Regarding Point #3 - as a songwriter producer I generally either add or remove 2 tracks or sounds... or 4 tracks/sounds (do this in pairs). Add tracks/sounds as you build up, and remove as you wind down. Make sure you pan the new tracks/sounds or add some reverb or delay just something to move it in the audio space.
Awesome tips as always!
The part about making sure your intro fits your track really put a spot light on the project I am working on today. Sure enough took the intro out and got right to the chorus with a quick snare fill and boom already leaps more on target.
The absolute best tip I had early, probably from Jesse and others, listen to music on tv ads and shows. If that's what you're trying to do, listen at what others are doing, and it shows what genres work.
OMG you've described every recipe i've ever made lol
Absolutely the greatest 5 tips for any serious producer in sync business!
What an amazing gold mine of information! Thank you so much for the education! 😊 Defo needed tip 5... almost all my songs end on weird chords to leave a question mark! 😝 So, I’ll make sure I go against that grain when composing for sync!
Love these pointers!!
Tip #6: Know my role!! I'm not the boss of the library.
This is the best advice yet! 🚀🚀 Clearly stating the tracks emotion and genre, getting right into it and creating continuous development throughout are killer tips!
Being one of those loves all genres types that transitions from style to style this really hit home the importance of direction and purpose in licensable music! Thanks 💜
Perfect info! Thanks again for sharing this with us 😎
Great stuff as always. Regarding endings: is it always better for it to be a single short hit or can it be a ring out in some circumstances?
It can ring, you just don't want it to ring out for like 6 seconds, let it go for a second and then fade it out.
Brodie is correct. A little fade out is ok after a hit.
Do you have any suggestions for where to look for videos for songwriters as opposed to producers? I’m struggling to find songwriters with the type of information you provide.
Songwriters aren't typically doing a lot of Sync work simply because having a home studio where you can produce and mix your own tracks is pretty much a requirement for working with Production Libraries. There's plenty of channels on the topic of songwriting though.
ruclips.net/video/Hc7c5xVCX48/видео.html pretty sure ari's take is a songwriter, he has put out some decent content
But if you can learn some basic production do it! It's so much fun and there's so much info out there to get you started 🚀💜💃
