    I love all your videos but if you’ll find specifics helpful, I can tell you I’ve watched your “detective” videos COUNTLESS times, taken notes on them, then watched them again because they’re THAT good.
    Educational videos will always be king I think especially because (I’m assuming here) a large part of your particular audience is composed of other artists who want to learn from you. I’m so happy that you love teaching because you’re SO good at it. I think that is where the gold is for you: courses, educational videos, tutorials, done in the style that only Allison can do!
    I myself found you because I was desperately searching for gouache teachers on RUclips!
    Hopefully you find some answers soon but please keep going, you’re on the right path and we’re right there cheering you on!

    I'm not sure exactly where you live in MO but I go to a free painting night once per month here where I live. I love the community of it. I don't have much money to pay for classes but I love getting to chat with other artists and share our work.

    The Plan for RUclips part - it could be the people's battle against YT's ads. There has been a lot of talk about that, and people going "You know what. I don't really need YT any more if this is how they are going to be." So it may be absolutely nothing that YOU did. YT's algorithm is a fickle beast. I am watching someone try to "make it" on YT right now, and they keep going the shorts route, because it's "the future of YT" based on what they say. I HATE shorts. I like watching people's art process and shorts don't give me what I am looking for. So that COULD be another "why" but this is all speculation on my part. Keep doing you.

      Oooo I guess I hadn’t realized so many people were upset about ads on RUclips! I guess for me ads aren’t a huge deal since RUclips is the only place I can watch my favorite artists/creators make their cool stuff, so I just don’t care too much about having to sit through ads. 😅 But that totally makes sense! And I totally agree, I’m not a big fan of shorts either. They’re okay for some things, but I much prefer long-form content.

    I love your work so much!!! Has there ever been anyone in your life that encouraged you to teach? You are so natural at it and you have a fabulous way of being able to explain things in a way that is easy for people to understand!! Great job!!!

      Thank youuuu!! Nah, no one’s ever really mentioned teaching to me before (I see your sarcasm and raise you one 😉) Now that I think about it, my mama might’ve encouraged me to try teaching!

    For the Q&A, I was curious about your process for digitally turning a drawing into crisp line work for tracing

    I'm subscribed but you tube has not been sendingvme notifications, so I've missed the last 3-4 videos. I just changed my settings to "all" for your channel. So we will see.

    I've noticed that we have the same kinda style when comes to painting illustrations I've been watching your videos for a long while and just now picked certain similarities in our work. I'm so nervous to make my first video any tips?

    • @allisonaletha
      @allisonaletha  3 месяца назад +2

      Ooo I TOTALLY understand being nervous about making your first video! It’s a huge first step! My number one tip would be to just have fun with it. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to make a PERFECT video, because perfect videos simply don’t exist! Second tip is to be careful with your music selection and volume (I’ve had complaints about both in my early videos.) make sure your song choice matches the vibe of the art/your commentary, and that the volume doesn’t overpower your voice! 💛

    Im not an expert by any means. But I would still post on instagram. Even if its just pictures of your artwork with links to your other socials. I have found SO many artists thru instagram. Thats how I found many youtubers actually.
    When one finds your art interesting...believe me, they will always click on your bio hoping you have a youtube channel or website.
    So if you can, I would stick to it a little longer.
