Hi everyone! 👋I hope you enjoyed my first travel vlog to Poland. #PLEASENOTE: out of respect, I did not film much about the Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau Tour. Some of the things I saw made me quite emotional, and I needed to process my thoughts which was the reason I snipped a lot out of this video, BUT for those interested in hearing more about this tour, the tour took half a day, and after leaving, I spent my time back at the hotel for another 4 hours before heading back out for dinner in the late evening. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting this tour as it goes without saying, it is important to learn more about our history because we must never forget the outrageous crimes and atrocities that were committed by the Nazis. This tour was beyond eye-opening and I pay much respect to all. I booked my tour through #Viator and I would like to thank him for sharing his incredible knowledge. He was extremely informative and organised!
As a Pole, I'm stuffed with dumplings, my favorite dumplings are those with blueberries, but they are seasonal. Żurek with egg and white sausage is eaten on Easter, it should be well seasoned with herbs and not too sour. Red borscht in a cup to drink is very warming and very healthy for the liver. I like to eat pork chop with red beetroot salad. When eating food, you need to be moderate because żurek and dumplings are very filling. The dishes you order are typical dishes ordered by tourists, but I suggest ordering chicken livers fried with onions, you need to add salt to them because when frying, do not add salt as it would make them hard - it has to be poultry liver, not liver, because it is different. Try Polish cakes like cheesecake , apple pie or poppy seed cake. I don't know what else you are visiting in Poland, but nearby is the capital of the Polish mountains - Zakopane, with a completely different culture and architecture, and in restaurants you can be lucky to see highlanders in their folk costumes and their music.
You should visit Toruń next time. There is a good connection from Birmingham to Bydgoszcz and easy and quick access to Toruń. Toruń is called the Krakow of the north, it has, among others, the second largest bell in terms of size and the second number of class 0 (world class) monuments after Krakow, it is also included on the UNESCO list. Toruń is much smaller, but also cheaper.
That trumpet in Kraków is played since the times of Mongol invasion in early middle ages, a soldier used the trumpet to awake and warn the city from surprise mongol horde attack,. the legend says he died by mongol arrow and that's why the signal played has a moment when it suddenly ends. The guy saved the city btw. ; on15:32 you were supposed to use it as butter on the bread 😀
Hello and greetings from Wrocław, the Lower Silesian province of Poland! POWER HINT: Poland's true beauty can be found OUTSIDE the large cities (although you cannot deny the cities their respective unique atmospheres).
15.42 Quite an expensive restaurant-I can see from the menu, old Polish zurek soup 36 zloties, depending on the exchange rate that is something like seven pounds in British currency. I think that I shall stick to McDonalds!
Haha I was waiting for someone to comment this. Chodzi o kąt kamery i sposób, w jaki jest filmowany... because I film myself selfie mode but if you check 15:57, the knife is on the right which is how I eat :)
