I had a border collie growing up and she acted EXACTLY this way whenever we came home. Didn't matter if it was from work, school, wherever. What a wonderful and smart breed! I'd have another in a minute!
I rescued my 8yr old BC from my folks(some people should never own dogs).. He is eternally grateful that he gets to live his life in a loving home. There is something about rescue dogs that is endearing, there is no hint of entitlement.
we have just lost our much love border collie jess and we are heart broken we had 18 yrs joy together she was so loving and was truly our best friend we could never replace her
I just lost one of my beloved border collies a few months ago. I miss her a great deal. However, this video just brings a huge smile to my face. I would love to have an excitable, social furball like that to play with everyday.
I’m sorry for your loss. You were blessed to have had 18 yrs with your pup❤️🐾. No one could EVER replace her but you might want to consider sharing your love with another pup in the future. I can’t imagine life without a dog
I first adopted an Aussie/BC from a small pet store and brought her home in '79. My father told me to return her as he didn't want anymore dogs after my brother's German Shepherd died in '79. My mother disagreed, saying I needed my own dog, especially after my best friend had died after a seizure in bed and I was depressed. I was crying in my room and holding onto a little Collie mix that kept kissing and snuggling me all over and wouldn't stop as we watched a "ST" rerun that night. I hears a whistle and she ran downstairs. I was afraid he'd grab her and take her back to the shelter-not where I bought her for $25. After about 15 min., he brought her back to my room and said I could keep her as she'd made him and my mother very happy. I did and she also made my little 2 year old niece happy when she was angry or sad-before we even knew she was upset about something. She did the same thing to us so I named this little 6 week old pup Gem and added (the Empath) to her as she, like many dogs we'd owned, was empathic. She lived to be almost 14 years and died in '92, the same year my ful-bred Border Collie Tess was born on a farm in N. Ga. She only had 3 litters and lived to be 16.2 yrs., but my next favourite was a male my other niece and parents named JackBNimble. He lived to be 17 and a big boy-not fat, just a thick double coat as he was mostly an outdoor boy-and we adopted a girlfriend-Little Bo Peep-and her red/white BC cousin I named Gypsy Rose Lee (she lived up to her name and hated to wear "dog clothes"). LBP and GRL lived to be 13.11 and 14.8 yrs. respectively til '18. I miss them all and wish I could adopt an older, retired BC who just needs some extra loving in her or his final years, but I'm pushed into moving into an elderly retirement apt. soon and they no doubt have a wt.limit on dogs. Maybe, a female Cardigan Corgi might do as Pembrokes are a bit hyper for apts. I've been told. Anyone experienced a difference here?
Predivan pas. Hvala vam na ovom snimku. Gospodine imate zaista divnog psa. Zelim vam da on dugo pozivi i da zajedno sa njim i vi prozivite nezaboravne trenutke. Posdrav Greetings from Serbia
what a beautiful dog! she's so very sweet and happy. i had a border collie when i was younger, she's probably the main reason i survived high school. please give beautiful Laika lots of cuddles for me.
My youngest BC was rehomed to us from a farm as a non-worker at 1yr old and had spent his entire life confined to a cramped kennel outside which caused him to develop compulsive circling from sheer boredom and prolonged confinement. He had never stepped foot inside a house, been in a car, left the farm or seen anyone other than the farmer and his wife but quickly settled in at home and came out of his shell and grew more confident by the day. He never takes life as a spoiled indoor family dog for granted and I swear he goes nuts like this if we're only out of the house for a few hours. When any of us get home we're now in the habit of taking off shoes and coat and putting down bags or whatever in the hallway before opening the living room door because the second you open it he's on you jumping 4ft in the air and wiggling furiously like a salmon swimming upstream. Our oldest wags her tail and goes in for a tummy rub but she's been with us since 8-weeks so has never known life without all this fuss and attention but the youngest seems grateful for every second he's here and laps up every snuggle and cuddle like its his first one. There is no other dog in the world like the Border Collie.
OHHH MY GOODNESS. I've had border collies since I was a young child and there's honestly nothing like them. They are so smart and loving. When they are treated like they should be, they are the best companions in the world. I love my current border collie like no other. She is one of a kind with her witty and sweet personality! So glad other people understand and can share in the experience of owning such a loving creature.
I am from Recife, in Brazil, south america, and i own two border Collies with pedigrees, both of em, however, i am always so busy... i am an ophthalmologist, and i am always on the go with patients and stuff; but when i am free? on my down times? boy, do i enjoy being with them!!!
Border Collies will insist on constant interaction with you. It makes you love them so much. They love to play with you, and they love training, which is intellectually stimulating for them. Great dogs!
I had a border collie that the vet said was fat, so I put him on a diet. I thought it was just coat. Eventually, another vet told me that the first vet was wrong and it was all coat. The poor dog nearly starved for 6 months because of the wrong diagnosis. He had a very thick coat. Not all border collies have the same coat - some hardly any; some very thick.
Love watching these videos and Seanthesheepman ones too. Sean's up in Scotland and has 3 BCs-Kate, Echo, and Storm-herd sheep and to watch those BCs practically fly as they turn clockwise (come), anti-clockwise (away) to get those sheep to mind their orders by Sean's whistles or verbal commands. I used to give my Tess these order some mindless geese at a park back into a small lake so they wouldn't frighten the children playing nearby. She obeyed me, but the mgr wasn't too happy since she didn't have on her leash. "She can't herd with a leash on," a little boy told him. I think he said, "With a leash on, she's obeying my order, young man." He had a Scottish accent and sounded like Scotty and it turned out that he had experience with Border Collies as I met him with some BCs herding goats eating Kudzu off some trees near my house one day as we walked by to go to the shopping centre.
Beautiful ❤️🐾. This could be my pup! She looks exactly like Penny my Border Collie. You would not believe it if you saw my dog! She is just as loving and so happy when greeting family!! Best dogs EVER!❤️
I too am the proud owner of a Border Collie and they are the best dog in the world. But this video is just wonderful. You have a beautiful dog. I wish that every dog in the world could always be this happy. ❤
Another example of how dogs are truly mans best friend; they enrich our lives so much. Your parents seem like great people too who love Laika as much as you do (and the feeling is mutual). This is Australia?
I had the same issue with my border collie. Many thought she was overweight, and then when she got wet you could see that it was all due to a thick coat. Even the vet said her weight was perfect.
My collie looks big but after swimming looks very slim. He's very rough coated. At any rate the dog in this video is very happy and obviously healthy. With all the problems in the world let's count our blessings!
Well, our dog was totally an inside dog and she had only a living room. She probably ran in the order of 10,000 laps around the furniture in her lifetime playing various games. We kept her busy and thinking with all the game variations we created. So, I'd say that as long as you keep them mentally engaged, they'll be fine. Oh yeah, and feed them properly too....we screwed up for quite a while with an improper diet.
Border Collies are something else, guess that's why we have no less than six at a time all through the years since our first in 1999, adorable, fun, smart and loyal.
My border collie does this! Except he does this when he hasn't seen you for over two hours not two months. I think he might explode out of happiness if he saw someone agian after two months haha
Not at all. My border collie is home all day with me because I am working from home. My daughter goes to high school. Even when my border collie doesn’t see me for about 30 minutes, she got so excited when she saw me. My border collie gets excited seeing everyone and every dogs. Some dogs are just happen to be too excited. It’s not because they are left alone for a long time. They are just friendly dogs.
Border collies have all different kinds of temperaments. Some indeed are working dogs, others can be classified as active or companion. So unless you are an animal psychologist Elma, you are out of your league making judgements. And sniktun1 and PeterHBne1 the rules about rib cages and waist lines don't apply for fluffy border collies. They often appear chunky when they are not.
I had a border collie growing up and she acted EXACTLY this way whenever we came home. Didn't matter if it was from work, school, wherever. What a wonderful and smart breed! I'd have another in a minute!
My shelties act like this ... crazy girls
I rescued my 8yr old BC from my folks(some people should never own dogs).. He is eternally grateful that he gets to live his life in a loving home. There is something about rescue dogs that is endearing, there is no hint of entitlement.
Beautiful story.
I hope he gives you happiness every day 😊
Bless you !
Dog is happy and people are happy which makes dog even happier!
I know these border collies. They're truly man's best friend and the most intelligent!
Laika is very happy and so funny. She is so sweet girl and likes tummy rub.

What a pleasure to see a whole family of people who love their animal
I was thinking the same thing!
Favourite dog breed as I grew up with the Border Collie. One way to get its exercise in for the day as the dog eventually slowed down.

2nd favourite breed. Energetic, playful, happy and intelligent. And super cute.
Whenever I'm feeling down or missing my dogs, I watch this video, and it makes me feel so much better!

My dog was a Borador, ie a Border Collie/ Labrador Cross. He was a lot like this dog, getting excitable with people who he liked.
Gorgeous dog. Love the thick coat. And great to see how much your parents love her...

Haha big fat happy fluffball
The pup is like "grandma!!!!!" "Grandpa!!!!!!"
I had a Border Collie hybrid, she LOVED people, and would always jump when she saw me.
She also stole chicken and hamburgers when you weren't looking.
I get this when I get home from a week away, usually followed by a full body launch into my tummy!
My Border loves to greet anybody that says "Hello" and off she goes rolling on her back and getting belly rubs. Most people cannot resit her.
I too am the proud owner of a Border Collie and they are the best dog in the world. But this video is just wonderful. You have a beautiful dog. I wish that every dog in the world could always be this happy. ❤
This might be the best RUclips video ever.
Such a happy girl she is :) I love my Borders she is very beautiful

This is Australia?
I was so surprised to realize how much your beautiful dog resembles my Luath. It was an absolute joy to watch this video.
Just like my beautiful lad who died 10 years ago tomorrow- still loved so much......................
i'll never the one i grew up with, she was amazing
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m dreading the day we have to say goodbye to our BC. She is truly the best dog we have ever had!🌸💗☮️
I had the same issue with my border collie. Many thought she was overweight, and then when she got wet you could see that it was all due to a thick coat. Even the vet said her weight was perfect.
She is lovely :-)

i have a border collie so cute your one is beautiful
No - it is overweight. I know about thick hair on them but unless you can see your dogs rib cage, it's overweight.
Our collie does this to every visitor. :D

I want a Border Collie MORE THAN ANYTHING!
So cute!!
Bas je prava maza 😊
No, she's large. Duncan, our border collie began to look like that so we cut his diet in half and walked him more and he lost pounds very quickly.
I love to pet a border collie
I absolutely love them!
IKR I LOVE DOGS AND PUPPIES ESPACULLY BORDER COLLIES
This dog is not overweight if it was overweight it would not be able to move that fast.
I miss my BC... she used to do the same thing after not seeing you for a while.

Has those humans well trained.
Happy happy happy !!!
we have a Border collie 2 1/2 years old who looks exactly like that. his name is Samson we call him Sammy
It’s wonderful to see how he is happy, but in my experience it’s a sign of leaving a border collie alone too long.
Not at all. My border collie is home all day with me because I am working from home. My daughter goes to high school. oh my god this is funniest thing ever
And its just fur and muscle and not fat!
Good to hear. Looks are deceiving. And, I should have said that she "looks" fat. In any event, awesome dog! I miss mine soooooo much!
I remember when my BC would get this excited. She's 11 now and... well I guess she just doesn't get as amped up anymore. Or she's had enough of us ha
gorgeous
OMG SO FLUFFY!!
Da li je ona cela border koli ili je mozda mesanac? Dobar pas usput!!!!
