I like the concert version with the electronic drum gunshot sounds that replaced the snare drum I remember first seeing the video on USA networks Radio 1990 because our cable system didn’t carry MTV at the time and now I can continuously see it on RUclips thank god it shows prince and drum playing skills when he took over the Simmons electric drum kit I find it strange he never used that kit only then because previously he had a black Simmons kit then he had a custom made diamond shaped kit which he used right up to the disband of the revolution 🤔💯⚠️

Later, when I got into the German Kosmische Musik of the 70's, Minimalism, Acid House and improvisation it made even more sense to me! I often play my own re-edit of this 12-inch out when I DJ. Fascinating stuff, eh? He he hee! ;-)

I bought a lot of my Prince albums and 12ins from the same record store in Memphis back then, I walked in one day and the clerk knew I loved Prince and says “ man do I have something for you!” And showed me the America 12 inch extended version, I took it home and jammed it for two weeks straight !!

The Prince Estate is slipping! Why haven’t they released a Remaster Super Deluxe Edition of Around the World in a Day, yet? All the extended versions singles, unreleased music, plus a cleared up Blu-ray version of the entire concert he filmed the “America” live music video from. 🇺🇸 🎸
I feel so fortunate to have grown up in an era when Prince was creating so much beautiful music. MJ didn't compare. Actually, no one did. Looking forward to Sign O' The Times deluxe set - even at the exorbitant price it's selling for! Hopefully Around The World In A Day gets reissued.

One of the hardest to find, had this 12 inch Single when it first was released and I probably wore out the groove! Thank you a billion times for uploading it.

I love the 9:00-12:30 segment where he lets loose on that guitar. He jammed his ass off!!!!

In my opinion, Around the World in a Day and Parade had the best extended singles and b-sides. The extended version of "Girl" is on the b-side of ths one. Great combination.

I bought this record 12 " at electric fetus in Duluth, MN. Back when I was a teenager. Then listened to it in superior, Wisconsin. Happy memories. Thank you prince and the revolution 💜.
Still amazes me all these years later. At this point in his career Prince was impenetrably cool. He was on a whole other level artistically than any of his peers. Confidently artistic that he knew he could do whatever her wanted and it would be amazing. Sadly the complete opposite of his 90's output just a few years later..

@@EightiesMusiqLover I had the vinyl version but I played it so many times on my old record player it became too scratchy to play. They simply need to meet the demand and resell it. The Prince store brought back all of the 12 inch vinyls from those days except this one

Still amazes me all these years later. At this point in his career Prince was impenetrably cool. He was on a whole other level artistically than any of his peers. Confidently artistic that he knew he could do whatever her wanted and it would be amazing. Sadly the complete opposite of his 90's output just a few years later..
