  • From the back catalogue of videos I filmed and edited with Will Raison.
Filmed in 2013 Champion angler Will Raison is back on the Syndicate Lake at Gold Valley on a wet and very windy late Autumn day to take a look at his latest approach to method feeder fishing. He reveals the awesome 'hinge rig' he has been bagging on, a rig that presents pop-up boilies perfectly. He also covers the groundbaits and alternative hook baits to use.

Creators note March 2024 : You may know that I shot and edited the Will Raison Fishing videos that were published by V2V Angling Productions but illness (I have a rare form of blood cancer) brought me to a point where a few years ago I could not continue making them. As the copyright owner of these productions I believe they are still packed with good info and advice even if they are somewhat dated now. Therefore I am slowly adding the back catalogue to this platform. Kind regards Brian Gay.

Maybe a drilled, floating dog biscuit would also work ? They come in different colours like pink, yellow (ish) and Much cheaper than "Pop Up" Boilies + the Meaty Smell !!

Micro snowman rig is good for the method.

..For me, The pop-up looks too far away from the method and a little too high in the water, because the whole idea is for the fish to find the pellet/groundbait and suck the whole thing in in one. To me, the fish has the choice to ignore the hook-bait and just eat the pellets, but the next time I go fishing,I'll give it a go because it's always nice to have something new in your armoury to use if all other methods fail. I love Gold valley by the way. Been going there for years..!!

Well the fish might go for the groundbait or pellets but the whole reason Will suggested this video subject was because he been doing very well with it as shown. That said fishing is always evolving, with rigs and baits refining. Experimentation to find what works for you is a good thing.
