- Five hundred years ago, Martin Luther kicked off the Protestant Reformation, which contributed to the birth of our modern age. In this one-hour special - filmed on location in Europe - Rick Steves tells the story of a humble monk who lived a dramatic life. Rick visits key sites relating to the Reformation (including Erfurt, Wittenberg, and Rome) and explores the complicated political world of 16th-century Europe - from indulgences to iconoclasts, and from the printing press to the Counter-Reformation. It’s a story of power, rebellion, and faith that you’ll never forget.

Will definitely watch that
Oh joy! Oh joy! ..and w/Rick Steves! I've been researching & studying "The Reformatin"
for 3-4 years..so many schools & churches never teach this wonderful, scriptural, horrific,
part of our history(?)why, I do not know. This being the 500th anniversary is very special
and should be, really, honored all year long; up to THEE DA"Y..October 31st!! Note: Over
50 million souls, men women & children, lost their lives (the horrific part)& for 1260yrs
as prophesized in the book of Daniel, the reign of terror & the evil Roman trials & edicts
continued all thruout Western Europe. I thank God for Martin Luther & his reformers.
I'm so excited for this! Rick you've got to do more history pieces
Is this a historical themed tour of Europe? That's a pretty cool idea.

Luther wasnt a monk. He was a priest.
There had been a host of questioning of authority at that particular time in European history and in anything, Luther just caught a wave.
Hi Rick (and/or his team)! What is the music used in this promo?
