this is what the braindead reporter said, he opened and closed his reporting with propaganda. Take it apart. America isnt the US, it's all of the Americas, so it's a rhetorical trick of words to make you think he meant the US (and he did but he can deny it). He ended with US military bases but that suggests nothing and plays upon common ignorance. China's military bases DO NOT defend other countries from other countries but most if not all US bases do. China's military operations ONLY serve to defend China's goal to dominate. Perhaps you think I'm making this up, Look for yourself, the CCP has openly declared their intentions many times. You must stop consuming information passively! The machines of propaganda built by the CCP, Russia and Iran are out for blood and their governments are nothing short of brutal.

Peruvian here. The Chinese have been smart. They knocked on our doors and said:
    - "hey, I noticed you don't have roads, public hospitals and schools. How about we build you some, eh?"
    - We went: "In exchange for what?"
    - "Nothing yet. You'll owe us one. How about that?"
And so the Chinese built trust. How do Americans conduct business? By means of blunt or discrete threats. The Chinese were smarter and now you're seeing the consequences of that. The world is starting to realise we don't need the US, if we have each other's back.

Very hypocritical of the US to be "worried" about this port.

Unless the U.S. does more than talk and complain about China the influence of China in the western hemisphere will increase. Some countries have joined BRIC and there is a long list of applicants. There are potential candidates is Latin and South America. That southern senator talked about obtaining Ukraine mineral wealth. Latin and South America have more mineral wealth than Ukraine and possibly all of Europe except the Soviet Union.
