I bought one of these recently and it's become my go-to EDC knife. The ridged file is brilliant and the 84mm length is fantastically compact. It rarely leaves my pocket!

I have an older, beat-up Sportsman, and it's an amazing knife, going with me into any task around the home or yard. I actually think that if the Sportsman had a Philips head instead of the corkscrew (and maybe a small pen blade instead of the can opener, as these are pretty useless nowadays) it'd be a 100% perfect SAK. Also, I have to say I prefer the old style diamond style file!
I find both file types useful, but the lack of a file at the edge can annoy me at times, though for nails the other style might be preferred. Thanks Dorek.

I’ve recently picked up a Sportsman & the Alox Cadet, really enjoying the 84mm size, just seems to fit me a little better than the larger SAKs.
Plus I didn’t realise how much I’d use the file until I had one 🤣
