    Thank you for sharing, crazy, I’ve felt like this year has been a lot of “learn to trust & not worry of things you can control” but God has been so good, so great to see other artists show God through their art.

      YES, I totally understand!! Learning to trust in God’s sovereignty is so difficult, but so crucial. 💛

    ❤ Never stop dreaming, it's all we have some days. Always inspiring for me to watch. I had chronic bronchitis the first half of my life, it sucks, it got better, but the downtime always allowed... or forced me to write? Maybe it was a clue. I dunno. :)

      Ughhh chronic bronchitis definitely sucks. I’m so glad you grew out of it though! I love that it drew you deeper into your creativity. Such a beautiful example of turning lemons into lemonade!! 💛

    Love this idea. And you executed it so well! Beautiful colors and details. I especially love the jelly tendrils and the sleeping dog

    Hi, I've been following your channel for a while now and have watched every single one of your videos. I just wanted to say that I love your art style and really admire how open you are about your personal and art journeys. I'm going through a similar phase in my life with many worries, uncertainties, and situations preventing me from taking big steps in my own art journey. So thank you so much for sharing your story and motivating me to give it a go, no matter how scary it is. Everyone is fighting their own battle, but we all have a choice to let our situations cripple us or motivate us to at least try because life is too short anyway. Wishing you the best in the competition you're participating in and with your art book project. You're an inspiration, Allison! 💙

      Oh my goodness, thank you so much!! This absolutely means the world to me. I completely understand how hard it is to not let our fears and circumstances cripple us from taking leaps of faith, but hopefully we can each be a little braver every day and take small steps to pursue our goals. 💛

    A lot of the artists I follow, like Sarah Burns, used a kick-starter campaign to fund privately printing their art books. Sarah has two out and it's working on her third book now I think.

      Kickstarter is definitely a great option! 💛

    Ohhh you need to make an Meraki Meadow art book!!!! I would buy multiple copies for me and my sisters! You could have pages on finished illustrations and the sketches and color comps, your Bits and Bobbles sketches and include some of the lore and character write ups! It would be amazing!!
    Looove your art btw. It's so nice to find someone who is open about their faith online too!

      I most definitely want to make a Meraki Meadow art book in the future!! If the sketch collection book goes well, maybe I’ll be able to make one in 2025-2026. 😁
      Thank you so, so much for your kind words! 💛

    As a fellow immunocompromised/constantly sick person, I relate and there is absolutely nothing wrong with listening to your body and caring for yourself. It's great to try to always be 'doing', but be sure to still prioritize rest. If you don't, your body will prioritize it for you and it will not be at a time which is convenient.

    • @allisonaletha
      @allisonaletha  2 месяца назад

      I’m so, so sorry to hear that you deal with chronic illness too! It’s such a struggle. 😔 You’re absolutely right, our bodies will force us to rest if we don’t take the time to prioritize it! I struggle a lot to have grace on my body and give it the rest it needs. Slowly but steadily, I’m learning. 😅
      Ooo that’s a great question!! I typically start with thinner layers in the beginning so as not to lose my sketch, but oftentimes I do lose it within the first couple of layers. It’s a lot of guesswork for me as well. But having started my painting with a sketch, I usually have a little bit of muscle memory for what the original design was and where each of my elements were (if that makes sense 😅). I hope your bear painting goes well!! I totally understand how frustrating it can be to have to repaint certain elements over and over 😅

    I love this illustration so beautiful! It was eye opening for me when you described all the issues you have been facing this year and how lucky I have been. I want to stop taking things for granted.

    I relate to this so much, I have the same amount of uncertainty and it has VERY MUCH stopped me from trying. I don't have the same health issues you do, but um... my issues do cause me to be unable to get things done for random amounts of time. I already know that I cannot actually live on my own. Hearing you talk about facing that and pushing through anyway actually sort of woke me up to how much I ... don't even try. So, in short, thank you for saying something. I needed that wake up call.

    • @allisonaletha
      @allisonaletha  2 месяца назад +1

      I completely understand! Truthfully I don’t always try the way I should either. I don’t always push through, and that’s caused me to miss out on some pretty amazing things. But it’s important that we have grace on ourselves! We aren’t perfect people, and we aren’t going to make the right choice every single time. But hopefully, along and along, we make more of the right ones, try a little harder, and reach a little further 💛
