If not for gaming above 50k then Intel Evo laptops and Mac books are really good for professionals. Due to consistent performance without being plugged in and long battery life . I brought my acer swift 3 Intel Evo and it was extremely wonderful

Video editing may require graphics card depending on work loads
I personally have an Asus laptop (ryzen 3 3250u, 8gb ram 256gb ssd), I use it for some office works and excel, word etc, it works just perfect for me, and the price tag is under 35k. Only what it's missing is an ethernet port, though I use a type C to ethernet adapter.
@INDIA is GREAT Asus M515DA-BQ322TS Battery backup is around 3-4 hours. But when you do things on internet like online classes etc, you must plug in your laptop and then use it because it is good for your laptop battery and performance. If possible, never use Internet while it's not connected to charger.

Dedicated graphics card suck more power than igpu and much much much better performance than igpu thats why gaming laptops which have dedicated graphics cards those gives only 1-3 hours of lyf
Most laptops have a hybrid system where it switches between dedicated and inbuilt graphics, when ur doing light work where graphics power is not required, laptop uses integrated graphics but during heavy graphics usage like gaming, it switches to dedicated.

More ssd , better boot time and will serve for more years Ram should be ddr4...

I've decided to buy Lenovo Flex 5(as it is convertible, and the pen is included), but couldn't decide which variant to go for (8/16 GB ram or Ryzen 5 4500u/5500u Processor) which one should be better ? And in which one the battery will last longer as compared to the enhanced performance offered by the later(company claims it don't much of a difference) it it true?

Prefer a laptop without a dedicated graphics card... You don't need that...
I don't know your price bracket so I can't really suggest which processor to go for... You are a programmer so go for an intel laptop...
And choose the processor wisely, it matters the most and ssd too...
Like i5 12th gen> i7 10th gen
There are websites which compare the processors for single core and multi core...
i5 or i7 doesn't matter as much as the generation...
More ssd , better boot time and will serve for more years
Ram should be ddr4...
