Actually, the Guardians game takes place in a different universe. The game account on Twitter confirmed it. Also, the game is so much better than Avengers 💀
To be straight, the reason behind the Guardians always arguing and bickering with each other is due to the narrative. It's suppose to be people who are in a team and don't know and trust each other. They are trying to get cozy with each other's history and personalities. Until the 3/4 mark, I forget the actual time, they start to enjoy each other's company and view themselves as an actual team saving the universe instead of a band of misfits being criminals doing criminal stuff.

Quick question, can something be done about the clarity of the gameplay videos ? They look like they're captured on the PS2, not sure if the issue is on the software side or the hardware.
Yeah after watching ACG, Skill Up and literally every other review, the actual game looks so incredibly different than what I see here. It isn’t a stretch to say your footage honestly makes this look like a ps3 game. This is not representative of the actual game. The graphics and texture work are some of the best I’ve ever seen. And I feel like you should have mentioned the unbelievable graphical and gameplay options that have been provided by the developers. See. This right here is why I always try and encourage people to play games on harder difficulties. This combat system is deeper than 95% of 3rd person shooters. You have 5 characters, 3 skills per character, elemental weaknesses, charged shots, melee, dash attacks, ect. On the harder difficulties it demands you learn when to use what attacks/ elements at what time. It encourages you to actually watch and assess the enemies and respond accordingly. It sucks that a cool unique combat system like this gets shortchanged because you can get away with just holding down the trigger on the recommend difficulty.
Combat difficulty on higher difficulties does not always make A game great some are best at normal so easy And some on Higher difficulties. Like Last of us which great on grounded. then you have fallout 3 which was better on easy as it was more of an exploration and discovery game. So it Really does depend on the game. This being A linear TPS and not an open world game. You would imagine combat is going To be the one of the main focuses. so A higher difficulty should be good for it.
@@John-996 yeah, I agree. It's not best for every game. Some games add difficulty in bad and lazy ways to make it hard for the sake of being hard. This game in particular feels well designed at harder difficulties because it forces you to use all the tools at your disposal to win fights. On Normal you can basically just run around holding the trigger down and win. There's actually a ton of depth to the system, but you only begin to see it when pushed as a player. It could be better, but it's an impressive and unique combat system. Especially for a shooter.
That's pretty weird with the paint glitches, I never seen any of that thankfully and I played it as soon as it went live on ps5. I really liked the game as well. Can't wait until the sequel comes out.
I love that this does alot of what Eidos Montreal does well alot of shared DNA with shadow of the tomb raider in how it combines game play and narrative the puzzles probably make more sense in tomb raider tho 😅
This is game of the year for me! and that is just based on playing the first chapter! I was highly impressed with it! The only issue i have with it really is when playing this on an ultrawide monitor (on PC), the cutscenes will transition on purpose to 16:9, but the gameplay itself is ultrawide 21:9.
This is gonna be another wait for sale game for me (35-40% OFF). I get a Mass Effect & No Man's Sky vibe but the gameplay, which is what I usually care about most, looks meh for some reason. I always appreciate a fun/engaging story, but prioritize gameplay. Thank you for taking the time to cover this! The more in-depth reviews make decision making easier. Keep it up ✨
@@nothingtosee226 Not really sure where she got hte mass effect vibe? wtf is a mass effect vibe? me3? me1? other than the ending of ME3 there was not a single thing wrong with ANY mass effect game

@@cinematrigger7915 so you have to reply the chapter and it’s events to be able to go back to a certain location.. that’s a slight let down I was hoping it had a galaxy map type thing where you select where your ship goes and you were free to explore hub world’s in between missions oh well
I disagree! I thought the bickering was amazing and the humor was better than The Guardians of the galaxy vol. 1 which is saying something cuz that movie was freaking hilarious
After avengers I’m done playing these games for money I’ll wait for it when it’s free or just watch it and you can only be starlord right? Like who would only wanna he starlord
Yeah major reason I'm not getting this is because it's just one long movie and has repetitive shooting. It's just not worth 80$ when you can watch a walkthrough on RUclips. When it comes to solo games they really have to deliver on gameplay and story to make it worth while.
Interesting perspective. I thought it was a really well put together review though! I personally thought it was a decent experience that was overpriced. Have a happy holiday!
I don't think the 1-10 rating system is used properly here or in most cases. How can a 8 out of 10 not be top 10 list material? Does this mean the top 10 of the year are all 9 or 10 perfect games? I think a 1 to 5 system or a 4 or 5 star system is better. People think giving a game 7 out of 10 means it's garbage. Something is wrong here.
You only control starlord, i was actualy hoping quick swap characters on the fly with different character movesets, big let down on the gameplay, the rest is just eyecandy, pass for me, will wait 4 a deep sale..
Jesus you couldn't be more wrong the game looks great both from a graphical standpoint and visual designs. Maxed out settings with Ray Tracing on looks amazing.
@@CaptainAmercia all I can attest to is what I could see in the video. I know it definitely looks better in person, but I stand by my opinion and opinions are just that opinions. Wrong and right aren't relative.
On a higher end Vizio 65 inch 4k tv with hdr and ps5 it looks very good. Some thing is up with the recording color pallets. It pops in color exactly like the movies did.
I was lucky enough to play the beta before it closed and I was love with the chaotic combat where everyone was doing their own thing while dozens of enemies are just being dumped on you. Turns out that’s all the game had to offer, that was a bummer
Great game, no replay value due to no upgrades or different skills. Hard level is a joke and choices don't have much weight. This game needs a major upgrade but it's fun to play on 1st playthrough 6.5/10 not worth $60. I paid $38 and felt I overpaid.
I think this game is great ..! I love the plot, story , actors, game play etc .. I like the characters so much that I’m very invested on what happens to them.. super funny game too.. only complaint is some of the generic monsters .. and some areas are generic .. very small complaints
Only thing I don't like is the mechanics of Peter moving. His movements when he shoots or runs are so wanky. For a game of such caliber they could've made him move a bit more smooth. And it isn't because of his personality or whatever it's just the game.
I would like this a whole lot more but I can't play as the other guardians. And that is a pretty big downside for a game like this. It's still great but it would have been a whole lot better if you could switch heroes while in combat.
"This game seems to set up a future universe with the Avengers video game" The next person who just now realizes this I'm going to sack tap, Insomniac confirmed this YEARS ago with PS4 Spider-Man so this shouldn't be that much of a surprise.
Insomniac never made these games, and spider man PS4 will never be part of this trash universe. They are doing there own thing PS4 exclusive, which will start off with wolverine and another unknown multiplayer marvel title being in the works
You say that like everyone follows and retains everything game companies say for years on end. The fact that DCG is someone who works in games for a living and couldn't remember that should be very telling. In my case I don't own a PS4 or a PS5...so I'd only ever be playing this game on PC...not much reason why me or fellow PC owners should already know that info either.
not sure if its just me the game got boring halfway , i think for me the combat system is repetitive and uninspired and the unlocks for the others i feel dont do much , the unlock feel like throw aways, the game also requires a lot more refinement , i mean flying the Milano is like trying to control jello and you can just basically run through fights to get to the next scene , it looks good on the surface but thats all it is a beautiful cover, im disappointed
The campaign in Marvel Avengers is fine. Get the game on discount, play the story and have some fun. You don't have to participate in the Endgame at all.
I don’t like this and it looks really bad I’m sorry to be a negative nacy but it really looks boring and they didn’t answer to half the thing people wanted like playing with anyone but just star lord while walking or doing thinhs
The dialogues of this game are many and hilarious, the plot is nice, as well as the graphics. However, I have to criticize the combat system. I find it beyond boring. I understand that it's all about teamwork, but Star-Lord alone is useless. His weapons look cool and powerful, but they don't do much damage, which makes the fights too long (especially with the bosses). All you do with him is shoot shoot shoot and occasionally, dodge. So sorry to say, but the combat system of this game is not very fun for me, I would have preferred to be able to switch between the various characters and use whoever I wanted (a bit like it will happen with SS Kill the justice league). Don't be offended by what I wrote. If you like the combat system, great, I personally find it boring and repetitive.

Why spoil the crossover tease ?!
This deserves a dislike for the capture quality alone.
Really enjoyed your review, good job man!!
It sucks we couldn't get movie accurate gamora and Peter quill. That would of been so cool
No goods and bads summary?
I really like those. I tend to screenshot them when talking about the games with friends on LINE.
2/3 game is a walking and conversation simulator? Thx u saved me ££££
Seriously that sounds terrible
@MartyMcFly yes mate I might as well watch a movie
That's pretty weird with the paint glitches, I never seen any of that thankfully and I played it as soon as it went live on ps5. I really liked the game as well. Can't wait until the sequel comes out.
u can only play as starlord entire games?
Yes
@@mareo187 crap major mistake.
Not as improved over avengers unless you mention story
I love that this does alot of what Eidos Montreal does well alot of shared DNA with shadow of the tomb raider in how it combines game play and narrative the puzzles probably make more sense in tomb raider tho 😅
They made Deus Ex not Tomb Raider
This is game of the year for me! and that is just based on playing the first chapter! I was highly impressed with it! The only issue i have with it really is when playing this on an ultrawide monitor (on PC), the cutscenes will transition on purpose to 16:9, but the gameplay itself is ultrawide 21:9.
Ok it's good but goty lol
@@glenwarne6492 yes! 😁😁
Yyyyikes

You played this on Xbox one?
If could play with the other members instead of giving them commands. I could have buy the game, so I can’t buy since it’s not what I want.
Keep it up ✨
No Man’s Sky is an exploration game and Mass Effect is an RPG. How could this game have reminded you of those?
@@nothingtosee226 Not really sure where she got hte mass effect vibe? wtf is a mass effect vibe? me3? me1? other than the ending of ME3 there was not a single thing wrong with ANY mass effect game
@@sumireravenclaw8034 love how you jump into conclusions!
@@nothingtosee226 no idea, it's a vibe that I got, and I am sharing how I felt 😊
@@MissBubbles Vibe isn’t related to gameplay. I’m pretty sure you’re only saying this because all 3 games are set in space, and if that’s the case then I don’t think you know what “gameplay” means
Does this game look so blury or is something with my phone? Great video thanks man
I definitely isn't blurry. Plus why is the screen all grey that is not the game
Thanks man
idc what the reviews are saying. i honestly cant stand the site of guardians of the galaxy. i am a big fan of super heroes games in general. but guardians of the galax never liked them .this is definitely a wait for sale type game. they should just leave all marvel games to insomniac dont trust these other companys
By Fucking square enix square enix By marvel avenger
and on sale I sure got it ! Worth getting ..
Eidos Montreal track record is good but not spotless if it was they would have never max thief 2014
Looks cool but I’ll wait till it’s for the low! - Pap Brady
I love the game, thanks for the review. You are sounded little under-the-weather. Hope you're feeling alright!
Can we play online as 2 characters?
Something is up with your render settings or the resolution/bitrate you're capturing at. This is extremely blurry looking.
I just want to know if you can return to areas for side quests/find loot you may have missed after you complete them and are there other hub worlds apart from your ship like there were in mass effect like the citadel or omega ect?
You can it's split by chapters.
@@cinematrigger7915 so you have to reply the chapter and it’s events to be able to go back to a certain location.. that’s a slight let down I was hoping it had a galaxy map type thing where you select where your ship goes and you were free to explore hub world’s in between missions oh well
@@samuelanich5508 You can go to any chapter whig features a new location to revisit like choices and get collectible
@@SantinoS_ that sucks.
How the streaming version?
I like how no one ever talks about the the Environments, world building!
I disagree! I thought the bickering was amazing and the humor was better than The Guardians of the galaxy vol. 1 which is saying something cuz that movie was freaking hilarious
For 20 bucks its a buy for me. Fun for one weekend.
Is this 9 of 10 like cyberpunk?
I loved the game and the story. The flying parts were utter garbage though. I'm a professional pilot.
This game is about the journey they take. If you like marvel stuff you will like it
I'm not writing it off in any way, but it's not appealing to me all that much right now. I'll probably play it someday.
After avengers I’m done playing these games for money I’ll wait for it when it’s free or just watch it and you can only be starlord right? Like who would only wanna he starlord
@@mrthanos8140 wait until the new ps5 exclusives release.

does this support haptic feedback?
I want this to be good and successful
I expected the gameplay to be better
I agree, no dps numbers ruined it for me
Just got on special ,it’s worth it .feels like you in a movie .
Ok..ok. is this rating for all consoles? With internet is this a buy for a switch player!!!!?
Its time for a new capture card my friend
How long is the game ?
15-20 hours.
The capture looks extremely grey.
Eidos Montreal worked on Avengers.
Eidos Montreal worked on this game.
I know this is being streamed over RUclips but graphics and textures look sub-par for sure!
Otherwise awesome freaking review dreamcastguy!!

Man the avengers started off so good istg I was like o hell yea then it just gave up
The Avengers game was actually incredible IMO… if you just play through the story and then stop ;)
@@csmkorn1 I did they had a few good missions you can tell they put time into then alot of fillers
"This game seems to set up a future universe with the Avengers video game"
The next person who just now realizes this I'm going to sack tap, Insomniac confirmed this YEARS ago with PS4 Spider-Man so this shouldn't be that much of a surprise.
Is anybody having a bug where you cant scan anything? I have that bug
not sure if its just me the game got boring halfway , i think for me the combat system is repetitive and uninspired and the unlocks for the others i feel dont do much , the unlock feel like throw aways, the game also requires a lot more refinement , i mean flying the Milano is like trying to control jello and you can just basically run through fights to get to the next scene , it looks good on the surface but thats all it is a beautiful cover, im disappointed
The campaign in Marvel Avengers is fine. Get the game on discount, play the story and have some fun. You don't have to participate in the Endgame at all.
It’s free on gamepass
@@mrthanos8140 PS Now also had it for a while. It's easy to bash it, but it's not a bad game. Average to good is more suitable.
Avengers didn't suck
Actually both games take place in a different universe
''A gang of intergalactic misfits''.......... Sounds like youtube and everyone on it and who watches it, me included.
Commenting on this before I watch it. Really hoping it’s a good review because from the cutscenes alone I want to buy this game.
Small update - almost finished the vid. The part where you said you don’t want to spoil it yet mention the huge set up with “blank” really is spoiler actually. Damn.
I get Telltale Guardians of the Galaxy vibes from its dialogue tree
Im on chapter 13 and iv never had any blinking textures on ps5.
First off, long time fan of the channel and I enjoy your content, but please try to steer clear of spoiler territory when reviewing games.. Giving enough detail for the player to know what to expect from an ending (we now know it's inconclusive, or a "cliffhanger") is almost as bad as spoiling the plot itself.
Guardians is one helluva ride man!!! 👍🏿👍🏿
