A little interaction helps you recognize how we all have so much more in common than our perceived differences. Great stuff Xiaoma! :D

I love language learning. I taught myself Japanese and have had literally no one get upset when I speak it to them, but ever since I started learning Korean... there has been a lot of hate directed at me for it... I don't understand why. I live in Koreatown, Los Angeles, so there's a high Korean population and I feel like it's a 50/50 split of people who think it's great that I'm learning it and people who think it's like... they act like it's cringe or something. I'm not being a koreaboo, I just love languages...

There’s definitely that influence of Indian culture from the cross connections of Great Britain and India…it would make sense. I’m part Indian and my maternal grandmothers family came from Britain so I’m connected on both sides. It’s somewhat ironic because British cooking to my knowledge wasn’t known for being super spicy or flavorful.

True, but if that bothered you a lot (which is understandable), you probably should never eat out anywhere. I think we all like to have this idea that food is prepared fresh in some sanitary bubble and arrives to us in an uncontaminated state, but the truth is that A LOT goes on behind the scenes with people wiping their noses, butts, and everything, and then some small amount of that goes on our food. Bon appetit!🙂

Its amazing you can even speak this much. I'm also an Indian in NJ! One big tip for speaking proper Hindi is learning to conjugate words differently based on context. "Kya yaha chai milta hai" is close enough to understand, but it sounds awkward to native speakers. Chai is considered a feminine noun, along with many others. "Milta" or any similar word ending with aa sound is usually (not always) masculine. Instead you should say "Kya yaha chai MILTI hai?".
