I'm at a loss of words to describe that game, particularly the ending. You'd lost your entire expensive air force and could barely keep up but they decided not to go head to head against you after that failed base attack, what a game.
Grubby has built an army (hippo riders, chimeras) that were already countered by what the orc had (a lot of headhunters). Meaning he takes more damage and deals less to them. The ideal counter would have been some kind of melee units like bears and mountain giants. Spice it up with archers for backline damage and efficiency against casters and totems. They are also fine against range units.
This guy was so decided to not sacrifice his army, Grubby LITERALLY had to destroy every and each one of his buildings, forcing a defeat, and he was uselessly trying to do the same...

hey grubby, could you maybe do a teir list of a races units from time to time? it would be a good way to hear your thoughts on their strengths and weaknesses, like are HH comparable to archer, and does getting berzerker make them a t3 unit like hippo riders
What is that FREEWSB anyway? Glad Grubby managed to pull out a win for this. My thoughts on army composition (since you asked): NOT Hippogryph Riders -- they just die too fast to Berserkers or Bats (if opponent had been smart enough to make these). Archer + Mountain Giants + Chimaeras would be better, with a couple of Bears for Roar and Rejuvenate (but be careful of hungry Kodo Beasts, and be careful of your own unfriendly Chimaera splash.) Demon Hunter is fine, and Priestess of the Moon's Scouting Owls were very good, but something else is needed. Panda might have a hard time overcoming Shadow Hunter's Healwave, but Pit Lord would make those Berserkers a lot less scary and would do a fair amount of damage with his own Cleaving Attack, and his Ultimate is really good too if your opponent DOESN'T have heavy Magic Damage air to kill the Doomguard -- and Orc doesn't.
'What should have been my army composition vs HH/Caster/Kodo triple hero?' Maybe anything that is NOT hippo riders would have done better.. :) Great perseverance.. soom Moon Twisted Meadow vibes with the mass expos all across the map. Btw, is it worth min/maxing the tomes you get from creeps - i thought the manual of health he got around 24-25 minutes should've gone to dh since dh gets more value for every point of health he has compared to potm. Or does it just not matter that much?

Why go chimaeras + riders against orc hoarding berserkers? Wouldn't tauren be a better option? Heavy armor and Normal attack does better against Medium armor + Pierce than Light + Magic / Pierce, no?

Iv stopped playing for like 10 years now. But somehow youtube algorithm has been commending me a bunch of grubbys wc3 videos… think i might get back playing again. 😂
So glad that in the end Grubby ruled supreme. But I also had the very stronk impression that this guy dragged Grubby down to his level and nearly beat him there. Grubby imho played a really subpar game in many aspects compared to other high octane matches of him where he shines way more with experienced maneuvers and quick witted decisions. This game... such one dimensional army, no staff purchases, way too late boots of speed for DH, ult usage in places enemy could just run away, bad chimaera usage (rather throw them in HH/blademaster meatgrinder) instead of letting them swoop in for enemy expo and either kill it or lurk just outside range and hold enemy hostage on one place on map!?)... well this is just my unprofessional impression. Still a lot of good plays obviously else he wouldn't have won. POTM owl scout so valuable since NE really has vision issues otherwise. Also awesome creep spread, really liked that most about this game.
I'm not a wc3 player but everytime ive seen his army i thought it's like 80+, but it was actually 61-70. That army is huge with such a low resource penalty. Sadge

I thought WSB felt quite overwhelming in this match against your units once he built up all those headhunters but dang, when you see it from his perspective in the match, you were the one who felt extremely oppressive while also feeling like a cockroach who wouldn't die even after destroying your camps multiple times. very very good match. it felt slightly short on the ending considering how he got defeated after losing all buildings tho, lol
I don't get why he's so insistent on hippo archers and chimeras when facing orcs lately. Man, the enemy has the world population in troll berserkers and will destroy your army and base a lot faster than you'll take down his army or bases with your 30 food flying peashooter squad. Make some bears! Some dryads! A mountain giant or two!

The things Grubby can do with a 30 food army.
Double ring of protection and Evasion on DH helped a lot I think.
I recently saw the game where he only used a single demon hunter the entire game….
@plasmathunderdx the ammount of moon wells you get while not building units sure helps.
You're also never giving army XP to the enemy.
The resilience of a true professional player against a non-pro is insane.

Letting the main get starfalled was an objective mistake for orc, just tp on top, hex and stomp
