- Опубликовано: 21 мар 2023
- Just some additional coding options that were requested from System Test 28, and some updates on what I've been doing with the system for System Test 29.

the 90 bpm was perfect, reminds me of that fire alarm test in a school from 15 years ago made by i think his name is simplextech
yeah
Limited Voice Evac is possible on Relay logic. For simplicity you would have a single stage system (or voice evac ONLY on stage 2). Parts you need:
- Answering machine loop Cassette of suitable length for your voice message and any delay you want between repeats.
- Cassette recorder with remote input
- External Amplifier (for the voice evac speakers)
- Microphone (for live announcements)
- Audio Switch preferably using relay logic to automatically reset to tape on system reset
Leave the cassette recorder in play with the remote contacts in pause (I forget if this is open or closed), the alarm system relay will switch the remote contacts starting the recorder. You will have the issue of the playback stopping mid message on reset, but I'm sure you can figure your way around this (hint it involves a high pitched tone, a filter, a tone detector and more relay logic).
Awesome system test! Lights look super cool in the dark!
They doooo! It's like something out of a movie set xD

7:09 if you play this at 0.5 it'll sound like the fire alarm from the episode April 9th from Arthur.
Strobes are stronger than horns hehe
Sounds better than my Spotify playlist
That actually sounds like perfect 90 BPM, well done, and with those recycle relays, you can effectively do whatever style BPM you wish, you could even have it pulse as fast as the rotary dial on a W.E. Model 500 if you wanted to, creativity is encouraged and welcome
Thanks! I was admittedly overly concerned with people being nitpicky about it I suppose, it turned out alright. I must admit, those relays, I have set them to 0.1 sec on and 0.1 sec off before, it sounds about as funny as one can imagine xD
@@FrostedStrobes should upload it, totally worth it XP
You need a feature for the panel to where you have a screen that tells you the BPM
Love how those red lights look in the dark! Ever think about getting a security system for your place? I’d say the Honeywell Vista 20p is the best choice for that.
I'm a big fan of the lights as well, I think I'll likely be keeping (at least) a couple of them up for the next few tests!
I don't want to divulge too much about home security to the public for obvious reasons, but I will say that I certainly cannot afford anything high end, probably just an X10 system for now.
@@FrostedStrobes ah I see. You know what would be really trippy? If each light was a different color!
@@siphonralarms9411 Now this is an interesting idea, I may try that at some point in the future.
what ahhhhhh

New coding 90 60 and 20 beats per minute and California code
Art and craft, wow 8:21
Thx frosted strobes! I like the other codes as i requested :)
Love the red lights!
Truly love the videos
Thank you :D
Can we be friends
that 90 bpm sounds amazing with those horns and how did u fix the raspy 4050
The funny part is that I didn't even do anything, the 4050 kinda just decided it wanted to work that day xD
Try DH48S-S relay for easier and more precise adjustments?
4:00 simplex tech video reference?
those mp3 cards can work with just relays if you're interested.
Also i did love the neon sign
I figure the relays can be used to activate the card, but in terms of actually storing and deploying an audio file on just relays, I'd have to essentially build a computer LOL
@@FrostedStrobes actually the audio is stored on the SD card, and the terminal that are closed determines the sound
@@mimi2 Yes I've seen them, that'll be interesting to figure out in terms of implementation.
Very cool !
I noticed you have a lot of computers in the basement, I saw a Dell dimension and an emachines….ever thought about making a video showcasing them? I would definitely be interested in a computer video even though this is a fire alarm channel at the end of the day it’s just an idea anyways I love your fire alarm videos keep up the good work.
I've been meaning to make computer videos on a tech channel I have (FatCatTech), unfortunately a number of them are missing parts, but I can probably Frankenstein something together xD
Also thank you for the kind words!
Nice! What panel is that?
Thanks! It's a panel I built.
cool spider and cool neon sihn
Nice!
Thanks :D
Nice! I was wondering when the next system test was gonna come out
Hell nah the lights in the dark are terrifying asf.
While editing I kept getting the feeling I'd just see the shadow of a person standing somewhere when the lights came on xD
@@FrostedStrobes lmao it's just the worst feeling
Just think of being stuck in a sinking submarine and this is what you see and hear....
@@SoutheastWarrenEAS i dont even want to think about it lol
Use as many wheelock and simplex alarms as you can
There gextex and craft
25:45 getting ready for Halloween lol
Can’t believe I’m just now realizing this. When you said that you probably shouldn’t be having the system going off at night because you get “cougars” around your area, it’s because of the red lights basically being a signal to certain ladies….. catch my drift?
That's not what I meant when I said that. I mean that I *actually* have mountain lions around here.
@@FrostedStrobes oh shoot, my bad! I was referring to the whole red light district thing and how some women are called cougars. Didn’t realize you meant that there were mountain lions around your area, kinda scary!
ST 28 (.5), 28 minutes
I noticed that in the edit and I was like i t ' s p e r f e ct
what relay are you useing for the march time relay
Someone needs to get this guy some FPLR fire alarm wire, still great video though
you mean my mixture of thermostat wiring, speaker wiring, and $11 doorbell wiring DOESN'T look good?
Honestly though I understand, perhaps someday it'll all be proper, or at least something close to it... or I'll put up drywall and hide the ugly wires behind it Lol
Using a mess of wires is so something I would do. I mean you used what you had on hand, and made it work. Thats super cool!
Or or or to the thought of putting up dry wall to hide it, try metal conduit, or plastic conduit to hide it. It would be a lot easier than passing up drywall (If your thinking of putting it up the same way I'm thinking). Although,.it would be pretty expensive for metal conduit, at this rate of reusing, maybe find some old, somewhat thin metal or plastic pipes lol
*I meant putting, not passing. My dang kindle auto corrected me*
And I didn't know that putting a * before and after a sentence would make the letters bold
Next system test I want to see Wheelock 7002t simplex 4050s and simplex truealerts
do you have the link to those potter adjusters on ur panel?
I bought them on Electronic Goldmine, unfortunately they don't sell the time recycle relays anymore
You can occasionally find them, and other time recycle relays similar to them, on eBay though.
I was counting the beets and it was 90
I make fire alarm mini figs
Please try it with IBM/Simplex 4030

When r u gonna do another video?
I had planned to do ST29 about a week ago, but something went wrong so now it's going to be another week or two.
4:04 4030 sound
Is it part 2?
I call 60bpm pulse
you built the panel?
Yes I did
@@FrostedStrobes can u try to use light bulb as an fire alarm?
@@crazy12577 A couple of the large red lights featured in this video and System Test 28 have standard 60 watt light bulbs, if that's what you mean.
@@FrostedStrobes those are light bulbs? how did you hook them up
