I'm so confused, what would it hurt her to show some compassion and call the family and give condolences? It seems her heart is hard. That's sad.

The mayor of DC is so full of it. That's why I didn't vote for her. She has no sympathy for black family or black people. We need another mayor. That's for all people, and that's not her. 😮
Agreed! Black people need to stop voting for color and vote for the policies that will positively align with their lives. This ought to be a lesson to the community, just because someone is the same color as you doesn't mean that they are for you, and Bowser has proven that along with many other so-called black mayors in the US.

Im saddened by how Browser has allowed the youth to terrorize the city by not holding them accountable and handing out slaps on the wrists. Definitely not surprised by her response of course she won't meeting with him. He's not a developer or team owner.

Muriel is a mean and surly individual. Believe me, I know her and live in Ward 4 DC. Hopefully none of her loves ones aren't gun down in the District. If so, she will maybe understand what this father and other black parents in D.C. felt losing their children to gun violence.

It's her job it's not about her being black. Bowser sucks at compassion and basic decorum. And I'm black so please put your race card away
Her stance: I'll talk to the families of the victims of violence regarding their loved one's cases before I talk to the media regarding the victims' cases. However, I'm not speaking to that particular family. Although, if I did, I wouldn't tell the media what was said.
Perhaps the logic is that the police chief needs to take the lead on these issues, and she simply doesn't have time to speak to all of the families impacted by violence. However, the delivery is cold; this stance that might be based in valuing productivity and sticking to a schedule over the optics of appearing accessible for likability. Unfortunately, it might impact her at the polls. It seems she's more annoyed with the media for making this a mayoral issue rather than turning to Chief of Police who ought to be at the helm of all investigations.
Muriel is holding up progress. She enjoys the tittle but has gone stale on many issues.
The ultra liberal constituency in Washington DC , heavily democratic, has no compelling reason to complain about Bowser who loves to be identified more as an BLM and LGBTQ activist than carrying out her duties to keep the city safe, because what you get is what you voted for.
She always dancing in the videos if it was the capital one Arena or Chinatown and dealing with money she acts like a female uncle tom tap dancing you the mayor of a major city show some Compassion for a family that lost three sons
