Reading comments saying it was the worst album or idea is really sad. I totally agree that what you are paying is not simply the music and the photos that you would download but rather the art and concept thrown in the USB. GD wants you to think what is the significance of doing all of this shit despite not getting the songs right away. There are artworks insanely priced but in reality they don't have any use. This USB is the same thing. Can't afford it? Then don't buy it. Can't see the art in it? Then don't buy it. But this should still be included as an album since people bought a physical item to have access to the songs.
It's not the USB what makes you pay 30$, the content in the link is. - songs (wav and mp3 files) - 4 videos so far (2 exclusive video), 1080p, 150 ~300mb (exclusive untitled MV where Jiyong wear different outfit, bts untitled with lyrics, bts Bullshit mv, untitled mv) - 37 hd photos, 1~2mb each, around 2048x1366p (as of June, 20 '17), with those soft file photos, you can makes your own photocard, photobook, sticker, even phonecase or shirt and jacket. Edit : the content on the link can be update just like dlc on game
then why not include all those in the usb. why we have to do more to download the content. if they want to have special content, they can just include some of those in the usb then give us link that can access extra contents
everyone have different oppinions and I respect them, but for me this is a art, GD's usb is so meaningful to the fact that some people can't understand, the red ink represents jiyong's blood, the name and even the birthdate is too special, I don't know what the real reason why they use download links but I like it more since I need to do an effort for an important song, well a die hard fan buy almost all the merch of his or her idol, even though it's simple, and sometimes they didn't even use it, so same with this album. (sorry for bad english)
I didn't know songs were not included but for the fading ink I have an answer: It reprents G-Dragon's birth, I read that what is writed on the USB is his name, blood tipe and date of birth and it's the hand write of G-Dragon's mother from the day of his birth. The ink represents his birth ("second birth" in a methaforic way) of an artist (or something like that). If I'm gonna be honest, if yhe USB included the songs I will think is an AMAZING concept, but like this, it's like empty of the contest he really wanted to show us.
and songs were not added because gd think that it will be a lot of unresponsible people will download all gd's songs , put it on the usb and sell it. So , gd put the link to make it safer.
I must say that gd is a smart guy. What gd is saying " you buy any kpop album and open it up you expect to see beautiful photo image and etc. it is normal for you. My album you should not expect it. I am breaking that cycle. My music should be more important. That is reason why gd has eye on his album cover. People lay their eyes on his album. People expect normal kpop album with photo book inside. " what you see, it is what you expect " G-dragon - Kwon Ji Yong is not the worst album. It is brilliant album . that speak out.
its funny to read hate comment saying this album is more pricey and not worthy but tbh the one who commented that is the people who dont even buy the album and dont know whats advantage they get by buying this 'useless' USB
it's so sad the fact that most of the people in this comment section doesn't appreciate and understand art. And it IS worthy, we're talking about KWON JIYONG and his amazing music.
And I don't get why are people complaining about the download link and not having the songs on the USB, just DOWNLOAD THEM ON THE USB AND DONE, PROBLEM SOLVED. Lord.
Nicole Marzan then we may as well just buy the songs on iTunes. Just because something is "artistic" doesn't mean it's a good idea. You have to think about practicality as well. I didn't mean to sound to rude sorry._.
Nicole Marzan I get where you are coming from, but its just a USB colored with red marker. If I wanted a red colored USB, I'd buy one for $5 and color it red. If I colored a USB with a blue marker, would it be considered art? No. I love GD and I love how he wanted to be different with this album, but this is a giant rip off. It costs $30 for a download link basically. And yeah it will be updated with time but its not worth it. Some people think its worth it because its GD and honestly would it be considered "inovative" and "art" if it was a different artist who did this first? Probably not. But I'll just buy his album on itunes on my phone and be happy with that 😀
ItsOnlyMe112 You can do it if you want but that doesn't mean this was a bad idea. The link comes with photos of him as well so it's not like just the songs. Also I don't think it's a waste because first, the meaning of this album is really deep and beautiful and I think it should be appreciated. He put a lot of effort on it and we all can see that. And I can't believe there are people who still don't know about the meaning of the red color and all that. So we got it all: the songs, and the pics everyone wanted so badly. I don't see the problem.
Nicole Marzan that may be the case, but it's still not practical. What if you want to get the USB in mint condition, but can't become the red keeps rubbing off (I know it's meant to rub off, but some people like to keep their albums pristine). Plus Tina pointed out that if you want to plug in the USB, you'll have to clean it off otherwise the red marker will get on your computer.
I actually think that the whole idea of the packaging is beautiful. Plus it's a lot more meaningful than a photo book and photo card that you get in pretty much every other kpop album
The USB stick contains a link to material, that will continuously be updated like making ofs, behind the scenes, different version of the mvs, photos and much more extra content. It's actually much more useful than a photo book that you put on a shelf to get dusty.
The fact that G-dragon uses a Usb drive (and downloadable links) instead of the traditional CD is unique and ICONIC. This feels like the most G-dragon thing, without even showing his face. plus praise him because we dont have CD inputs in our laptops anymore. I bought a kpop album but we dont have any working cd/dvd players, luckily I can use the CD for xbox 360 to listen to.
So many complains about the album and I'm just sitting here and waiting for my bro to buy me the album. It's the only kpop album I'm gonna buy and justify the price. It's the only kpop album that I can emotionally connect with. The whole concept and the songs are on another level. With other kpop groups and artist, who I love and enjoy, I don't get the same feeling. I think that they only produce consumable products. I don't need all the pictures and other stuff. That's why this album for me is his best album. Quality over quantity. Sorry for bad English.
i bought it n i love it like hell . it represents gds stories . make effort if u want something. n it featured a priviledged for those who buy so its so worth it . looking forward to his other future work n bigbang members too ! gd love u! whoever dont stan or love u, theyll said this is a waste . let them be . ure a true artist !
why you guys keep on complaining instead of appreciating Jiyong's personal idea on this album. This means a lot to him. If you don't like it don't buy it, don't listen to it. Nobody forced you to check on it anyways.
tbh it doesn't seem worth it because of the bad dye but this is seriously the most coolest album design idea yet, you can import the music to other devices plus you could have a really cool USB to import school work or whatever or pic of Big Bang 🌚🌚💕 Also the music is Pretty fire 👌👌
IDK man it costs like ~2x the price of most kpop mini albums that actually come with various physical goodies that you can touch & yet how ironic it is that you can't even touch this one without ruining the original red aesthetic so at the very least they should probably includes the red marker too so you can paint on the USB again if you prefer the red stain design Iol. Anyway, personally, I feel like there's a lot more prettier & cuter USB albums design out there (with actual songs & videos included in them) so GD's USB design is very pale in comparison for me... Still, I DO understand the design concept of GD's rebirth stuff that they are trying to sell. I do ok, but unless I'm a real hardcore fan of GD who collect all the stuff he offered, it's really not worth my money. Sure, you get a lot of extra digital stuff with the download link but nothing beats the satisfaction of physically touching the albums and admiring the beauty in your hand. It's one of the most important kpop album selling point for me. :))
Sorry to interupt, but it is expensive coz he's GD??? -,- You should know that he worths more than other kpop artist, and to get something from a person that is one level above, you gotta pay more for it. If you really observe, same things goes to other BB albums (expensive than other groups). I even know a group that gives so much for only around 10usd? But when the popularity increase, the price for the album will get higher too. As simple as that. :)
First Last That's still a shit excuse. The USB 'album' is not worth the outrageous price given the little amount of effort that went into it. Especially when comparing it to much better USB albums. YG fans just love to get ripped off I guess. Hope you guys enjoy your mediocre physical albums forever.
GD just kept it simple. Not everything needs to be cute or glamorous or fancy schmansy. Yeah, it's really overpriced, but no one's forcing you to buy it. Unless you're so rich you can blow your nose in cash, it's not worth it.
aiken relkins why are u complaining when infact its not ur money. Just shut up . Let them do what they want idiot. Its not about the physical album but on the music. What will u do to ur amazing, aesthetic and elegant album if the music/s on it arent as good as the phys album? Before u whine there, be sure ur idols sold a lot of physcal album than GD. Hypocrite! Hahahaha Ur idol's album are more cheaper than GD's album yet GD still sold alot than urs. So shut up okay? Hahahaha
OMG!! its really my dream to have a GD or BB album. I wish i could buy it!!! i really wanted to buy!! i swear. This is so art and another master piece. I think GD and BB should build a museum!! Actually IDC if the price is expensive i mean as a fan, im already used that BB or GD have an expensive thing. Like their made concert cost 3x than a kpop artist or group concert. Then the made album also cost 2x than a kpop group or artists album. BB or GD's worth are already equivalent to big western artists.
I read the comments and had to copy and paste what I said on a post because it's absolutely ridiculous how many "VIPS" are being ungrateful. Keep in mind that when I wrote this, the album had not come out yet. I preordered mine and it costed me $37.09 and I can say it's worth it. Many "VIPS" who are complaining are taking this for granted. After all don't judge a book by its cover. If you want the USB, then buy it. If you don't and prefer it on iTunes or something then keep your mouth shut. Damn, it hasn't even come out and y'all are already complaining about something I'm tired of this kind of crap. Appreciate the fact that he took the time to make music, he could have just kept this all to himself or even delayed/canceled the whole thing because of the situation with TOP but he didn't. Be grateful.
G-Dragon's Wife being a fan includes criticizing your faves in hopes that they'll improve for the better. so yes giving negative input or complaining is okay as long it's not overboard, if anything it means those vips really care about GD and that's why they want his next physical album to be better. if you think it's worth it, you're entitled to your opinion, but that doesnt mean vips who complained are less of a fan than you are.
cuckoo I barely saw this but what I'm saying is a bit true, you have to remember GD wasn't in condition to do all this and he still released it. You can easily tell how stressed out he is, with the weight loss and TOP + Loneliness, etc. I know fans can criticize his albums but even you said yourself as long as it's not overboard which it is. If you don't respect my opinion then don't comment. Those kind of people who have the guts to pressure other people who are trying their best are ungrateful. That's why I didn't want to call them VIPS. All I'm trying to say, is that if you're going to complain don't try to stop other people from buying it. Put yourself in his shoes for once, it's hard being a kpop idol.
winner innercircle Okay now that pisses me the fuck off (excuse my language) but who are you to say this album is one of the worst in history? He tried his best, in my opinion it's one of the best. He expressed himself and not GD. This album also has many pros. If you loose it then it's not his fault, learn to be responsible. Again I'm sorry for my language, as I'm still trying to respect your opinion but it's difficult.
winner winner First of all learn grammar, no offense I barely understood what you said. Second of all, I said if you don't like my opinon don't reply. It's as simple as that. I really want to see how you would release music after your best friend tried commuting suicide, as well as making the music video, photo shoots, tour and for gods sake just being an idol. Wait, are you ah idol? No? Okay then please be quiet cause I'm sure you wouldn't be happy if you're going through a lot and all of your supposed "fans " are being jerks. Plus GD isn't forcing you to buy his album, like I said if you didn't the album then be quiet cause you're literally whining about NOTHING. If you don't want the USB but want the songs, go buy them on iTunes or something. On that hand his songs are better than most songs these days, they're personal and are about Kwon Jiyong not G-Dragon! I'm sure if it was G-Dragon it would have been a more fancy album but it's not, it's something Kwon Jiyong thought defined him the best. Appreciate it. Btw do some research cause you're sounding ignorant, the reason it costs that much is because it has many perks and can be updated at anytime, we the people who bought the USB are going to get to see the BullShit MV and I already saw his other version of the Untitled 2014. And the reasons you have to download is because they want to prevent viruses.
i have no problems with GD's new album and all, but guys other people have already came up with this USB concept years ago. Ayumi Hamasaki for example, already did this, with beautiful design which fits even to wear as a necklace and if im remember correctly, GOT7 right? they also did the same. GD's music was always the subject to praise, thats a fact but calling him genius because he decided to put his links to download the music inside a fade out color USB, wasnt that a totally biased opinion? the fact is, he was NOT the one who came with this idea, somebody else already did and kindly give the credit where its due guys. of course his idea to potrays himself as the newborn of Kwon Ji Yong when the red color rubs off sounds creative, just that it went totally wrong when you charged 30 dollars for an almost empty case and your fans seems to be doing lots of work; just to download your songs. i have nothing against his music really, even i have lots of his songs in my playlist but please refrain yourself from saying his USB concept was a genius, other people already did it. its not like he was the first one in the whole world who first use the USB as his new album. so peace, 😁
I really don't know why everybody is complaining about download links. It is expensive, but I feel this when i think about the cost when it comes to "not including a photobook" thing. But download links? I don't see a difference. Actually, I like it more, because I have to spend some time achieving the songs&photos&videos. I would feel more emotional connected. It is the same music - seriously, where is the difference?
ok but what if that someone dont have a laptop or computer and bought the usb on their phone? then what? sorry but i have to agree with some fans. paying 40 dollars for a empty usb isnt worth it. he should already put the songs in the usb, also let the red design be permenant and atleast add a photobook in there. i would of bought that. but thats not the case seeing its too late for that. but see you can get your money's worth buying a album with the cd, photobook and photocard. no disrespect to GD cause im a big fan but he needs to make a cd, photobook and photocard edition.
I think that it really depends on what you are doing everyday, where you are living etc. I personally don't like the cd's, I don't buy them at all. For me, they are just not important/useless things. My computer can't even play a cd, so i wouldn't do anything with it. I use my computer everyday - and I'm downloading a lot of videos/books/games every week. I like photobooks, I would love to see the one with GD, but I know that after first time seeing it, I would leave it somewhere where it would stay until I will sell it. I don't have anything to do with photocard too. So it really depends on the person what he/she thinks about that USB :)
to me and obviously to others, if he would of already put the songs in the usb, added a photobook and photocard then it would be worth the purchase. but also others feel the need of a cd, photobook and photocard edition. cd's are useless? you never had a radio, a laptop that has a dvd/ blu ray player or a car with a cd player?
i respect your comment and all but its very understandable why everyone is upset, the idea isn't bad but the quality is shit, people pay 40/30 dollars to buy a usb with no songs that you to download, when you buy an album you expect to have songs already in the cd, i think it was a nice idea to put it in a usb but they could of put the songs on the usb instead or selling a 40 dollar usb with nothing on it, they didn't give anything else in the album, i love GD but i think Yg was just too lazy to actually put effort into the album design.
no he is not 3 other artists did this before him!! 1)The first Korean artist to release an album in USB format was the veteran rock-ballad artist, Kim Jang Hoon He released his 10th studio album “adieu” in the USB format in 2012, making him the first Korean artist to release a USB album. 2)In 2014, GOT7 released a special edition version of their first album in USB format ,The USB was even shaped as the members of the group, making it a true collectible for fans. 3)Lastly, in February 2017, Lee Seung Gi released a special anthology album which featured his best tracks in USB format.
Nana Okay, you don't have to make a big deal. I am sorry. I thought he was and I recently found out that his album was a USB and I thought it was cool. I do not have the chance to look up every single unboxing and know the groups who do this or have the chance to buy them. I like Kpop but I can not keep up with the many comebacks and albums that come out
Hey ItsMe no I'm not really concerned but I just copied and pasted an article I was reading a min ago that was listing this.. and I'm not a fan of either of them I just was reading the comment and thought I should correct you since alot of people think he was the first and it's not fair for the other artists!! GD and YG did it differently and he put the link of the music and not the actual music thats why people was talking about it and gaon didn't count as a physical album!!!
Hey ItsMe So many artists did the USB concept before him (GOT7 and other solo artistd) and executed it waaaayyy better, used proper methods so it wouldn't be a waste of money and satisfy the fans and the buying public.
I know a lot of people are questioning the quality of the physical album because of the dye and lack of content that comes with the physical copy. While I understand their perspective, I personally think those people should consider the fact that most of GD's album sales are digital, while it's mainly only VIPs that buy the physical copy of his album. I think that is what pushed GD to think outside the box and not only make his physical album different but also very personal in a manner that is interactive with his dedicated fans. The physical is expensive, but like I said, it's mainly VIPs that are going to buy it anyway while the general public gets it digitally. In addition, the USB link format allows GD to upload content in the future and already contains bonus content. Even if you buy the album before his other MVs come out, you'll be able to download them and other content through your link. I understand why many people would not be totally on board with the idea but I personally thought it was clever and unique. I don't think GD wanted to give fans a concept. Instead, I think he aimed to create an experience that allowed fans to fully engage in what he was trying to say through this album. I actually really like it, red dye and all. Btw, Thanks for the upload!
OK I KNOW THE USB CONCEPT IS REALLY UNIQUE AND PRETY COOL FOR OUR GENERATION BUT seriously it doesn't worth the money and whats really shocked me there is nothing at all only an USB ?? at least photocard for your fans or doing another version by cd and photocard and photobook like a normal one. idk if this album gd idea or yg idea but they need to not try it again
before we conclude..we already knew that YG AND GD has its original concept/plans about it..they knew also about its fading dye..maybe their reason for this is.. before u listen to his songs u need to take off first those dye for you to notice what they've had written on it as those red dye represents the blood(hardship/struggle/etc) of GD
Thanks for unboxing. It really is just a USB in a jewel case, with no music. I guess if you are a collector or a hardcore fan this would be worth purchasing because of the symbolism. As a casual fan and as someone who prefers photos in print, I think I will just get it off iTunes.
I was surprised at first that the USB didn't include the songs. But with the link in the USB we have access to songs , exclusive photos, MVs of Untitled ( both the one that is already on RUclips and one that is only available on this website). Plus they will keep adding new content exclusive only for the website over time. So we keep receiving new content after we bought the album. We can chose what to save on the USB and what not. Yes it's not the most practical album ever but I think it's pretty unique and creative. Just like GD. And to everyone that complain about the quality of the USB or the ink .All the USBS were handmade. It was intentional for the red ink to stain on the USB, in order to portray the concepts of GD's DNA and being inside a mother's womb. You are supposed to clean the USB from the red ink. it's just like when we are born and we are covered in blood and the nurse clean us. This album is like the rebirth of GD. The handwriting on the USB, 'Kwon Ji Yong' is also the handwriting of GD's mother from when GD was first born. And And it was actually GD's idea to make a USB and not a CD. So this time it's not YG's " fault" if we don't have a CD.
I know YG like to push boundaries, but seriously what even is this? They charge $30 for what seems to be a badly dyed USB stick that doesn't even have any music on in a plastic case. Is it really that hard to make a photo book and a CD?
AdzPower I would be so pissed too like the USB symbolism is great idea. But if this USB cost $30 not worth it at all I've seen lots of Korean albums and it has better quality than this. If this unboxing had photo book and actually physical songs on the USB and not just a link I would definitely buy.
To be completely honest, I did feel a bit ripped off when I found out they wouldn't include the songs in the USB. I still don't understand why they didn't. Even in YG's explanation they said the music is what's important... so why didn't they bother to include the songs if they are that important, instead of just giving a download link?
Its funny that YG says music is important since they give their artists like one musical release every two years, at least that's what it feels like sometimes anyway. Their "explanation" for the USB was laughable.
well, i think it's more safe and special if there's no music and just a link download. if we got just the music, we can just hear about what is already on the usb, but if we got the link we can got everything not just the music but also the photos, and maybe if there's a new song of gd, we can get it from the link. it such a revolution of CD Album 😍
i actually like the idea, even the "blood" thing. My only problem with this is that the usb doesn't come with the songs. You are paying for a link that the YG said it expires at the end of the year so ???? how do you call that "an album"?. But the usb it's cute. The idea is not that bad, what is bad it's the execution.
Been waiting for you to do this unboxing ❤️, about the songs is the downloading for free? Or do I have to pay for it to download? Or everything for free only that I have to download them? I hope you notice this 😁
I have to disagree with the people in the comments I think the album cover, design, and concept is one of the coolest I've ever seen! I'm one for cheap things and bargains but really I think $30 isn't that bad. A regular cd is usually at least $20 and some tshirts online are $40. The style and design of the USB,including the dye, is honestly one of the most artistic and aesthetic things I've seen.
Whaaaaaat This doesn't even come with a photobook? Just a bland jewel case with the pendrive that doesn't even contain any songs? Hell no GD is my ultimate favourite artist and I own all of his albums but this? I'm gonna pass. I was excited about the pendrive and the artsy idea of the red ink representing the blood and all but damn I had no idea that they won't even include a couple of photos inside the packaging. And for that price? That's insane The pendrive is cool with the whole idea even if it doesn't contain any songs but would it hurt to give it a nice packaging instead of a jewel case and include a photobook? For that price it's so not worth it and I'm disappointed 'cause I was really excited to add another GD album to my collection. I guess it's not gonna happen
aiken relkins Yeah, and what do you think it's the purpose of that link?? *eyeroll* You open the link and there's songs, photos and videos to download.
i think they had a creative idea but executed horribly. the songs are not in the usb and the paint comes off (which yg said it was "intentional"). it's just not worth it. compare it to $20 dollar album with high quality photobooks, songs INCLUDED, photocard, stickers, goodies, nice packaging and this just fades off. just a lazy album with hella nice songs. sorry :c
koala's bobabox actually the red paint thing is ment to come off and is infact " intentional" bcuz you are supposed to rub that paint off to reveal the vintage USB and his birthday if im not mistaken but i do agree with you at some point like if they atleast included a photobook or maybe photo postcards or sth maybe it would be worth it but yeah...they didnt do that. I was close to buying it but when i knew it had no songs but a link and no photobook, cards, postcards and what not my dad said not to. Its quite sad really...
the usb has photos and some alternative videos in it along with the song in the link; (if i am not mistaken) but still, it's not really worth it. and they supposedly update the link with new content - like mvs for example, but still... considering that the digital album is 4 dollars and you pay 30 dollars for a ubs (thats like 4 gbs so its not more than a 2-3 dollars)
I understand your opinion but for die-hard fans who want an additional collector's item, it's fine. To each their own preference. I even still ordered one despite the "controversy". I find the whole USB idea cool, but that's just me. :)
somehow don't get how a download link on a USB leads to heated discussions. If there are willing buyers then there are willing sellers. Album sales are likely not their concern.
I think this is a cool idea, and the symbolism is interesting, but I don't see how the red ink rubbing off is a good idea? They could have just easily sprayed a protective finish to prevent the mess that comes with the ink rubbing off. I know it symbolizes blood, but it would be more practical to print the text more visibly instead of rubbing the red ink off.
I am willing to buy this usb album but the only problem is the money.. I dont mind rubbing the red ink off and download the songs from the download link and get photos and pictures like a photobook inside the USB but.. the pricing is too high..
lars s .... there are Download links with serial numbers to access which means u don"t have to pay to get what ur getting , plus the Links Update so every time ur gettin something different from it , Like Bullshit Behind the scenes MV and Untitled, 2014 Behind the scenes ... but first of all u get the album , and they weren't included in the usb just cuz some PCs could damage the files and viruse it so GD thought of this idea to prevent this problem
I find this idea of USB Album really cool, even the paint coming off is cool and all but it should have had the songs and maybe a photobook along with the album would have been a better deal.
i still want to buy this tbh. despite the expensive price, if i have money ofc. actually people can bad talking this album but guess what, a lot of people still buy it anyway.
TBH, I agree that the download links would be such a hassle, cuz I'm lazy af, but the concept is good and I would buy two, maybe three? Despite me not even liking gd just cuz 1. It's a hella cool concept. 2. One Album to keep pristine, one album to run off the red dye, one album to have a cool USB I can use for work lol~
But really tho... Alot of fandom are saying that yall got scammed so this is what the issue is all about. I gotta say, I appreciate the meaning behind the blood that's art actually and the usb as an album isnt that bad of an idea too. It might be the start of a new trend. But the thing is ... First, the price isnt reasonable (atleast realize that) considering what's inside the packaging I dont get why they came up with that amount. Also, why do they have to put the download link instead of just simply importing the songs? For the charts? If so, They are very clever. OK before someone tell me to stfu, let me just say that I know where the "mind your own fandom's business"-thingy coming from. I'm just speaking as another member of the kpop community (not everything is about fanwars) Some have no ill intention really... we are genuinely worried that yall might be taken advantage of, that's it.
They didn't put the songs directly inside the USB because it's really easy to import viruses into a USB. Let's say you have a virused computer. You put the USB in it and all the viruses are transfered immediately into the USB and the content can be lost immediately. Which means, you paid a lot of money for nothing. But in addition to the songs, there's also a lot of HD photos and videos.
I Don't Give A 쉿 it's actually reasonable cause you can find pic and videos which you cannot find in the internet and also plus ,remember this pen drive is coloured using hand not machines and overall if you think back this is worth it bcs the reason behind why they made it into these type have a lot of meaning
girl, u were supposed to hide that access code xd even the link says "you can take legal responsibilities for unauthorized duplication and circulation of the serial number and link".
Lady’s i’m such a big fan of gd since i’m 11 but this? i really acknowledge the value of his art and that his music is HELLA GOOD but this is capitalism brainwashing us yes we love him but 30 dollars for this?? with photocards and a photo album i think it’s okay.
I think the idea of this album/usb is because gd want people to ‘appreciate’ his music more, not because of his ‘face’ 😅
true
It's always been bigbang principle
GD's not forcing anyone to buy the album anyway lmao
- songs (wav and mp3 files)
- 4 videos so far (2 exclusive video), 1080p, 150 ~300mb (exclusive untitled MV where Jiyong wear different outfit, bts untitled with lyrics, bts Bullshit mv, untitled mv)
- 37 hd photos, 1~2mb each, around 2048x1366p (as of June, 20 '17), with those soft file photos, you can makes your own photocard, photobook, sticker, even phonecase or shirt and jacket.
Edit : the content on the link can be update just like dlc on game
then why not include all those in the usb. why we have to do more to download the content. if they want to have special content, they can just include some of those in the usb then give us link that can access extra contents
maimee to prevent your file lost/got viruses, imagine they put the content in the usb and got virus...
they can make it locked usb
The content on the link can be update tho 😐
I don't mind the USB. It's convenient. It's that we have to download the content ourselves is my problem.
everyone have different oppinions and I respect them, but for me this is a art, GD's usb is so meaningful to the fact that some people can't understand, the red ink represents jiyong's blood, the name and even the birthdate is too special, I don't know what the real reason why they use download links but I like it more since I need to do an effort for an important song, well a die hard fan buy almost all the merch of his or her idol, even though it's simple, and sometimes they didn't even use it, so same with this album. (sorry for bad english)
Eich Rivera year later but I like your comments
I didn't know songs were not included but for the fading ink I have an answer: It reprents G-Dragon's birth, I read that what is writed on the USB is his name, blood tipe and date of birth and it's the hand write of G-Dragon's mother from the day of his birth. The ink represents his birth ("second birth" in a methaforic way) of an artist (or something like that). If I'm gonna be honest, if yhe USB included the songs I will think is an AMAZING concept, but like this, it's like empty of the contest he really wanted to show us.
I love this commenti.
I love this comment**
purpleserein & sunshine Thank you 😊
and songs were not added because gd think that it will be a lot of unresponsible people will download all gd's songs , put it on the usb and sell it. So , gd put the link to make it safer.
And your link gets updated with new content. What is there not to like about that?
I must say that gd is a smart guy. What gd is saying " you buy any kpop album and open it up you expect to see beautiful photo image and etc. it is normal for you. My album you should not expect it. I am breaking that cycle. My music should be more important. That is reason why gd has eye on his album cover. People lay their eyes on his album. People expect normal kpop album with photo book inside.
" what you see, it is what you expect " G-dragon - Kwon Ji Yong is not the worst album. It is brilliant album . that speak out.
This comment is brilliant
its funny to read hate comment saying this album is more pricey and not worthy but tbh the one who commented that is the people who dont even buy the album and dont know whats advantage they get by buying this 'useless' USB
it's so sad the fact that most of the people in this comment section doesn't appreciate and understand art.
Thank you for this awesome unboxing Tina! I am so glad GD released this amazing album and is going on a tour before going to the military :)
I bought a kpop album but we dont have any working cd/dvd players, luckily I can use the CD for xbox 360 to listen to.
the shortest video of Tina i guess 😂😂😂😂
fyda musa its short but trust me its not the shortest 😂😂
taesty suga kookies and a jamless monster omg yass it's not the shortest one haha my bad 😂😂😂
I think the shortest was the unboxing of IOI's Hand in Hand? That was like 30 seconds
ni hao minghao I think so too haha
ni hao minghao i think other channel unbox i.o.i's hand in hand with 30 seconds Tina unbox ioi hand in hand in 50 seconds
BGM : INTRO. 권지용 (Middle Fingers-Up)
So many complains about the album and I'm just sitting here and waiting for my bro to buy me the album.
Nobody forced you to check on it anyways.
tbh it doesn't seem worth it because of the bad dye but this is seriously the most coolest album design idea yet, you can import the music to other devices plus you could have a really cool USB to import school work or whatever or pic of Big Bang 🌚🌚💕
Also the music is Pretty fire 👌👌
Panicattheladevotee so the usb isn't locked? you could actually use it?
Panicattheladevotee it's not bad dye, it's meant to rub off
Panicattheladevotee toppklass!❤️
It's represent gd's blood when he was born tho. So thats why the colour fading off.
Panicattheladevotee Is meant to be like that and the content is what really matters
I think it was a great idea but it was a waste on such amazing songs, and it's very expensive for what it is
Clara Lyle obviously it should be expensive it's kwon jiyong
My point is for the physicality it is very expensive, I agree that his music should be worth that much but not in this form
@@igot7armyvipaomgyoungjaese553 EXACTLY HAHAHAHHAAH GD AND KWON JIYONG IS EXPENSIVE.
This was a genius idea. GDragon has a very eccentric art style, he's an artistic genius. Let him be.
+aiken relkins you're not even his fans why tf you complaining it more than his actual fans
Hahahaha
I don't think it's actually dye. I remember there was a photo of it being colored in with a red marker.
My bad, I thought dye was the correct term. I guess me not having English as a first language does show at times >.
Tina Davidsson don't apologize! A lot of people called it dye (including native English speakers haha). Don't feel bad ^^
I thought Yg say that it was red paint??
Nadine Wong they actually used red marker. There was a photo of it.
it would make a lot of sense because I have a marker that has the exact same effect.
OMG!! its really my dream to have a GD or BB album. BB or GD's worth are already equivalent to big western artists.
too bad the USB red colour fades away
USB drive memory isn’t forever honestly, last I heard, it’s only reliable for 5-8 years
Reading the comments and thinking that it's really easy to influence people... kind of understand how dictators are/were able to control people.
WaWa What do you mean?
G-Dragon worked his ass off for at least 10 years to be able to influence people nowadays. So yeah, not so easy.
The fact that fans will find tons of excuses just to defend their idol.
you are really comparing this to dictators lmfao
I saw a lot of people complaining about the price, the fading ink, and the download link. If you don't want to buy it, then don't. It's that simple.
Omg the best usb album ever🤙🏼 thanks for unboxing🔥🔥
You're welcome ^.^
Great unboxing as always, Tina.
Tbh I feel like they don't deserve to even call themselves "vips"
Tina are you planning you getting TWICEs Japan album in the future?
YG and GD just too busy, don't have time to take photoshoot for photo book 😂
Hahaha, but there's a lot of HD photos and videos inside the USB, though. 😂😀
I am excited for the album to arrive!!!
i have no problems with GD's new album and all, but guys other people have already came up with this USB concept years ago. Ayumi Hamasaki for example, already did this, with beautiful design which fits even to wear as a necklace and if im remember correctly, GOT7 right? they also did the same. GD's music was always the subject to praise, thats a fact but calling him genius because he decided to put his links to download the music inside a fade out color USB, wasnt that a totally biased opinion? the fact is, he was NOT the one who came with this idea, somebody else already did and kindly give the credit where its due guys. of course his idea to potrays himself as the newborn of Kwon Ji Yong when the red color rubs off sounds creative, just that it went totally wrong when you charged 30 dollars for an almost empty case and your fans seems to be doing lots of work; just to download your songs. i have nothing against his music really, even i have lots of his songs in my playlist but please refrain yourself from saying his USB concept was a genius, other people already did it. its not like he was the first one in the whole world who first use the USB as his new album. so peace, 😁
It’s not the medium(usb concept) that makes it controversial. ruclips.net/video/9lSyfcinJ4k/видео.html
I really don't know why everybody is complaining about download links.
It is expensive, but I feel this when i think about the cost when it
comes to "not including a photobook" thing. But download links? I don't
see a difference. Actually, I like it more, because I have to spend some
time achieving the songs&photos&videos. I would feel more
emotional connected. It is the same music - seriously, where is the
difference?
ok but what if that someone dont have a laptop or computer and bought the usb on their phone? then what? sorry but i have to agree with some fans. paying 40 dollars for a empty usb isnt worth it. he should already put the songs in the usb, also let the red design be permenant and atleast add a photobook in there. i would of bought that. but thats not the case seeing its too late for that. but see you can get your money's worth buying a album with the cd, photobook and photocard. no disrespect to GD cause im a big fan but he needs to make a cd, photobook and photocard edition.
Yin Yang I agree with you. I don't even have a laptop nor computer so this isn't really my kind of physical purchase cause I can't work with it
I think that it really depends on what you are doing everyday, where you are living etc.
WA there isn't even a paper photobook
Thank you for the unboxing. I really want to buy this album and it looks cool also because only GD can do a USB album. What is your favorite song?
juhoudew I know others can do a USB but he was the first.
no he is not 3 other artists did this before him!!
And
And it was actually GD's idea to make a USB and not a CD.
AdzPower n to Tina too. i hope you read YG explanation about bad dyed usb. and it's a life time investment since they update the content in link...
AdzPower and you have to wash all the ink on the usb to get the real "vintage" usb.
Its funny that YG says music is important since they give their artists like one musical release every two years, at least that's what it feels like sometimes anyway. Their "explanation" for the USB was laughable.
Woah, nice idea. Something not mainstream and I kinda like this idea : D
well, i think it's more safe and special if there's no music and just a link download. if we got just the music, we can just hear about what is already on the usb, but if we got the link we can got everything not just the music but also the photos, and maybe if there's a new song of gd, we can get it from the link. it such a revolution of CD Album 😍
I love this! your nails are so pretty too 💅
OMG this concept is really good so far and i gess gd should better add his photo album kkk 😆😆 hehe
i actually like the idea, even the "blood" thing. My only problem with this is that the usb doesn't come with the songs. You are paying for a link that the YG said it expires at the end of the year so ???? how do you call that "an album"?. But the usb it's cute. The idea is not that bad, what is bad it's the execution.
Wow this album is... um.... weird....... btw take care Tina!!
The USB is like a baby that was born.... Red in blood at the beggining but when you clean it it turnes...CLEAN! WAHHHH
Been waiting for you to do this unboxing ❤️, about the songs is the downloading for free? Or do I have to pay for it to download? Or everything for free only that I have to download them? I hope you notice this 😁
Yep it's free
thanks! now i think i should buy this haha
Oh gawd! Lots of people didn't get the idea at all TT^TT
Everyone here being mad asf and taking shit but GD ain't forcing you to buy it
omg you're so lucky you got it 😍😍
Whaaaaaat
This doesn't even come with a photobook? Just a bland jewel case with the pendrive that doesn't even contain any songs? Hell no
GD is my ultimate favourite artist and I own all of his albums but this? I'm gonna pass. I was excited about the pendrive and the artsy idea of the red ink representing the blood and all but damn I had no idea that they won't even include a couple of photos inside the packaging. And for that price? That's insane
The pendrive is cool with the whole idea even if it doesn't contain any songs but would it hurt to give it a nice packaging instead of a jewel case and include a photobook? For that price it's so not worth it and I'm disappointed 'cause I was really excited to add another GD album to my collection. I guess it's not gonna happen
edzia13131 there's photos & the songs in the usb .
seungris ramen shop Correction, there's a link inside the USB, no songs.
aiken relkins Yeah, and what do you think it's the purpose of that link?? *eyeroll*
You open the link and there's songs, photos and videos to download.
G-Dragon kept it simple, not everything needs to be super fancy. But hey, at least it could have been more cheaper...
There's a code on the album where u can watch the bullshit mv.
I love your videos 💖
i think they had a creative idea but executed horribly. the songs are not in the usb and the paint comes off (which yg said it was "intentional"). it's just not worth it. compare it to $20 dollar album with high quality photobooks, songs INCLUDED, photocard, stickers, goodies, nice packaging and this just fades off. just a lazy album with hella nice songs. sorry :c
koala's bobabox actually the red paint thing is ment to come off and is infact " intentional" bcuz you are supposed to rub that paint off to reveal the vintage USB and his birthday if im not mistaken but i do agree with you at some point like if they atleast included a photobook or maybe photo postcards or sth maybe it would be worth it but yeah...they didnt do that. I was close to buying it but when i knew it had no songs but a link and no photobook, cards, postcards and what not my dad said not to. Its quite sad really...
the usb has photos and some alternative videos in it along with the song in the link; (if i am not mistaken) but still, it's not really worth it.
and they supposedly update the link with new content - like mvs for example, but still...
considering that the digital album is 4 dollars and you pay 30 dollars for a ubs (thats like 4 gbs so its not more than a 2-3 dollars)
koala's bobabox I agree. I know they could do better than this..
I understand your opinion but for die-hard fans who want an additional collector's item, it's fine. To each their own preference. I even still ordered one despite the "controversy". I find the whole USB idea cool, but that's just me. :)
Kirstienne Toledo the usb idea is cool! please suppo4r other artists who also did this with a usb!
comes with a download link, once we download the music can we put it on the usb
wait so theres conpletely no songs inside the usb?? then what for people buy this?? i dont get it ?
somehow don't get how a download link on a USB leads to heated discussions. If there are willing buyers then there are willing sellers. Album sales are likely not their concern.
it's represent something yea😏 this album is kinda symbolizing some stuff, but yeah idk. but actually it seems so aesthetic i love itl
i'm waiting for mine to come🙌🙌🙌🙌
I think this is a cool idea, and the symbolism is interesting, but I don't see how the red ink rubbing off is a good idea? They could have just easily sprayed a protective finish to prevent the mess that comes with the ink rubbing off. I know it symbolizes blood, but it would be more practical to print the text more visibly instead of rubbing the red ink off.
I am willing to buy this usb album but the only problem is the money.. I dont mind rubbing the red ink off and download the songs from the download link and get photos and pictures like a photobook inside the USB but.. the pricing is too high..
what do you do with the usb?
lars s it's like album, there is songs and others which is not release publicly
lars s .... there are Download links with serial numbers to access which means u don"t have to pay to get what ur getting , plus the Links Update so every time ur gettin something different from it , Like Bullshit Behind the scenes MV and Untitled, 2014 Behind the scenes ... but first of all u get the album , and they weren't included in the usb just cuz some PCs could damage the files and viruse it so GD thought of this idea to prevent this problem
THE COOLEST ALBUM I'VE EVER SEEN. DAMN KWON JIYONG.
I really want it but I just realized that I don't even have a computer I can use it on 😂
I find this idea of USB Album really cool, even the paint coming off is cool and all but it should have had the songs and maybe a photobook along with the album would have been a better deal.
YG uses red markers to paint on the usb 😶
the "red dye" is just red marker
i still want to buy this tbh. despite the expensive price, if i have money ofc. actually people can bad talking this album but guess what, a lot of people still buy it anyway.
Can people stop complaining? It is art. Its supposed to make you feel things
those people who said this is unworthy...........
YOU DONT UNDERSTAND ART.
STRONG POWER THANK YOU.
Gd is a Genius artist ❤
Idc if people are saying its art, it's a waste of money. Especially for the fans paying for it.
i’m literally here just cause the owl house cameo
Hello! Please leave a link in the description, because I can not find
From where did you purchase your korean album? Help me please 😽
Yiroshi thank you, but from which seller, YG entertainment?
you put the usb into the computer and it has all the songs/videos on it or???
Thanks for ur demonstration! :D
honestly im too broke to get this so im hoping to just find a cd with the songs, is tgsre an official cd out there?
about the YG version, it also has a fan. How can you use that?
(sorry for my bad English)
If i buy it now, is it still with red ink?
PureS0u1 yes
Thanks for making this. I wish I could afford it :(
TBH, I agree that the download links would be such a hassle, cuz I'm lazy af, but the concept is good and I would buy two, maybe three? Despite me not even liking gd just cuz 1. It's a hella cool concept. 2. One Album to keep pristine, one album to run off the red dye, one album to have a cool USB I can use for work lol~
don’t get those that is criticising i find this idea pretty cool and unique
Nadine Wong I'm aware of the things you said
thanks for worrying about us being taken advantage of. *proceeds to buy GD's usb album*
javher It's not like you shouldnt 🙊
can the pendrive be use as a normal pendrive?
girl, u were supposed to hide that access code xd even the link says "you can take legal responsibilities for unauthorized duplication and circulation of the serial number and link".
Gdragon & No one is possessing or forcing you to buy anyway MOVEE
i really want to buy this so badly 😣
It was a really nice idea but i wouldn't have bought it. I love the photoalbums and photocards. I like the old fashioned way more than a USB stick :/
Wait USB album is a thing now ??
There is a CD version if the USB version does not interest you, However the cd version was only released in Japan.
Lady’s i’m such a big fan of gd since i’m 11 but this? i really acknowledge the value of his art and that his music is HELLA GOOD but this is capitalism brainwashing us yes we love him but 30 dollars for this?? with photocards and a photo album i think it’s okay.
I found The usb idea really cool no one actually does that
People who are not gd's fan complains more than the actual fans smh
Anybody here after hearing about the North Korea news?
