@@Marco_Venieri There is a movie made on the story of Amled (how we spell it), and it is a lousy movie. But Amled's mother is played by famous actress Helen Mirren. I had it on DVD, but I threw it away, or maybe gave it away. Few people understand the history behind the story of Amled.
Well told as a short version of the story. This is not the only thing Shakespeare borrowed from Saxo Gramaticus. There is also the thing about King Siger. He was told that he would never be in danger unless the forrest would come walking up to the castle. And then there came an army which carried small trees, trying to hide. This was used in MacBeth.
Prince Amleths grave can be found just outside the small village “Ammelhede” just outside Randers. King Fegges grave are located at “Fegge Klint” on the island of Mors in the north of Jutland. Or so they say. Don’t take it as a 100% valid fact. 😂
And now Robert Eggers is set to adapt the story of Amleth for his forthcoming movie 'The Northman'.
