Those classic Mopars and their pistol grip shifters are gorgeous.
its strange how back when anyone could buy any car they wanted most of the guys, and girls, I knew wanted Chevys. MOPARS were junk, Chevy rocked, so a bazzilion Chevys got sold...Camaros, Chevelles, N ovas, 'vettes... and not so many MOPARS. At 14 I was a Ford lover as the parents drove a '66 Galaxie with a 390 and had ordered a new 1969 Torino fastback with a CJ 429 that took forever to arrive at the dealer. And when the dealer called and told them the car had finally arrived we all were quite disappointed to see another Galaxie fastback version with a 429 CJ engine had arrived in its place. So they left that dealer without said Galaxie, walked across the street to the Chrysler/Plymouth dealer and bought the Bronze Fire Metallic '69 Road Runner off the showroom floor. I never knew they existed. What a car...with its Air Grabber hood, black out hood stripes, and BEEP...BEEP horn! I was now a lifetime MOPAR lover. I fought tooth and nail for my beloved MOPARS after that even being way outnumbered by the Chevy crowd. "MOPARS are junk" they all replied to me but I knew there was something very special about them. Once I reached driving age in 1973 I bought a used AAR 'cuda with 48,000 miles for $2200 which still sits in my garage to this day. Don't drive it as much as I did in those days though. And now all those old MOPARS seem to be the most sought after collector cars on planet earth. Hmmm isn't that strange...going form "junk" to "gotta have one" or "my dream car"...

dad's car was a '70 R/T SE 440-6 727TF Sure-Grip 3.54......the fun I had at 15 yrs old with that car......OMFG....steering with the throttle was so much fun.....NO power brakin'....just nail it at a light and feather the gas and the steering wheel......waaaay too much fun....back when you could still get "Real" gas......94-100 octane.....to hell with the catholic school girls.....I WAS PIZZA-FACED ZIT FACE 15 YR. OLD W/A HIGH HORSEPOWER CAR......loved it....:)

@@samspace81 Thanks for the reply and info. Super cool. My dad sent me your video actually. In fact that was his 2nd Charger. His first one was a yellow 1969 Dodge R/T with a 440 Cubic inch engine 375 HP, 4 speed shift on the floor. It got stolen at the beach.

Mark, riding the clutch is when someone is appling pressure to the clutch. It may look like he is riding the clutch, but I don't think he is. He maybe resting his foot. I have had several manual transmissions and spent many years driving delivery trucks and many times I would just rest my foot on the pedal without riding it.

Ethenol gives you more horse power and burns faster and it is hard on engines and gives you less gas mileage. In the end, you are better off paying for nonethenol gas. That is a beautiful car! Never sell it!
Ethanol has 15% less energy so less power. BUT...about 105 oct. So building a engine for it will allow you too run higher comp or boost. In that case, you would get more power. But an engine built to run on gas will make less power and get less mpg on ethanol.
