I really hope this doesn't get passed up by The Academy because of it's May release date. Taron was so outstanding in this role, and it deserves so much praise and recognition.
yeah im so worried that it will bc all the edgy artsy award winning films tend to come out this autumn or early next year but come on guyssss taron's performance should 110% be an exception
yeah, sometimes the early ones in the year get shafted but I hope Elton's aura will make it stay in memory

The Academy does not like to reward young men, so Taron Egerton's chances are probably dead. he COULD get a nomination if the film is still talked about at the end of November/December, but he has 0% chance to win (if the Academy even takes him seriously at all)...it's a shame because I think Rocketman is better than Bohemian Rhapsody and can you believe this guy did all the actual singing???....

Taron is 29 right now and will be 30 at the next Academy Awards. Richard Dreyfuss was 30 when he won for The Goodbye Girl, Daniel Day-Lewis was 32 at the time he won his first Oscar for My Left Foot, Nicolas Cage was 32 when he won for Leaving Las Vegas, Adrien Brody was 29 when he won for The Pianist and Eddie Redmayne was 33 when he won for The Theory of Everything. Rami Malek was 37 when he won earlier this year.
This film is truly amazing, I hope it gets all the credit it deserves!

Taron doesn't need a gold statue for validation.we all know he did a great job playing Elton.
I wouldn't "chat" with Elton's mom, I would slap her first and then maybe start a conversation with her. She reminds me of my mother and I can't begin to describe what a bad thing that is. And I'm proud of Elton for surviving her because I know exactly what it feels like.

I would be highly disappointed if this was by passed by the Academy because of it's early release date, iconic films will never be forgotten and this was a master piece, Taron deserves to be nominated at least wether or not he wins is dependent on the other performances
