    One continued thing I plan to do with every other 9mm revolver video from here on out that I forgot to do in this video, is check for bullet creep on the last remaining round after 4 are fired over the chronograph. In some other videos I have not released yet, I colored the 5th bullet in the cylinder with black marker around where the case mouth and bullet meet, so it's easy to tell if there is bullet creep.
    FYI I 'bullet creep' tested the Blazer 115 gr FMJ that I shot in my unboxing video, and just two shots pulled the remaining bullets 1/4" out of the case and the 3rd shot completely removed the remaining bullets from the cases. What was basically happening in my unboxing video was that the last two rounds still fired with the bullets removed because the cylinder throat had enough grip to hold the bullets and there was still enough pressure to fire the bullets fine.
    Defensive ammunition especial LE ammo shouldn't have that issue due to bullet sealant acting as a glue, but i'm finding this is a huge thing to be careful about with a 9mm revolver.

    • @CyborgZeta
      @CyborgZeta Месяц назад

      Interesting. I thought bullet creep was only an issue with lightweight revolvers like the LCR?

    • @nothim7321
      @nothim7321 Месяц назад +1

      It is a definite issue in revolvers firing semi-automatic designed ammo. I'm glad you realized it.

    • @GunSam
      @GunSam  Месяц назад +1

      @@nothim7321 I've known about it for a long time. I just never personally owned a semi auto caliber revolver, other than the S&W Governor that can fire .45 ACP.

    • @nothim7321
      @nothim7321 Месяц назад +2

      @CyborgZeta semi auto rounds aren't really crimped that tightly. There is generally no need, the magazine often helps keep the bullet in the case, and the recoil impulse is lessened due to the spring and slide absorbing some of the energy after firing. It can still happen with more stout loads that haven't been crimped correctly even in the guns they are designed for, and does tend to be more of an issue with lighter weight revolvers, because they have even less momentum to overcome.

    • @nothim7321
      @nothim7321 Месяц назад +1

      @GunSam I notic3d it for the first time in a Ruger redhawk dual chambered in .45 ACP and .45 colt. The 200 grain +p rounds would jump, a little clear acrylic nail polish would help with that issue for a little bit.

    At that point we'll see that the 9mm in a revolver kind of splits the difference between the .38 Special and the .357.

      It looked to me like the 9mm tumbled too, on the Real World Simulation.
      When the 9mm bullet came to rest, it looked like it was pointing towards the camera. Tumbling could also account for 1) the "swirls" visible in the wound tract, 2) the bullet terminal trajectory visibly being curved off bore line, and 3) some of the petals/jacket being turned "upward."
      So while the 9mm appeared to leave a wider wound tract, one could argue that the 38 actually demonstrated better "Real World performance," because it maintained more straight line penetration, meaning it would be less likely to exit out of a body by striking, say, a humerus on a side thoracic shot, and to instead continue on through, straight into the chest cavity.

    Wolff Springs has a reduced power spring set for Taurus 605, no mention of the 905 but I'm guessing they may be the same.
    Besides that, some Dremel work with fine polish compound would ease up all the drag and turn that thing into something just as good as your 605 or better. Throw a mirror finish on those chambers too and 9mm probably just falling out every time.

    • @GunSam
      @GunSam  Месяц назад +1

      It will, but a moon clip would have to be used. You would also lose a bit of performance VS .380 ACP in a semi auto because a .380 ACP case is a bit smaller/thinner than a 9mm case despite using the same bullet diameter. So basically rather than just firing, the .380 ACP case would expand to fit the 9mm chamber and in that process, some of the energy that moves the bullet forward is wasted. Because the energy goes to the path of least resistance, in this case, the energy goes to expanding the case to fit the chamber, thus lowering the bullet velocity significantly.

    Is the nine mill revolver more difficult to clean than the 38?

      No, the same

    • @GunSam
      @GunSam  Месяц назад +2

      Not that I have noticed. If you use the bore brushes in the chambers there's a tad of a catch going on one way or another due to the chamber ledge, but it's nothing that really changes much during cleaning.

    The cylinder in both guns are the same lenght? I cant understand why they dont make the cylinder shorter to 9mm.

    Ok good one - the 9mm 'won' this one IMHO. Yes it is a competition lol. Now, lets see .357 Mag vs 9 mm. You have a 605 there after all.

      Comparisons are not competitions. Unless someone is mentally unstable and way too much into it, foaming at the mouth to see two basic things compared...I guess it's some sort of weird fanboy competition to them.

    When are we gonna see if 380 can be fired out of the 905 ...maybe vs 38sw out of the 38spcl revolver

    • @PanarchyTheater
      @PanarchyTheater Месяц назад

      It would fire, you'd probably get velocity issues.

      Taurus has a 380 revolver too. Steel, 1.75 inch barrel, bobbed hammer, 5 shot, 16oz, blued or stainless

      You will never get a full length video on the subject as it's not worth my time. Like the other person who commented said, you would lose velocity. While 9mm and .380 ACP use the same bullet diameter, the .380 ACP case is thinner, so some energy would be lost when the .380 ACP case expands and fire forms to the chamber walls. I have never tested this with 9mm/.380 ACP but have with other cartridges that were similar in other calibers. Generally at least 100 FPS would be lost VS the same .380 ACP ammo in a semi auto pistol.
