This is probably the hardest piece I've ever learnt and there are a few small mistakes that I know I wouldn't have made if I weren't filming but this was by far the best I could manage after about 15 attempts. This is my favourite piece of Ragtime music and I absolutely love playing it. All details about what piano, camera and software I use as well as information about me can be found on my channel. This rag is the best of S. Joplin. You could play it more slowly, it will be more expressive and singing.
Nick, This Rag has a melancholy sadness to it, but still moments of optimism. I felt disappointed you didn't feel that. You raced through it like a bull in a China shop. I think this a late rag, he would have experienced a lot of tragedy by the time he came to writing this piece. I agree with @PianoSkol this is his best rag with some really heartful moments.
Jesus Christ, your technique is so good! I can't imagine how much you've practised to reach this level, man! I started learing how to play less than a year ago and I actually thought that I was pretty good at it so far. But now I see I still have a lot to learn. Loud applause to you!

Excellent job on this piece :) Stunning performance. but it seemed a little to strict on the phrases. Something my piano tutor demonstrated to me is that when repeating phrases for a piece like this is that making small changes on how you play each phrase as in dynamics makes a large difference :) But sensational playing none the less :D

@robotpeti Maple Leaf is harder than Entertainer but easier than Magnetic Rag. Magnetic Rag is the hardest of Joplins. Maple leaf is probably 2nd.

I think Maple leaf rag is harder than the magnetic rag !
With some decent music theory knowledge and an understanding of the syncopations, ragtime is pretty easy!

However I don't find this version good
This is certainly not too fast. Joplin's tempo marking is Allegretto ma non troppo.
