Cassie starting smiling less and less frequently saying ''wow'' and ''that's so cool'' the more the series developed. Depression and adulthood really changed her
I don't know that depression or adulthood were what did it. I think having people that gave a shit in her life did. It's so much easier to dissociate when you don't have such forceful reminders of reality all around you. And I think early Cassie was dissociated from reality. Now, is that bad or good? Hard to say. It's certainly real, but there's something to be said for being able to check out.
Yet watching S7/ Pure felt so soft and reassuring to me.. Really true to her (so glad they went in this direction with S7 tbh). Like she was free to just live and float for a while; and we did see this grounded, caring-but-less-overwhelmed side of her emerge to take care of her family.

Izzy Jolee I would say, in his defence, I’m not sure what someone could or would say in that situation. I mean, it’s a bit awkward and it’s not like it’s actually his fault that she didn’t eat. She liked to find reasons to blame her anorexia on other people but she even admitted herself, in her episode in the second season when she’s taking her make up philosophy exam, that she did it because it made her feel like she had power. I think Sid did care to some degree but at least initially he was physically interested in someone else and didn’t necessarily realise how his words and actions were affecting her (which is fair because how could anyone truly know how they affect others at times especially when he’d never intentionally done anything nasty or malicious to her so he wouldn’t have thought that he had hurt her).
It's because of this scene I always pay attention to what someone's eating incredibly intelligent and beautiful perspective in how people fool one another into thinking they are ok. Things like this happen all the time across a whole range of troubles. The sad reality is we are too busy trying to convince other people we are ok to really pick up on their own problems. shame
her technique was one I know people do, but I only eat when my parents are in front of me, and I use excuses like I already ate, so not everyone with anorexia will do it like this, obviously, but its also caused me to look to see if anyone might, as its more obvious. That face at 4:13. She looks so proud of herself for fooling her parents and friends about her eating disorder and that’s just really sad to me. On some level this is a game to her. It’s such a self-destructive mindset.
I somehow missed ep 1 when it first came out in 2007 so this was the first one I saw and yes I thought it was great instantly. I still remember the bus trip with everyone round her eating and the post it note she sticks to the window.
It's funny how you change your views on characters. I hated Jal at the time, so moody. Now I appreciate more how ridiculously hard it would be for her with that family she has.

The way a mental illness affects your mind is dangerous and a devil circle. I don't know how you personally can get rid of those behaviors but I wish you will become better. Trust me, you are worth a life, not only existing. Try to find out what let you think you don't deserve certain foods. There is always something EDs want to show you. Fat does NOT mean HEALTHY.
To be HEALTHY you have to TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY by GIVING IT WHAT IT NEEDS TO WORK PROPERLY.
Hope that helps someone. To everyone fighting their own demons... you can fight this!! I believe in you!!
That's so true, we let our body image deceive us, when the important thing is how we feel inside with the things we eat. Thanks for this.
There's no perfect rule but I'd say whatever your age try to drink lots of water, sleep 8 hours per day, eat 5 portions of fruit and veg, eat a balanced diet. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, junk food, cigarettes.... Recipe for a long healthy life hopefully.
Posh Kenneth is from Get Out, Black Mirror, and Black Panther
Anwar is from Slumdog Millionaire and Lion
Chris and Cassie play in Game of Thrones
Tony plays in Mad Max, X-men, and Tolkien
It is incredible when you see them before rising superstars as these 17 year-olds playing in comedy show in Bristol
Oh and dont for get Anwar from the last airbender as zuko 💀
maxxie's laugh snskls he's literally the sweetest of boys sklqjs
he’s the sweetest and the most unproblematic boy in s1🤩
That face at 4:13. She looks so proud of herself for fooling her parents and friends about her eating disorder and that’s just really sad to me. On some level this is a game to her. It’s such a self-destructive mindset.
Don't blame her, except for the chips that lunch looks disgusting.
werdninja1
why?
so you’ve never had british school food huh
I’m guessing your not British
it looks like garbage, would probs eat that
@bb love it’s a British tv show love 😘 that’s what British people eat love 😘
oh yeah cas you are totally better now
I love Cassie such a beautiful human ;(
Great acting, I love Sid and Cassie. They were my favorite couple in generation 1&2
That face at 3:03 though
2:44 I'm always gonna love that "oh totally" 😍
Sid is my favourite character
me toooooo
He makes the most sense of all the characters
one of the best scenes in the whole series
I love Cassie :)
I liked Cassie and Sid.. I miss this couple. I miss all generations of Skins.
This is literally my fav scene in the whole episode
If someone messed with my food like I'd be proper pissed and would probably cry.
I held my food so close watching this 😱😱
Lol, fatty
She is such a brilliant actress i love her so much
I love Cassie soo much!!
I love this. The characters, the acting, the message, everything
It's like the best scene from Skins!
A bunch of people say "I found Cassie weird at first" or just "she's weird" but I never found her weird. I guess I relate to her a lot
I somehow missed ep 1 when it first came out in 2007 so this was the first one I saw and yes I thought it was great instantly. I still remember the bus trip with everyone round her eating and the post it note she sticks to the window.
4.28 that acting is amazing 👏
Omg two people from skins are in GOT! I never recognized them until now 😭
Jade Ramirez same with Kaya who plays effy she was in that new ted bundy movie
Such a powerful scene
It's nobody'sfucking buisness.
For 6 years I saved this video on a playlist that triggers me with my ED, and today is the last day I'm watching it. I'm done with this desease.
When Cassie says “you see it’s like nobody’s fucking business” I felt that
it’s so funny how no one can understand kenneth and now it’s every london and toronto mans
When I was a teenager, Effy was my favorite. Now I’m in my 20s and Cassie is my favorite
It's funny how you change your views on characters. I hated Jal at the time, so moody. Now I appreciate more how ridiculously hard it would be for her with that family she has.
Cassie made skins for me, I couldn't stand half the other characters.
Cassie and Chris, Chris was a legend.
I started watching this when I was 14,15,I didn’t understand there problems and the plots tbh,it wasn’t until years later that I finally understood it all, damn good show
0:32 0:45 literally everyone in the UK after the sugar tax lmaoo
This is the first time that I'm seeing Cassie and my heart is just breaking.
no one:
literally no one:
cassie: woooOw WooOOow uooouuu о.0
right off the bat cassie became mt most relatable character lmao. i say/said 'oh wow' too much as well haha
Came back to this and realized how ridiculously good the acting was.
She is weird but my favorite.
when sid says '' I care '' I literally cry because , , omg.
when i was a teen fighting my own ED I used this form of diversion. Its good to show some light on it
that's actually sad when she looks so surprised when he says he cares
I'm this nuts with my cooking - "Oh, yeah, There IS meat in it! Oh, of course I used oil to steam my veggies! Sure there IS milk in my banana smoothie! Yeah, there's salt in it OF COURSE!" I'm the best liar ever when I cook for myself
They are a way to deal with problems, to control a thing in your life.
My favorite scene from my favorite episode.
Man, so many emotions when I watch this.
