  • The church of St George in Methwold holds a ring of eight bells. Prior to 1999 there was a ring of six bells. The middle four of these six bells were cast by John Draper in 1630. These four bells were top and tail augmented to six by the addition of a treble and tenor bell in 1775, both cast by Osborn & Arnold of St Neots. This ring of six bells were augmented once more, in 1998, by John Taylor Bellfounders Ltd casting two new trebles. All eight bells were then rehung in a new frame. Recorded during our summer tour to Norfolk in 2023.

Hi Ollie! Hope all is well. I was wondering if you have any footage at Shipdham in Norfolk? If you do, I would love to see it!!

Hi! I do - I recorded it on the day we came to visit and also rang on the mini ring at the village day (I also have a video of them too and I think you might be in it!). I will upload Shipdham on Sunday for you. 😃
