Upgrading the cars to be more in line with modern day car culture will be huge mistake
In addition to the cars are handling the same I do share your opinion but not entirely, something that I always loved is the battle between Kurt and Wylde in the junk realm. You can see Wylde almost having trouble taking those corners while Kurt is just casually drifting every single one
Honestly, if I was in that boardroom meeting the option I would think of putting forth is just get some of the writing staff that did work on the show originally or somehow find the old story plans or anything like that and just wrap up the story as a comic book line. To me it does nearly everything Mattel might want to do and it probably satiates the fanbase enough. An extra bonus I guess they could do is for the series 20th Anniversary next year is a 6 or so premium car line of some Acceleracers cars. With a heavy focus on cars that do not look like their movie counterparts e.g Synkro and Rivited. Hell, for shits and giggles they could do a rerun on Reverb with its new name as "Vert's" as you could make the argument now in that its a different car.
The accelerons can give them modifications from the "future"
I have no hopes of this show coming back and im more than satisfied by now with this cliffhanger, what i really want is a acceleracers game and that mattel release once again the acceleracers models...
These are the reasons that I knew that Acceleracers wouldn’t be brought back for the past couple of years. As far as Hot Wheels rule of not repeating paint schemes, they already broke that rule with let’s race. As far as a continuation of Acceleracers goes though, I think that a show set in either a modern or futuristic Hot Wheels timeline has the main characters in at least an arc to learn and try and figure out what happened with the Acceleracers. It would especially make sense if something like that happened considering my timeline that made.
Man this is honestly depressing to hear. I’m still going to hold on to hope though. If we never get a continuation then I hope they release the models they didn’t release in the first run to the whole public not locked behind a NFT paywall. Re release all the movies on blue ray including world race and put them on streaming services as well. I’m not giving up hope no matter what.
