This video is so on point. I bought an M1 iPad a year ago for school and studying etc but a year later I’m really regretting it writing on the iPad is so painful tbh and I’d honestly rather write on paper or type really wish I can get the new air in a year or two
Sorry to hear that! Its absolutely a preference thing, a lot of people (like myself) find typing more efficient! If I could recommend an iPad it would definitely be the air as it’s not too expensive and is basically the same as the pro
From what I got from this video, as someone who used the M1 iPad Pro in Sixth From for notetaking, and am deciding between a Macbook Air and a Windows Laptop - was that as a student, your priority should be to buy a Macbook/laptop first then an iPad if you feel like you need it. As someone planning to start a degree in engineering this autumn, I feel the ability to handwrite notes will be super valuable, as, I mean, just try to type out some basic calculus/algebra on a keyboard, you'll see what I'll mean. If you are doing a maths based degree, I'd likely recommend getting an iPad of some kind, laptop first, 100% as this video conveys, then an iPad mini, iPad Air or iPad Pro depending on your use case, having used an older generation iPad Pro with the gen 1 pencil, I'd say moving up to the gen 2 pencil is worth it - likely go for a 2018-2020 iPad Pro, which are likely around 400 pounds at this time? they have plenty power for most students, only problems being the M1 exclusive features like Stage Manager - but even these I wouldn't worry about as they aren't exactly super streamlined yet. TLDR: Get a laptop first, then an iPad - even more so for maths based courses, try get an iPad that supports a Gen 2 Apple Pencil, the quality of life benefits are worth it imo.
The quality and the editing effort you keep is just amazing. It would be pretty fantastic if you could maybe make a serious one how to record high quality and edit it as fluid as you.
That’s very kind! Maybe one day I’ll give and insight into my editing workflow. Camera wise I’m using the Sony a6400 with the sigma 16mm f1.4 lens. Microphone is the tonor tc-2030
I think it’s all personal preference and budget. If you can afford both then go for it because something I forgot to mention is that you can use your iPad as a second monitor for your Mac, and I use that feature ALL the time when out studying away from my desk setup, it’s a very cool feature. Personally I get more use out of my MacBook than my iPad but that’s mainly to do with my workflow and sidehustles. I know other medics who use iPad only and have no issues, so it’s all down to preference.
The most realistic down to earth piece about the iPad and medicine. I’m currently a full time iPad Pro 2018 user and I know the feels! Also, the files app is definitely garbage 😂
Great question, again it depends on your usage, preference and budget. Personally I get lots of use out of the Mac because of my work video editing but everyone is different! Good luck :)

Really enjoyed reading through this! Really valuable comment and covers a lot of things I didn’t mention! Appreciate it!!
I don't understand how you got away with using Feels as your background music lol. Great song btw.
Haha the sped up version isn’t copyrighted! Good spot ;)

On point! Your Doctor's handwriting exploded the iPad.
Has to be!!
I am starting my med school next year, do I get the Mac or the iPad with the Pencil or maybe both? Great video by the way.

Hahaha 100% agree!! Files needs a serious update
@@JohnIsCool I’m actually considering a MacBook more since my iPad won’t get stage manager and files seems like it won’t get an update till years lol
Honestly I’d say go for it. The new MacBooks are lightning quick
@@JohnIsCool I keep hearing it but I need to actually experience it 🥹🫣

As someone with the 2016 MacBook Pro 13 inch, would you suggest I replace it with a newer model or get an iPad?

If ur mac overheats and slows down like mine yeah u should upgrade
