  • In this video I introduce you to the Feet up trainer, a super useful yoga toy to get comfortable being upside down...
    Feet up is useful for beginners learning their inversions, but also for those who have already mastered balance in headstand, to play with different leg variations and also to stay up for longer time without compressing the cervical vertebrae.
    I use it for my arm balances too, to make them more fun (mostly to add a challenge) - You can see some of my shot arm balancing on the Feet up on Instagram @park_yoga_girl

    I'm embarrassed to say that I couldn't even get upside down with my legs bent, but after I watched this video, I was able to. Thank you! Now to get stronger.

    • @YogawithGandha

      It’s perfect for beginners too! The idea is that it gives you confidence to go upside down especially if you’re just starting off with inversions

      Hello Monika,
      try bending one foot and bring your knee to the chest first, then slowly push into your arms and bring the other one as well. This should bring you into an easier inversion. Using your hands to push yourself up and find balance is really important.

    • @YogawithGandha
      @YogawithGandha  7 лет назад +3

      Hi Monika, I agree with what has been said below. remember to use your arms too, push down through the hands. Other than that, it may be that you have to work on strengthening the core too, but hard to guess without seeing you doing it. Are you based in London by any chance? If so, I'd be happy to help! x

    what happens if you fall backwards 😬

    • @YogawithGandha
      @YogawithGandha  4 года назад +5

      Good question. First I’d like to say that it’s very unlikely to happen. The support the this stool gives you makes it hard for someone to fall backwards. But should someone be worried, I’d recommend to start with the stool close to the wall so there is no way someone they could fall backwards.

      @@YogawithGandha For students worried about that, have them put the feet up trainer next to a wall. They can even put a foot back while upright to feel that wall to know it is still there.
