This woman's vocals have mesmerized me my entire life. I'm 52, became a vocalist because of this woman. I wonder if she understands that her instrument shapes people's lives? By far the greatest rock vocalist of all time. Ann Wilson. Diva.
I hear ya. I was 14 yrs. old, when Magic Man first hit the airwaves. I've been in love ever since. In my opinion, she is, by far, the best vocalist of all time!!!
I Too was inspired by Anne to teach myself how to sing because it was my biggest dream. And She was what made me determined to accomplish that. I feel exactly like you do. She is the Best Female Singer Ever in My opinion.
Try with ' Holding out for a hero'... 🤨Try with 'Total eclipse of the heart" 🙄, try with 'I dont wanna miss a thing' (Aerosmith) , try with Bohemian Rapsody...🤦🤦🤦🤦🤔🤔🤔🤔
Ann Wilson Wow; one of the greatest rock vocalists in history. The depth and purity, what can I say. Thank god I grew up in the 70's, when the greatest rock ever was created and performed.
Another thing I love about Ann. No fear of being vulnerable. She goes for everything, lands most of it, and even when she doesn't, our hearts are bonded with hers.
This is why I keep saying Rock music is the king of genres, hands down. Acts like these gals make your skin crawl. I get goosebumps every time I hear Ann's voice.
Again... I will leave the same comment ... how many singers can sound better live then they did on their computer adjusted pre-recorded version? This is Heart! This is the "definition" of professional artist/musician!
Yes...Anne sounds absolutely AMAZING!, but Damn! - Nancy! What a stunning Musician! Truly a fine guitarist, using such interesting Chord shapes, and nuanced dissonance, and dark colors...plus, she's a Total Goddess!
This is one of the few bands that can grab you with their lyrics, instruments, and most importantly, their voices and stir something within our kindered souls. Music is a beautiful way to connect with others and Ann & Nancy do it like no other. Love HEART!!!
I think I have been able to "loop" this song in musical brain. Lucky enough to have seen them do this masterpiece LIVE in concert about four times, inccluding the 2019 Love Alive tour witnessed in Detroit area. A song and message and music that transforms and transports us to another sphere. Forever grateful for the musical experience and exquisiteness of Mistral Wind.
I actually met Nancy... It was a weird situation... I basically begged the guard to let me back stage but he couldn't. He said he would lose his job if he did. What he agreed to, what he allowed was, he let me go up to the stage.... so, I got to go up there, all the way up there... without getting tackled to the ground ... and I shouted to Nancy and got her attention and I actually handed her a rose and shook her hand. This is something that I will never forget for the rest of my life!
So powerful!!! I've seen Heart a couple of times in the late 80's. They blew me away. The following morning I failed an important exam in my sophomore year in college. I told my professor, I had just seen Heart the night before and couldn't focus. He was kind enough to let me take the exam over a few days later. I aced it!!! Even if my professor didn't allow me to retake the test. It would have been worth the fail.
@@annterashita1770 Haha that would've been cool to see him at the concert but I suspected my Professor was more into Classical music. He was a nice man but was wound a little tight if you know what I mean. 😂
How can AUDIO connect with somneone so deeply that its almost a spiritual experience. Im a 55yr old male & this song almost brought tears. So much Power in this song & Ann & Nancy felt it too & ...just an incredible performance.
I"ll be 54 next week. I was 10 when my parents brought home the Heart double album (white, with all the band members lined up on the cover - 1978). I immediately tuned into this song and would listen to it over and over 100 times a day for I can't tell you how many years. I was just learning to play the drums so I would sit there for hours trying to figure out all the weird time signature stuff. Even at that young age it gave me goose bumps and basically brought me to tears. I still react the same way. Trying to describe the feeling is almost impossible. Like, I think in my head when I have it playing through headphones as loud as I can possible stand it, how can anything be any better? It's like an addiction or something, almost like I NEED it. And I always NEED MORE. Lol
Holy moly guacamole this is beyond amazing. This song is just amazing and her voice makes it even more amazing. This is one of the best and most underrated performances in rock music imo
The first time she heard it, my little 3 yr old daughter came into the room where it was playing on the stereo, and stopped . She was TOTALLY still, and when it ended she looked at me & said, "holy shit". I'll never forget that.✌️🤍🎼
Absolutely one of not just there song but one of the most underrated rock songs of all time. And my favorite still by them. Anne and Nancy can still rock it.
As a professional musician playing all genres, I am totally enamered by Ann and Nancy Wilson. Their musicianship and knowledge of what it takes to make a song both poingiant and musically interesting is second to none. I enjoy the fact that they like to cover Zepplin songs, because Robert Plant wasn't just a showman, but an integral part of what made that band great. Surely "Heart" will go down in history as one of the best rock bands of all time.
Love, Inspiration, and Insanity. That is HEART. The heart of Seattle. Best rock and ballad band ever to come out of the Pacific Northwest, maybe out of anywhere. Thank you Ann and Nancy. And also thank those musicians that worked with you in the 1970's. Not to be forgotten!.
Just AWESOME!!!!! GREAT, GREAT Song! This is one of my favorite songs of all time! It doesn't get any better than Ann and Nancy!! Nancy you are a spectacular guitarist...... BAD ASS!!!!!!!!!! If you don't like this song then you don't like ROCK!!!!

yeah this is a wonderful song, one of their best. It took me a while to access it though. I had the greatest hits/live album and listened to it all the time. This song didn't stick out at first. But the more I listened to it, I started to see the power in it. Now it is absolutely essential to listen to. This is probably their best song. They are a lot like their idols, led zeppelin. A lot of led zeppelin took me a while too. But then once you see what it is, it is amazing. It's life changing.
Probably their best song, because it is complex, and well constructed. So interesting how hard rock depends on the drums so much, which is a huge part of this song's underlayment of great power. i am no spring chicken, and just found this song via the instructional video from Nancy. They were a great band, clearly the best Girl band to date. Very Zeppelin. Notice the use of Zildjian cymbals, the oldest company located in the USA (originally from Turkey in the 1600's... see the Zildjian website for their amazing history).
It's amazing how after all these years Anne's voice is still so amazing!! Her voice has got to go down as one of the best rock voices in history.... Can anyone name a more powerful rock voice than hers??
Just a great song-- a rock epic. You feel like you live a whole lifetime going from the beginning to the end. I'd never heard a live version, and I'm surprised it works so well. I always thought of this song as the ultimate "studio track". Ann and Nancy both get to really show off their unique skills here, and the rest of the band plays great backup. Love the ending, starting at 7:22, the way everything just kind of decompresses and fades off. Gorgeous.
If I could like this song a thousand times it wouldn't be enough. Ann, Nancy, and the entire band exude so much passion you can't help but be moved by it. To hang out with them it would be the experience of a lifetime.

My favorite Heart song period. God. This is just mystical.😭❤
Someday before I die, I'll hit the lottery and have them perform this set for me in private. It is a dream that this retired Marine has...

Agree 100%. Second only to 100 other Heart songs and messages of the love, anger, confusion that defines the human soul.
