      @@larry1824 Your first comment is a lie. She’s not from Baltimore. Shall I damn _you_ now, or just call you stupid? This is the entertainment business you’re talking about, pal. Everyone changes their names, their stories, all the time. As for the made-up sin of “cultural appropriation”, I couldn’t care less. This girl did what worked for her at a time when anything else would have had her dismissed as a dark-skinned guinea freak from New England. Along the way, she “paid” for it by dedicating her life and directing people’s attention to a group of people who really aren’t that interesting anyway. More power to her.

This is not something jer mum told her!! Her family were still correcting people via letters etc....letters that were never published sadly.

      Yes. What's really interesting this that here, at the very peak of her popularity we get to hear her actually talk about her creative process and her profound statements about it. Also her opinions about NOT controlling other people in performing another persons' song. That, once the music gets out, it belongs to everyone's mind. This is important footage because it captures the last bits of her actual innocence. Free from grossly personified ego.
      In later interviews she's sort of not brag, but sort of lecture the audience about the creative process and the approach to art. Instead of sharing, as she did in this interview it just became a sort of lecture. Based on her self-importance. As day by day, her "self-importance" relied on pretending to be something she was not.
      Her music and, also, singing style was truly original. Yet, as she descended further and further into her own identity delusions, she truly lost her her self. Her innocence was deflowered by her won ego.

      Think about how she was raised in the 1940's. Just out of the depression era. Not only was it a rough world, it was very much still a MAN's world. I think she naiively thought she'd try using the mystique of a marginalized culture to create a stage presence. That naiitively even comes out here in this profound interview. Even back then in this interview, I dont' think she quite realized that she was slowly losing her soul in the process.

    FAKE

    • @Acoustic-Rabbit-Hole
      @Acoustic-Rabbit-Hole Месяц назад

      This is actually one of the most honest and profound little statements about everything from the creative process, to the pedagogy of music, and even copyright. She's actually ahead of her time on that, saying that you can't stop someone from sinning another persons song.
      On my own channel (musician here) I got flagged for copyright for literally playing "Heart of Glass" on the banjo. No words, just me playing. And I got it trouble for that. So Buffy was defending ME even back then.
      Yes, she was a fake as you say. But trust me, in the entertainment industry, and we acting, it's ALL fake. She should just fess up about the lies and talk about how it destroyed her soul. To apololgize for what she did would be for her to bear her evil soul to everyone.
      Oh, God, if we could only go back to our innocence. That's was she is here in this video. Still innocent and naiive. This vidoe captures the last shreds of her remaining innocence.
      Come see my movie i made about her on my channel here.
