I have a good laugh watching the folks at my gym walking on a huge incline while hanging onto the front of the treadmill for dear life...
This is why many incline walkers gain weight. They see huge cal numbers on the read out and think they burned that while holding on.
So what happens? They eat based on thinking they burned that amount of cals and actually go into a surplus. When you hold on, you only burn 30% of what you think you did.
This really helped a lot thx
Exactly!!!!
I have big bones I’ll have you know!!
I am not fat!!!
😂
Lol I swear that was me at the beginning 😂
Same on the stairmasters they r bending over, breaking their back at the same time holding for life while walking the stairs but its just not the same effort or effectiveness
Incline cardio is THE BEST fatloss hack
Does incline walking add muscle/ weight?
Definitely adds definition to your calves and butt, I have girls at my work trying to stop themselves from grabbing my ass any chance they get with thier eye's, it's soo annoying 🙄
Cardio technically only burns muscle mass
@@sheduwgaming burns calories, not muscle mass. If you lift after doing cardio, you won't lose any muscle mass
I would imagine it strengthens your calf muscles.
@@AmandaLovesOldFords sure but not really a significant difference at all. Unless u go crazy w it like an hour a day every single day. Personally thats how i saw a slight and onlly slight difference when i did this
its a different exerxise… the laid back hold activates the glutes in the end range closer to the flexed state (like in a hip thrust), while the uphill walk activates the glutes more in the stretched state, like in a lunge… try and feel the difference for yourself. obviously the laidback trend didnt come from any kind of athletes, but from some booty aera fitness girls who want to include the glute thing in their cardio… but its legit for that purpose… try and rethink the video
Wrong on so many levels.
Yeh keep telling yourself that. Hahah
Am scared of falling thats why I hold on
Then dont do it. Do it correctly or not at all. You arent burning all the calories u are supposed if u hold on to dear life
You're walking too fast then.
I saw a man in the gym on the highest incline, clinging from the screen with what looked like his entire weight. I don’t mean that unkindly, it just seems really inefficient
Bad advice. Regardless if you hold onto the handles ur still moving your body and burning calories which is the entire purpose of doing incline walking. Not using the bars puts a ton more stress on my feet and makes the walk feel more akward because ur technically walking "uphill" but you have no source of gravity other than the belt and the handles. Sure you can go slow do an icline for an hour at half height and never lose weight or do an intense 30 minute session with high height and good pace with the bars and you wont hate it as much with the same results. University of Colorado is a 🤡🤡🤡 college
Wrong!! But thanks for playing. If you're going to hang onto the front of the treadmill for dear life you might as well have NO elevation. Simple physics. Maybe you need to go back to the college of your choice.
Its terrible for your back to stand there gripping them for half an hour
What is the point of putting incline if you hold on to the bars? 🤡🤡🤡 🤡🤡🤡
Hahaha. No. If you are in pain, lower the speed or incline. Stop holding on, you are killing your proprioceptive system.
