@@jrshaul True, sometimes you do a work and don't actually got to know how people really like your work for quite a long time. It reminds me of the VA for The Lich in Adventure Time. He said in an interview that he didn't remembered this caracter by name, actually he did not remembered him at all.

Scout saying "Move it Cyclops! Move!" Is a fair bit difficult for Medic's voice Also screaming "⚠️ INTRUDER ALERT! ⚠️ A RED SPY ⚠️ IS IN THE BASE! ⚠️" Is _completely_ out of character for Spy
Reminded me of an old ventriloquist named Senor Wences that was famous for something similar. Was amazing to hear him go from speaking as himself, to voicing a puppet, to mimicking the voice on the other end of a telephone and back quickly. Amazing what some vocal artists can do.
Met this man at a convention. Kindest man, very optimistic, really kindled my dream of becoming a voice actor. I’ve never met someone so full of passion for what they do.
The tf2 characters look like their voices. The first time I played tf2, I instantly knew which voice lines belonged to which character. I don't think there could've been a better voice cast.
Gary honestly has the most terrific and humble personality, along with the accolade of having voiced one of the most iconic video game characters. Genuinely a fan of his.
I love how he descrives this because when i voice my characters for dnd and other projects i get a feel from how they look and the voice comes from that.
the way he flows between heavy and his normal voice so naturally it sounds like he's being taken over you can tell he really feels and owns the character its incredible he's still got it, man, valve has no excuse to not hire him (and the others) for even more voice lines
I like the "feel like your character" explanation. I would do something similar when drawing doodles in highschool (using myself for reference to anatomy and exaggerated faces) , and I think I also remember an animator for Spongebob saying that they make faces to help draw the expressions for characters like Plankton.
Considering one of demoman's voicelines was "You think you're better than me? Drunk Gibberish*" and he kinda referenced it now shows that he still nails it.

I love that the TF2 voice actors are more present online nowadays than before.
I think they're pleasantly surprised we're all such big fans. A lot of the kids playing this game weren't born when they recorded the lines.
