@@vankisha EA offered to buy valve back in 2012 for 1 billion dollars, thankfully Gabe Newell, declined and said "Valve would rather disintegrate, than to ever sell out"
I've just realised that what Valve did with this game's lore (especially comics) was one of a kind, at least for me. It's the first time a character from my country isn't just a walking stereotype, but feels like an actual human, with feelings. That sniff he does between "maybe"s is worth a thousand words. I don't care what Valve did with DotA or CS, it will forever remain my favourite game company just for this one character.
Yeah, I’m American and I hate how every Russian character is just a stereotype as well. Especially since I’m trying to learn Russian and I keep getting memed for it
@@wolfetteplays8894 that’s only mainly Glasgow which is a shithole, but Scots get a bit of the alcoholism stereotype too. But you’re right we do get most of the stereotype
@@noah3038 it's bad mostly because tf2's story is very detailed and original, like every valve game (maybe l4d is a little cliche, but not so much,it's very original too)
I love how hes portrayed as the dumbest character in the series, aside from maybe soldier, yet you can clearly tell hes a smart guy hes just a man of few words.
Fun fact: The Heavy's gun is named Sasha, which means Alexander, or Alexandra in Russian. The name means "defender of men", and the Heavy is a defense class.
Further fact: It's also a common nickname for Nata(c)sha (which is also the name of one of Heavy's other miniguns), which roughly translates to "birthday," "Christmas," or "gift."
I don't wanna break it to you but as a greek (the name Alexander is Greek) I have to. Alexander combines Alex ( roughly translates to prosecutor) and "andras" (Ander) which means man. So essentially the name of the gun means that it is prosecuting men.
Actually, technically, adjusting for inflation, he would be able to fire Sasha for _10_ days straight. Which is still 9 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes and 48 seconds longer than anyone has any business firing Sasha for.
It’s weird how incredibly calm and intelligent he is throughout this entire video. Honestly while he’s nowhere near has smart as the medic or engi he’s one of the most intelligent mercs of the group.

It's been 15 years, the internet has yet to outsmart bullet.
Especially since I’m trying to learn Russian and I keep getting memed for it
And then there’s the Scot who’s a total alcoholic
@@grandma650 it’s the Irish that are stereotypes as the alcoholics, to be fair. Scots are stereotyped as junkies. So not really too bad there.
@@wolfetteplays8894 that’s only mainly Glasgow which is a shithole, but Scots get a bit of the alcoholism stereotype too. But you’re right we do get most of the stereotype
He's not a stereotype???
You guys don't understand how HYPE it was each time a new "Meet the" video was released
Brother I’m still hyped I just go back and rewatch them when I’m in the mood
Well I wish to know
I was most excited for meet the medic and pyro since they came out years late
Ah yea old days.......
i had no idea it was even a game back then
Somethings telling me that he’s a heavy weapons guy....
Me too but its probably nothing
Maybe he his but I guess he might be the light weapons guy
I thought he was medium weapons guy
And something tells me that the heavy minigun he carried are his weapon
Nah, he's the heavy furniture guy.
HI GUYS!
WELCOME TO THE START OF THE STORY!
A story by Valve that has an ending!
Fun fact: Medic is the only one on his team Heavy likes and has actual conversations with him.
That's because he's the one that can outsmart bullets
What about engineer
is it cause he the most favorable class to heal as medic?
that's kinda sad bro...
"Engineer is credit to team" maybe idk
Overwatch: Detailed backstory with overwatch fans crying about it.
TF2: "I'm heavy weapons guy"
dang i know its a joke but very true
Overwatch, detailed and story in the same sentence? You're crazy
@@dubhog i guess your right I lost interest midway through the movie.
@@noah3038 it's bad mostly because tf2's story is very detailed and original, like every valve game (maybe l4d is a little cliche, but not so much,it's very original too)
@@dubhog that's very true i dont see overwatch releasing comics.

1:14 T-Posing Sniper
I love how hes portrayed as the dumbest character in the series, aside from maybe soldier, yet you can clearly tell hes a smart guy hes just a man of few words.
And those are the kinds of people you have to watch out for, you never know when it will be your last
At least that's my perspective
He has a phd

@@I-am-invisiblewhat about Engineer?

Sure one of the best
Nah.. pyro is better

Fun fact:
The Heavy's gun is named Sasha, which means Alexander, or Alexandra in Russian. The name means "defender of men", and the Heavy is a defense class.
GODDAMN
NOW THAT'S what I'm talking about!
Further fact:
It's also a common nickname for Nata(c)sha (which is also the name of one of Heavy's other miniguns), which roughly translates to "birthday," "Christmas," or "gift."
I don't wanna break it to you but as a greek (the name Alexander is Greek) I have to. Alexander combines Alex ( roughly translates to prosecutor) and "andras" (Ander) which means man. So essentially the name of the gun means that it is prosecuting men.
@@np-captain6318 yet this is the russian meaning, heavy is russian
even in 2024, he is still heavy weapons guy.
and that... is still his weapon

Four hundred thousand dollars.
Fun fact, Elon Musk with his current networth of 264 Billion could fire Sasha for abour 91 days straight
Barrel broke before the wallet 😂
That number would be less counting inflation
Nice
Holy crap
Actually, technically, adjusting for inflation, he would be able to fire Sasha for _10_ days straight.
Which is still 9 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes and 48 seconds longer than anyone has any business firing Sasha for.
It’s weird how incredibly calm and intelligent he is throughout this entire video. Honestly while he’s nowhere near has smart as the medic or engi he’s one of the most intelligent mercs of the group.
Of course he’s smart! He chose a weapon that spews out enough bullets in 12 seconds to buy a house!
he actually have a PhD in Russian literature
Check the Russian version of this intro sometime. He's a /lot/ smarter than he sounds in English, mostly because we've been conditioned to equate a thick Russian accent with "dumb muscle".
Heavy has 3 PhD's in Russian literature
Engineer has 11 PhD's in science
and Medic is a genius maniac who lost his medical license
I’m pretty sure he is the smartest unlike medic he actually has a PHD

Yes it is
The fact that it comes right on the heels of an absolutely terrifying one-liner (“I have yet to meet one that can outsmart bullet”) is what makes it so powerful. He clearly puts his money where his mouth is.

Well, here comes the fact, that you didn't probably noticed.
Heavy says that he didn't met anyone who can outsmart the bullet. This is actually a reference to the Russian phrase ,,on the battlefield, the dumbest is the bullet", and Heavy has a PhD in Russian Literature. He's basically saying that his enemies are more dumb than the bullet.
Omg, you know more than russian like me
@Solo UnU suario yesh
I mean... blue soldier exists
I'm pretty sure the entire phrase is basically that a bayonet was better that a bullet because of the bad accuracy of muskets.
the fact that he has a PhD isn't canon (i dont think it is anyway) but yeah heavy is cool as shit
The lip smack at 1:01 is my favorite part of this.
