Let's just admit it. Genshin is not a bad game, people just hating on it because the rewards are suck but that's not even the reason why we play it in the first place. I'm pretty sure we're playing it for the exploration, characters, story, music, and the unique theme of the game in the beginning.

people who complain about how stingy genshin's rewards are outta start playing otome husbando gacha games. that's where to true stingynes are at! i'm looking at you: love and deespace, tears of themisa, mr. love queen and so on. genshin rewards are moderate. not too generious and not too stingy. it's on purpose and that's to get impatient people to swipe. i can agree on one thing: anni's rewards should be a bit more generious. instead of the 20 pulls we get. i think 40 is moderate enough. and i'd love more exclusive gliders or namecards over underwhelming gadgets any day.

Lack of content, excuse of a “combat system”, disconnect and miscommunication from the devs. Not respecting or valuing players.
The music is good, the graphics are good, but 3 hours worth of story content every 2 months is not good. The childish 5 year old mini-games nobody plays except for the rewards. Recycled events over and over and over again. Exploration is tedious as sh*t. Combat is an utter joke.
Let’s just admit it, the game is bad. Just because you like it because it has *some* good aspects to it does not make it a good game. Let alone the fact that claiming that you don’t know why people criticize it is just so disingenuous. Criticizing something is part of the development process. Getting feedback is how you improve the product and make it better. But it is impossible to criticize and provide genuine feedback about a product when the people who made it don’t give a sh*t about your opinion and there is also “those” customers who are going to bark at everyone who criticizes their “perfect product.” Your own comment says everything you need to know.
You people don’t know what nuance is. Genshin is not a good game. Just because you like it does not change that fact.

And maybe I’m a bit biased, because I listened to it during my China-trip. Well anyway it’s stays entirely in “my favourite genshin songs” playlist.

For me, it's Sumeru, in all aspects. Even though the exploration was massive, it kept me busy, and I wasn't as bored on Genshin anymore. THE SCENERY IS MAGNIFICENT AND BREATHTAKING!!!! The music is peak. Port Ormos music is a banger, and I have to listen to the full track whenever I enter. Scaramouche, Aeonblight Drake and Dendro Chicken boss battle music is too. I could listen to it for hours ❤. The storyline is top tier - I love Fontaine it definitely comes at a close 2nd, but it didn't beat Sumeru for me as the satisfaction of watching my favourite characters work together to create a masterpiece plan to save Sumeru and WHOOP THE SAGES BUTTS is amazing. The 3 interlude quests included are very good as well.
    ‼️⚠️HOT TAKE INCOMING⚠️‼️
I loved the Aranara quest! As time-consuming as it was, it too had an amazing storyline, and the aranara ARE SO ADORABLEE they look like silly lil cabbages ❤ Also the fact that Nahida actually helped us with information on our sibling unlike the other 4 is sweet aswell!
Anyway, that's all I have to say. I know this video is about music, and here I am spitting paragraphs on how good Sumeru is 😂😂 Im a Nahida main, so maybe that's part of it too, lol😅😅

    • @25857470
      @25857470 Месяц назад +1

always nice to see another Aranara quest enjoyer! Also talking about sumeru and that quest, almost no one talks about it but remember the ost in the withering zones?? It was so goood, as soon as you stepped in one it changed the whole vibe and matched with the visuals so well. Also the banger which plays when we are fighting the avatar of the Marana in the Aranyaka finale. It was nothing like what we have heard before since it sounded otherworldly/alien esque but at the same time rooted to sumeru cuz of the Bansuri (flute), Sitar and percussions used for it.
Oh and also since you mentioned you're a nahida main, it reminded me of her teaser's ost. Nahida's and Raiden's teaser are my fav among the character teasers.

genshin's ost discography is hands down the best part of the game for me. i started listening to the music way before i even started playing the game. it's so immersive, adds so much to the game, and like you said does a ton of heavy lifting in shaping the identities of the characters. it's emotional and beautiful and super motivating. i may or may not listen to zhongli, alhaitham, and cyno's osts when i work out....

It gives so much life and atmosphere to the world your traveling in.
And I love the variety of traditions and culture in each of these regions
Monstadt feels like entering an enchanted fairytale world.
Liyue has such a peaceful and heartwarming tone of excitement.
Inazuma has this unique atmosphere of a strange and unfamiliar region that any danger could easily come in any moment.
Sumeru felt like a huge and grand caravan of vast jungles and deserts ready to be discovered.
And Fontaine has such an elegant and classical feel and shows how advanced this region is.
Makes me really excited what Natlan has in store with their potential Spanish and Native American feel

Genshin Impact, to me, was also an adventure game first than a gacha to me. I played it like I would play Zelda, Ghost of Tsushima and RDR2. I slowed down my paces, looked at all the scenery, listened to the music, the wind and the waters.
The gameplay may be subpar, but you cannot deny Hoyoverse's supreme art direction, world design, world building and of course, the MUSIC. Genshin may be the first game where i know almost every track and where it is associated with.
The music and world is what still grips me to this game. Teyvat is up there with Hyrule in BOTW, Tsushima from GoT, and the world of Shadow of the Colussus.

Anyway, Bran, thanks a LOT on making this video. I think Genshin music still didn't get enough appreciation it deserves. While people talk about it, it's mostly the last thing of the subject whenever people talk about this game.
Here is my personal ranking of my favorite Genshin OST best on region
    1) Li Yue
I'm a big fan of Chinese instrumental music, and Yu-Peng Chen totally nailed it with every single composition he made, especially the main Li Yue Harbour soundtrack which also the soundtrack used for the first Lantern Rite cutscene. The new Genshin music team has also done really well with the tracks they composed for Chenyu Vale. The first time I genuinely teared up to this game was mainly because of the soundtrack during the battle with Osial. That was also the moment Genshin become my favorite game. And also, Azdaha boss theme SLAP HARD
    2) Inazuma
Both Signora and Raiden Ei boss theme is unique and easily one of the greatest boss themes I have ever heard in my entire life
One of my favorite OST in this game is at this nation, titled "Kitsune Mask", or also known as Kamisato OST.
Enkanomiya soundtrack sound so different, and yet beautiful (also creepy sometimes)
    3) Sumeru
The OST "For Riddles, for Wonders" still hit hard every time I hear it. Port Ormos soundtrack have one of the most unique non battle soundtrack I've ever heard so far. One of the most calming OST also come from this nation of where the place Egeria rest titled "Maiden of Sanctity". Also, Scaramouche soundtrack is EPIC
    4) Fontaine
Remember that Focalor ost before the "sword" fell on her? Yeah, everytime Iisten to Fontaine main soundtrack, it reminded of that moment. The underwater soundtrack is also so also great and calming. Overall, Remuria OST is my fav in this nation after Focalor's cutscene OST.
    5) Mondstadt
Honestly, I really like Mondstadt soundtrack. It's still really good, but not my cup of tea. Though I must say, both Dvalin and Andrius boss OST is still the soundtrack I still hear on daily basis.
Natlan is near and base on the soundtrack I heard from the teaser, I am having a high hope that it's gonna be good.

Man, I already loved Fontaine's music, and then the Focalors execution scene happened with the rendition of the Court of Fontaine melody, and for weeks I got teary eyed every time I went to the city and that song played. The audacity of this game, I frickin love it

honestly? i wouldn't mind a video of bran just gushing about a topic for half an hour or more. it feels like chatting with your friend about something you're passionate about! i could listen to bran go on and on and on about every character ost individually and wouldn't mind 🤣

cant lie the music is what has kept me interested in genshin especially during sumeru when i stopped enjoying the game, like i genuinely didnt pay attention to any of the quests but i kept playing because it was nice to explore while listening to the ingame music and i knew fontaine would make me love the game again and omg i was so right, honestly the genshin osts carried me through revising for my exams there really is something special abt them

For me, Sumeru takes the character demo music crown while Fontaine takes the general crown. Le souvenir avec le crepuscule, the Fontaine theme itself, etc are definitely the best tracks in the game in my opinion. Honourable mention to the Konda village theme, it slaps too.

Sumeru’s “swirls of shamshir” battle ost is probably my single favorite song in the entire game. Sumeru is definitely peak music for me. I gotta give this to Fontaine though, I don’t think the music of any other region enhances the story the way Fontaine’s does. The ost is good on its own but there’s nothing like hearing the main theme when Focalors dies and Neuvilette’s theme directly after as he washes away the original sin. It felt like the music was tailored so well to each part of the story

They incorporated various types of music that create distinct atmospheres, enhancing the overall experience of the game. Both the BGMs and the character demo tracks are captivating, perfectly aligning with the characters. It makes me wonder if this is because great music has the power to evoke nostalgic memories.

I'm ngl, the entire reason I decided to play Genshin last year was because of the music. I had tried Star Rail and had stopped playing, but was looking for the Take a Journey song on RUclips music and stumbled upon Genshin's music. I've not regretted giving it a shot and sometimes just walk to places with my favorite OST songs to chill.

I particularly loved hearing about your first experiences in Mondstadt and the emotional impact (no pun intended) of Dragonspine's music. Your insights into how the music shapes the game's atmosphere and storytelling were spot on.
I can't wait to see what future OSTs will bring, and I'm grateful for the way you highlighted these masterpieces. Keep up the amazing work, and thank you again for this nostalgic and heartfelt trip!

For me, “this game is good” moment was when we fight the hilichurls near the lake cider after we see the dragon cutscene, there are two hilichurls near an apple tree.
“This game is it”, hit me when I was climbing the mountains in Liyue when above the sea of clouds started playing and you could see the sunset 🌅 with the orangy hues and the liyue, music, animations, vibes all matched. This is a comfort game for me to play at different stages of my life.

Bro Genshin's music was so moving that Bran grew legs just to give it a standing ovation.
Mine's pretty much the same as Bran's but Liyue scores higher than Inazuma because theres something about Liyue music thats calming and tranquil. Like the more you listen to it, the wiser you become.
