  • We were kindly invited to investigate the Blyth Hotel, as the new owners had been experiencing some odd happenings. We certainly didn't expect to experience what we did in there.
Thanks to Robyn and Mark from the Blyth Hotel for hosting us for the night. It was such a great night.
Please note that these videos were originally designed as live streams on our Facebook page to highlight haunted tourism sites that you can visit yourself. For this reason, the video is not intended to be broadcast/documentary quality.
We are not presenting this as proof that ghosts exist; we are just sharing some interesting moments during our investigation. What you make of it is what you make of it.

Hi girls yet another amazing location I will definitely keep this wonderful old pub in mind for a schnitzel if We are in the aria. When the question were you the man near the fireplace was asked and the tape played back I heard man before anyone mentioned it. To me there were too many relevant words towards the family and the previous owners to be coincidence. I would love to know if anything happened over night. Excellent job as usual fun and a lot of laughs it would be so much fun on one of your adventures.👍🏻👍🏻👻👻👻

We were happy to see the Blyth hotel looking good with its new renovation.
We know the town and area well for we have conducted business in the Mid North for generations.
When we accidently came across your video on ghosts at Blyth we were shocked that someone could do such a thing to a heritage town.
All of you should be ashamed, there was no respect or thought for others.
Blyth was/is a Christian Lutheran town. Industry and farming.
The town doesn't need this kind of reputation. You do yourselves no favors in the long run.
The town needs to attract a positive family orientated environment for it to once again thrive.
If you want to make money do it with respect taste and maturity. Not dragging a good town down.
Leave the ghosts of the past in peace.
Our dogs won't welcome you to our property.

      Hi Elle,
I am unsure what you are alluding to. Hopefully I can explain a little better though as to our intentions when we went there and put any concerns to rest. We were invited out of curiosity by the owners. No money was made, in fact it costs us money to do these visits as we always believe in paying our way with local businesses and encourage others to visit and do the same. For instance the waffle place there was to die for when we had breakfast.
I am in tourism, COVID crippled tourism, so we decided to help highlight other businesses by doing these videos. They were hit hard by covid too and needed as much support as they could get. The videos are chiefly about the history, the beautiful locations that people can visit themselves, with a short investigation to help create more interest. By doing so, more people now know of Blyth, the Hotel and hopefully will bring more trade to the town. Surely that can only be a good thing?
As for being ashamed, I cannot feel that, as my intentions are good and I am just trying to help these places. It is up to the owners of these buildings to contact us and request, we do not chase and we do not charge. Ultimately they are the ones who decide what they want to do in their own building, as is their right. It was a one off, nothing more, so you need not worry.
Hopefully, that answers some of your concerns 😊

Thank you for your response to my post.
It is understood the new owner of Blyth hotel contacted you for some assistance regarding recent " activity". We appreciate that everyone has been hurt by the CV19 pandemic. Some more than others, in different ways. It is good to see the old pub tastefully renovated and the meals certainly have a good review.
The simple fact of ghost hunting is not the concern. We all like a ghost story. It is the way things are conducted and the fact that family of the "ghosts" are still alive. History and heritage are to be respected. Family see your video They have wealthy heritage to the area and become distressed by the comments and the fact you may be talking to their deceased relatives. We know it is not your intention to distress people.
The children of the hotel in Moonta are well documented and generations of their relatives still grieve today. Yes of course the owner has the right to do whatever they wish in their own property. The recent revamp of Blyth District Hospital. Was particularly upsetting. To see bars on rooms. It is past words. We know you are not responsible. Blyth had the highest standards of training and care. The town kept the hospital going without any gov funding. It is not a prison or an asylum. To have both the pub and the hospital. Take this flavour. Is distressing. Please take this into consideration when you are doing your next ghost hunt. A positive outcome is desired, for all concerned. Once again thank you for your response and the opportunity for discussion.

Not taken seriously enough too much laughing and fooling around which is actually dis-respectful and not encouraging to Spirits

    • @haunted-horizons
      @haunted-horizons  9 месяцев назад

Hi Gary, thank you for commenting and for watching. I am a little confused on the 'disrespectful' part as we are never rude and never provoke. We do however, see them as people, like you and me, who all have different personalities and like different approaches. The only fooling around Kag and me do is through our bantering and natural sense of fun. It is only aimed towards each other and never towards the spirits. In between those moments, there is a lot of serious investigating... a lot of it is edited out because nothing is happening.
Don't be fooled by our videos as I was in the serious research field for over 30 years (probably all my life). I find that we get more activity now, by being natural and being ourselves, than we did when seriously sitting there. We investigate several times a week with the public too, and the one pattern we have found... the people who are enthusiastic, loving it and having fun with each other... are the ones that appear to get more interaction.
At the end of the day if you had a visitor, would you want them to sit there solemn and serious or would you like them to be relaxed and chatty. I know if I come back as a spirit... if I had the choice between people being so serious, or the relaxed group on the other side of the room... I would always choose the latter as long as they were also being respectful. Fun and laughing creates energy in itself... it is why most people are attracted to fun people. I would hate to think it would be any different after we pass.
These videos are not serious investigation videos. They are travel, they are highlighting some great historical locations that others can visit, and if the spirits want to join in, that is a bonus.
Hopefully, this helps explain where we are coming from. We realise we are not for everybody, but I do sincerely thank you for giving us a try 😊
