The best way to get good crimpers is to spend a lot more cash. You can tell the ones if got from ebay or aliExpress as they are at the back of the draw. My goto ones are second hand, but you have to hunt them down.
My Jaw's came with some bend Sheet Metal Parts. like: ali _ c0m _ item _ 32814375295 _ html The Thickness i meusared is 1mm, or maybe glueing a Washer on every side will work too.
The ferrules are really good for doing a proper job! Even for making very thin wires big enough to fir propertly into oversize connectors
Yeah I really like ferrules. Loos so much neater too!
“Reminder to self, stop buying 19 pin headers” LOL... yeah I have the same problem, but with Datron multimeters.
Guess what I received today!
@@DustinWatts Some 19 pin headers ?
I think we all have similar problems...
As far as I know, they are called Jaws even in the UK.
I thought it sounded right ;)

Very true. Very true for most tools. Just thought I'd give it a go.
fix the spacing with 3d printing?
M2.5 wow, horrid size :(
I used a washer, but a 3D printed part might also work.

I actually later tried a washer and that worked pretty well. Still think this could have been done better!
@@DustinWatts I was thinking adding a washer too
@@bwselectronic Still... I would rather have a part fit from the factory! :)
@@DustinWatts agreed
For ferules, the best crimpers are the ring type, with 4 (my preference) or 6 jaws all around. For example Amazon B00H950AK4
I have one of those in my cart as we speak! :)
