One of your best episodes man. High quality Gorement -> Paradise Lost -> Fields of the Nephilim analysis. And overall count of references to like 30+ bands in the episode is crazy. Brilliant work.
It's always good to see death metal bands honoring their forefathers and paying tribute with Romantic imagery. Despite that, there are only so many fine art paintings, and I am conflicted. Delville was also of the Symbolism movement, which could trace it's roots to Romanticism. Much in the same way extreme metal begat it's various sons. However, that Gorefest font logo is something else entirely, and I'd be mortified. At any rate, I finally played the The Ending Quest and I plan to listen to it again in the future. My primary takeaway was that post-Paradise Lost Gorement is similar to Cemetary's Evil Shade of Grey as far as the atmosphere and melodicism is concerned, but discussing music is not my forte. What do you think, Jiub?
Enjoy the ment! Speaking of Album cover rip-offs, can we call about Tom Worrier using the same cover as the first Order from Chaos album for the first Triptykon album?
That one's kinda tricky because I think Tommy Boy actually got official usage rights for that artwork back when Giger was still alive, whereas when Order from Chaos used it, it was some fly-by-night Wild Rags stuff. That's why the Nuclear War Now and Osmose reissues of Stillbirth Machine have different cover art.
Yeah, that's one of my favorite parts on the album. There's another part very similar to it in the instrumental "Silent Hymn for the Dead" that's even better that I wanted to include too, but I had to axe it to keep the episode under 20 minutes.
This band is pretty awesome with what they have to offer and what not. For me, the best Swedish worship band is the Spanish band “Graveyard”. Also Bloodbath is decent but nothing special. I got into Swedish death metal with Unleashed’s Where Life Dwells.
Was hoping for this episode!

That's a good comparison, also a really solid album in its own right
Enjoy the ment!

@@radiofreeinnsmouth1337 yeah, that's a good point.
Exhume to Consume live off of Within the Shadows has a windows alert sound playing because Danny boy couldn't be fucked.
10:04 ive never heard paradise lost before this video and this sounds just like Paramaecium, both the riff and the female vocals. Strange
Just another banger episode
