I was a homeless alcoholic and the Lord sent me to a Pentecostal church, the love that I found there from the saints in the church brought me back to Jesus. He has held my hand, guided me and chopped the wrong things out of my life. At the age of 57 he guided me to a Christian college, he held my hand through my studies, I wanted to quit he sent people to convince me to stay. At the age of 58 I'm working and living many miles away from my hometown and working as a support worker for people that have been homeless, he holds my hand and gives me words every day. I burst out in tears listening to this song, it hit a chord with me as to how much he has done and is doing in my life. Praise the Lord.

This song brought me back to God. I wasn't expecting it either but he made himself very clear to me in the car. I started singing this song just because I knew it. The Lord saw His opportunity as if He said, "alright here's my opening". His overwhelming presence filled the car and completely took my breath away. The voice of the Lord spoke in my spirit, "Can you deny me now? Can you say I'm not real now?". In that moment I'm taken off my feet and start saying, "I have so many questions and nothing of this makes any sense" and the Lord said "We will take care of that later, Just come home.". I broke down completely. But his spirit blanketed me and it was so warm and filling. My eyes are welling just recounting the story. It was power that I've never experienced. Edit in Oct. 2022. Ive seen some responses asking how its been since this post. Today I am proudly married to a beautiful apostolic wife with two adorable little girls. My wife and I are heavily involved in the works of God. I am heading a ministry in the drug rehabilitation community, and in music. She is an awesome director of sign ministry and leads our youth through worship. We both work the altar speaking faith and healing, laying on holy hands. We are witnessing our community grow in Christ and are so excited to see what The Lord has in store for us. Please keep us in your prayers as we seek His wisdom for the future. God bless you.

My dad used to sing this song when I was growing up. He was a very proud former Marine who had been raised in a Christian home but didn't think he needed God to be a real man. It took some very serious events in his life to bring him literally to his knees, begging Jesus for help and strength, when he was nearly 40. From then on he's been one of the Godliest men I've ever known, in the truest sense. I wish I could find another like him, but they just don't make them like that anymore. Parkinsons has robbed his beautiful voice, but I can still hear him singing this amazing song that he swore was written just for him.
Great comment, it seems that the old values, and morals that we thought would always be there seem to be slipping away. But. Each one of us can strive to do better, and do good, and help show others, and the world that it can be a better place here on Earth, if each of us try. We can make a difference.

Same!!! I’m almost 4 years clean and I know there’s a god. I dabbled with metaphysical shenanigans and Buddhism for a few years in my recovery but something is missing... I started listening to the Bible last week and I already feel more at peace. So I’m open minded for sure and my heart is starting to pry open ever so slightly... how are you doing now?

I had a mean uncle. Like the drunk, physically, emotionally abusive kind of mean. For decades, he terrorized my aunt and cousins. He went in for open heart surgery, and some of his last words before going in were to curse God and to tell my aunt not to pray for him. Well, she and our family did anyway, lol. He came out a different man. Idk exactly what happened, but he met Jesus on that operating table, and the mean, drunk uncle that used to beat my aunt was now the gentle, loving man who would lead the choir. He was a new creature, supernaturally changed. I only remember the sweet man who would hug me and loved to tell the story of how his dear Jesus changed him from a brute to a lamb. I’ll see hi again someday.

You know, it's funny how the Lord will speak to you sometimes and remind you of something. You wrote this 4 years ago, and I got reborn this past year. This week, my family had some turmoil, and I've had 2 Timothy 3 v5 on my mind all week. And I decided that I'll just sit back and let the Lord work. The old me, well, I would have been down in the mud and the muck with everyone in the situation, but the new me, I just feel a peace. Praise the Lord. I was sitting in church earlier tonight, right before the service, and I decided to play this song and listen to it through my earbuds while waiting for the service to start. I've heard this song many times (I just love this version and the way Jamie sings it), but I just happened to notice this comment. how can anyone survive this life without Jesus, I Love Him so much. I lost my mother when was 11, he made my life so do able. He has answered my prayers, if I needed advice all I had do was ask and open my bible and the answer would be there in front of me. thank god we have a living and loving Christ, sinner man or woman drop to you knees, he will save you and show you the path and most important will always be with you. just a prayer away. he can take your drug addiction away or any sin away, it will be hidden and forgiven. if you haven't ever saw the power of god, he wants you to ask and confess your sins, he will save you. if you aren't saved please invite god in your life, I look forward to meeting you in heaven. please do this, god loves and wants you so bad, you wont worry about what's going on in this world and god will provide for your needs. trust me Paul said he was the chief of all sinners, I know was second in line, if he can save and forgive me, will do the same for you. please pray for our country and me. will do the same, praise God's Holy Name. May 22 if this year, I was able to leave my wheelchair. The fear was great, but the joy was greater. This song was on repeat in my head as I was learning to use those muscles. Thank you, and thanks for a woman singing it. It means a lot .

Many people in today's society don't understand the purpose of Gospel. We all have to learn lessons in this life. I certainly learned mine the very HARD way. God taught me to NEVER ever turn my back on Him again. While God took everything I lived for away, He restored me to a place that I never thought I'd enter. That was many a year ago. I was left with something to remind me. Lesson learned. You know, it's funny how the Lord will speak to you sometimes and remind you of something. You wrote this 4 years ago, and I got reborn this past year. This week, my family had some turmoil, and I've had 2 Timothy 3 v5 on my mind all week. And I decided that I'll just sit back and let the Lord work. The old me, well, I would have been down in the mud and the muck with everyone in the situation, but the new me, I just feel a peace. Praise the Lord. I was sitting in church earlier tonight, right before the service, and I decided to play this song and listen to it through my earbuds while waiting for the service to start. I've heard this song many times (I just love this version and the way Jamie sings it), but I just happened to notice this comment. It's so true (your comment), and it's been evident to me in so many ways this week. Praise Jesus! God bless you and yours!

We all have to learn lessons in this life. I certainly learned mine the very HARD way. God taught me to NEVER ever turn my back on Him again. While God took everything I lived for away, He restored me to a place that I never thought I'd enter. That was many a year ago. I was left with something to remind me. Lesson learned. Thank you Lord for your blessings on me.

They are taking songs that most every person that loves Southern Gospel Music has heard a million times and brought each song back to how it may have sounded when originally sung and into the future at the same time.
