That was by far the best instructional video I’ve ever used. Next time talk about the socket sizes you’re using. I faintly heard her mention them. Great vid. Top shelf
Just replaced the same driver side mirror on my 2012 f150. You called the sizes for the bolts I needed to remove and showed where they were. Did it in a half hour. Awesome video! Thanks a bunch!
Thank you had to replace my driver side mirror on my 2013 Ford F-150. After watching your video it wound up working out just the way you showed it. Thank you.
DIY - this video was concise and comprehensive. I replace passenger side mirror on F150/2014 within 20 mins max. Thanks to your video! Keep up good work!
Armando thank you so much for the support. We literally just did a website make over to make it more user friendly. Give us any feedback to help us improve
Thanks a lot. Took me about an hour, but I had a lot of trouble getting the door panel back on. one of the 11mm nuts was also stripped so I had to use an adjustable wrench.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching and telling us about the issue you had. We'll definitely keep this in mind to see how we can show getting the door panel back on easier next time. Have a Happy New Year!
Hds up - the threaded insert that holds the screw behind the interior door handle can slip off and fall into door panel … if it does pull window up and reach in bottom of door panel carefully and feel around bottom of door find insert pull it out.
Thank you SO MUCH for the help! You guys (& gal:) made the video so easy to follow! I love being able to work on my own truck when i can & the mirror was a first for me - thanks again!!
I’m pretty sure I would have broke something trying to get it apart but after watching this I had the exact tool sizes needed and within 20 minutes I was done 👍🏼
Thank you. I called my local dealership and they quoted me close to $700 for this job. It took me 45 minutes, and paid a little less than $100 bucks for a pair of after-market mirrors. They don’t call em stealerships for no reason.
Is this the same if you have power folding mirrors ? My mirrors look exactly the same as the one replaced except passenger side doesnt have the smaller squared off section on the mirror
Hello Isaac and thank you for watching! We did not disconnect the battery but that is the safest thing to do. All the mechanics and electrical components are run through one plug, so we felt that nothing would happen. Cheers!
Hello and that sounds cool! We're not able to see the lights but we're sure they'll fit. Make sure to test it all out before you completely install it. Take care!
I have a question. I have a 2012 Ford F-150 XLT. My question is, can I replace my side mirror with ones with the turn signal in them, if my current ones don’t have the turn signal lights. Mine are powered, I’m just wondering if that’s possible or not. Thanks
Hello! Yes and no. We recommend that you stick with the correct mirror with correct features. There are electric pins set aside fore each feature and if you install a mirror with or without the correct feature may effect the function of your mirror. Good luck!
It was the higher end mirror with memory and turn signal. The best thing to do is call the dealership and ask them using your VIN. They will tell you they can't sometimes but its a lie, they can give you the part number for the mirror and with that you can google the mirror with the correct features. You can also call us if you need help to find a mirror, we sell them! Thank you for watching.
Hello. It's been so long I honestly do not remember. I want to say they were 8mm but American cars have funny sizes, could of been 7-9mm bolt. It should be a couple bucks at the dealer. Good luck.
Hello, I swapped my mirror due to mine being hit off. It’s in on and fine, I just now seem to have some kind of air leakage while I driver at a higher rate of speed. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance
Hello. Our side view mirrors and all mirrors will come with a rubber or foam insulation. Your old OEM mirror would also have it on the base of the mirror. You can buy it at the dealership if you don't have one. It can cover the entire base or just cover the edges. Good luck!
Hello Kevin. That is correct. We sell the full assembly aftermarket and rarely any caps. The caps are usually OEM but to replace that you would need a thin panel clip remover to pop off the cap. It may or may not have screws on the back. We just haven't replaced the cap on this before. Thanks for watching and good luck!
When I did mine, instead of hanging the door panel by the wires, just keep the bottom clips in so the door rests on those, and there is still enough room up top to take the mirror out
Hello and sorry about that. Ford parts can be hard to find, especially if they are new. We do our best to update for newer parts. Please follow the link below and our sales staff can get you a quote. www.revemoto.com/pages/painted-parts-request
Hi Robbie so if I remember correctly it’s a 8mm for the door panel to be removed and then the actually bolts on the side view mirror is 11mm. Let me know if you have any issues.
Since you're a BMW owner there is a lever on the left hand side of the steering wheel that if you move it the vehicle will indicate to other drivers if you are intending to change lanes
I have a 2012, only power mirror (that i know of) no led lights, just power movement. would anyone know if i’d buy aftermarket mirrors if the leds would work?
The Led may not work as the wire harness is different if you don’t already have led on your mirrors. You may have to get an electrician to figure out how to change it out. If you need parts for your car go to www.ReveMoto.com
You're not crazy, the broken mirror is referred to as "glass" in the parts world. But you can just pop the glass off with panel clip removal tools. The glass is only held on by plastic clips but be careful not to pull the glass too much, there may be wires from the motor to the glass for heat features. Good luck!
The customer did not want the correct mirror because the price was much higher. He opted for the less expensive mirror without a feature he needed. I don't recall the feature, it was a while ago.
Aftermarket mirrors come as a full assembly. Most side view mirrors have replaceable glass (mirror) but they're only available from the dealer. There are some rare models that are sold together but you could probably get JUST the glass from Ford. Thanks for watching!
Why do I still see guys fooling around with a ratchet on this type of thing. I have a screw gun/cordless drill with sockets and extensions and zap that stuff a part in seconds, then shoot it back together the same way.... must just be me I reckon.
You're absolutely correct. We just use the most basic tools because that's what our guy prefers. We have used a drill for other videos and it's much easier and faster. Thanks for watching!
Hi there, sorry not sure what you're asking here. We do sell the F150 mirrors on our site at www.revemoto.com, and we paint them in-house. Happy to answer any other questions you might have.
your video didn't actually tell us what size bolts were at the bottom, middle and top. Not very instructional compared to other videos showing the same thing.
Encore bravo!

Great tip because I think this happened to us twice!
I'm relieved to know these vehicles use real bolts and not those plastic nasties found in lesser vehicles.
Oh man so you have seen those ridiculous plastic ones!! I feel you on that. If you need parts for your car go to www.ReveMoto.com

Looking to do this for my 2011 f150. I ordered new sequential turn signals and wanted to install them. Is this OEM size? Do you think they will fit?
Hello and that sounds cool! We're not able to see the lights but we're sure they'll fit. Make sure to test it all out before you completely install it. Take care!
Is this the same installation as the dual arm mirrors for the same model?
I am not 100% sure but it should be very similar.
I have a question. I have a 2012 Ford F-150 XLT. My question is, can I replace my side mirror with ones with the turn signal in them, if my current ones don’t have the turn signal lights. Mine are powered, I’m just wondering if that’s possible or not. Thanks

Let me know what you did/do. I have a 2011 xlt without the bulbs but power adjusting and was wondering if I could swap it out one just like the video.
Was that a 22 pin or an 8 pin. I’m trying to figure what mine is. I have a 2013 f150 Lariat.

Hello and yeah, you should be good. Just make sure the feature work before you secure the door panel. Thank for watching!
Am I crazy, I thought you would have showed how to remove & replace the broken "mirror"?
You're not crazy, the broken mirror is referred to as "glass" in the parts world. But you can just pop the glass off with panel clip removal tools. The glass is only held on by plastic clips but be careful not to pull the glass too much, there may be wires from the motor to the glass for heat features. Good luck!
Wrong mirror went back on but whatever as long as the owner is happy
The customer did not want the correct mirror because the price was much higher. He opted for the less expensive mirror without a feature he needed. I don't recall the feature, it was a while ago.
How to replace just the mirror? Not the plastic.
You can pull the glass off gently. It's only held on by plastic clips. Don't pull to hard because there may be electrical connection to the glass.
@@ReveMoto I did it. Thanks!
@@IAW888 Nice 😀
So the actual mirror can’t just pop off and be replaced? You must replace the entire mirror assembly? Man, that sucks!!
