  • In this Christmas and Holidays episode of The Little Things we explore the origins, folklore, and traditional images of the Christmas Gnome. From its roots as the Scandinavian Nisse or Tomte to the more modern elves of Santa's Workshop, the Christmas Gnome has become an increasingly popular Holiday Decoration over the last few years. But it turns out the Christmas Gnome has been popular for a long time, and its image can be seen on Christmas Media for over a century. The Christmas Gnome harkens back to old Seasonal Folklore and many of the tropes associated with this little spirit can be found in many modern fantasy and folklore images. Let's get into the Holiday Spirit and find out why these little guys can be found all over store shelves during the Christmas Season!

Sweet! Gnomes get so little love. You should give him a whip and call him Indiana Gnome 😁. Kick some @$$ for me and for all my gnomies everywhere! By the way...love RIFTS...that takes me back...

I wonder why all the mushrooms in the older art are always ted with white dots. Curious

Amanita muscaria. Grows in northern, cooler areas. Also, did I just hear Jimi Hendrix start playing? 🤔
