So glad I came across this video. Can barely eat any volume of food. Like an orange, 4oz applesauce, 1 chicken tender and about 4oz water and I'm stuffed like can't breathe. Add congestive heart failure and it's become not fun. I know there is something going on in my stomache. 2 doctures I've seen say it CHF. Going to see a specialist now after seeing this video. Thank it was like a class in medical school would be I imagine or close.
HH is a big cause of Roemheld Syndrome. Look it up. Dr’s haven’t a clue what it is. It causes cardiac pain and chest pain among a lot of other painful symptoms. We who suffer would sure like Dr’s in school to be educated on it given HH is the leading symptom of the syndrome. The standard for this sort of complaint is heart tests, stomach, esophagus tests which usually have the dr say, gee you only have a HH. Heart and stomach fine. The vagal, stomach cardiac connection is strong and causes a lot of issues. I wish dr’s were taught this or at least have open minds as to it’s possibility.

Amazingly helpful. I’ve had a CT scan today and get results on Wednesday. The doctor has already set expectations to prepare for surgery and recovery. So I have getting myself up to date. My symptoms have been crippling me, so I am hoping I have a hernia, as this can be fixed.
How was your CT? How are you doing now?

Thank you doctor u made me understanding my condition. By the way phreno has nothing to do with diaphragm. It means brake in Greek. So actually the meaning of phreno-esophageal ligament is like brake-esophageal ligament. Thanks again.

I havr gerd and dysphagia only on 50% of my swallows according to thr momentry test. i did a barium swallow test and said small hiatus hernia but how do i know exactly what size it is cause dont they hide and come out after you eat
can these make you feel pressure in the chest and jaws like a heart attack

nope. chiropractors cannot fix hiatal hernias. go see a GI doctor - you also may need to see a surgeon
Can x ray show hiatal hernia instead of endoscopy and the liquid drinking scan ?
Not unless it is a very large hernia.

Good question. No, they're completely different. A Schatzki ring is a narrowing of the esophagus (tube that connects your mouth to your stomach) to the point that you start having trouble swallowing food (dysphasia). Although they are associated with hiatal hernia, (i.e., people with hiatal hernia's have a tendency to also have these Schatzki rings) they are completely different animals.

I was told they saw a thickening in my esophagus and it may be cancer. Inane to tell me that! But i did a swallowing test. And the radiology doc told me its an HH but i also have a mid hernia on my abdomen from being pregnant. But the HH is badly causing pain and swallowing idles

maybe the gastro doc is talking about your "mid hernia on your abdomen". HH don't cause cosmetic issues.
