  • Add a tap to your soda bottle cap, to stop you losing all your fizz every time you unscrew the cap. There is no simpler tap than a bicycle valve.

    Damn it this is genius!
I live in the UK now. There’s a South African shop just up my road where I buy a naughty treat - a grape flavoured Fanta bottle. It’s always fairly gassed out. Even more so after opening it. I’ll definitely try this. Thank you 🙏

It’s a tire valve, so you could re-pressure it with CO2 from a CO2 bike pump with food grade CO2 cartridges.

Is that tire nozzle food safe? It can't be terribly hygienic, or comfortable,
to pour the drinking water all over your fingers. Maybe keep the the pump on the nozzle, but add a second tube to the cap, with a nozzle that has a release valve on the other end, for serving it? That way the pump can easily keep the pressure inside the bottle, it's easy and clean to serve drinks, and you can quickly and easily transfer the lid to other bottles, as needed.

Just wash the nozzle vigorously before use and should be fine

The concept is sound. Collaborate with a mechanical engineer and see if y'all can come up with something functional and ergonomically handy😂

So people worried about not being food safe. Looked it up and they sell nickel plated valve stems. Nickel is is food grade from what I looked up but the rubber is probably the weak point in this situation

People thinking that man ate it...really? That will never Work...Why cuz whenever i buy jumbo coke, pour it at once in my glass & then tightly put the cap back and store it in Fridge less than 12 hours it loses Fizz cause the Seal that ring under that cap is not leak proof..its sealed by factory But once we broke that seal its no more leak proof and carbonation is loss

There should be a more smart way. I recommend focusing on the method that does not need to open the cap at all.

You need to invent something that is safer for use. I'm not using that metal object for my soda to pour thru

Taps are metal objects. Do you refuse to drink water that comes from them too?
