Thank you so much for this. I have no experience of music production or theory but have really wanted to try get into using a midi / daw to try create some silly little songs. This has really helped simplify so much. I think I'm going to look into your music theory essentials course as I really would love to learn more about melodies, chords and all the elements to creating a song etc. :)
How do we know the emotion go with each interval? I want to know the emotions that go with chords. Personally IDGAF which artists, groups, or bands sound is what... they can already express their emotions. That's like copying sombody smiling because they're popular, because I can't find people to teach me the differences between smiling, frowning, laughing, and crying. Not judging... I appreciate Ll of your videos. I am simply conveying my frustration through analogy.

@@busyworksbeats Thanks, I get it now. I find the chord codes system very easy to use to create chords from any key without trying to count tones and semitones on abacus. However is there a way to figure out different combinations of chords that sound nice together like with the scale degree system of(I ii,V)?
Damn that’s easy, I’ve been a drummer for years lol. I’m 24 and my dad threw me on the drums while I was in diapers, for a fun picture. I would just focus on the rhythm when playing jazz, thinking : “Jesus music theory sounds like a different language, not trying to learn that”.. when u said 0 3 7 makes a minor chord ANYWHERE on the keyboard, 🤯

Scale degrees refer to scale, starting at 1 - tonic.
Chord codes don’t require any scale, starting at 0.
