plus Alexa is the precursor to Cream as it has the bass and drum elements towards the end
I tell you what, he got me on that "wooden leg" sxxt. He did. And the "free bird" Skynrd. I can't help but laugh, every time I hear/see it. But not the freebird. See how he was to me. This one, video, too.😔 I'm so lucky, to have seen this. U just don't know🥲. How,..much, this was needed. And the wonders of the need. TY❤❤ is a mere gesture to say.
Very interesting concert - feels like a transition show from ATWIAD to Parade. I can see the skeleton of the Parde shows (Detroit 86 Birthday Show) but this show is more relaxed with some interesting song choices. Paisely Park & Alexa De Paris in particular. I must admit though, I can see why the Revolution were frustrated with all the other people on stage - while I like it, they must have felt slighted after their cameos and importance to the Purple Rain explosion.
First Avenue was his second home and in front of the hometown folks… he was in his comfort zone. I’ve often thought the same, adding the others who literally contributed nothing musically - just took up space on the stage. Just hangers on. The Prince version of having several Yoko Ono’s ruining the vibe and ruining a historic band. I completely understand why some in the band got frustrated. My take is - years later realized he made a mistake which is why he reconnected with them from time to time. Was great while it lasted.
This was when he, although still brilliant in the studio, started getting kind of corny to me live. After he became a bonafide superstar from “Purple Rain”, he lost that edge he’d had live prior to and during PR. Shows got too slick and he was too full of himself. Those three 🤡🤡 dancing around onstage were lame and unnecessary.
The energy in this show is phenom. But it's likely a "you had to be there" because the recording on this video itself is . . . well, unbearable. lol That ain't stopped me from watching this seven times already lol but man, I hope the sound was better at the venue back in 1986!
Uhhmm !! Now, we know, for certain, that, he wasn't talking to or about Lisa, or Wendy, or Vaniry,,orr Jill, or any other female, entirely, for that matter, because we know that they all damned well would, did, have sex, with him., On the spot, if he wanted. So, just, for your attention to detail. TY
Mr Christopher Tracy and the revolution and the artist unbelievable and unthinkable and unspeakable and unreachable

I remember on tour with a death metal band and we played on that stage….I was quite happy!

Fine work sir. Always wondered what it must have been like in First Avenue when P was trying out new material.

You made my day
Wendy specifically at this time was Prince's eyes and ears
What a great opener starting off the gig with the psychedelic 'Around the World in a Day'.

1st Ave was originally called Uncle Sam's. Building looked like a top hat.

This is recorded from a TV screen

Jimmy Jam I dont want to hear this on your new record 😅
And then singing "What have you done for me lately?" during Controversy 😂
the horns on Alexis de Paris just don't work.
