It is an inexpensive tablet for people who do not have a ton of money to spend on a high end tablet or computer. It will play video and you can go online and watch youtube on it...does it have to be a high end machine to do that? My Mom bought one when her computer quit and she is happy with it. It is portable and she does not have a big mess of stuff taking up a corner in her room. I have an expensive desktop I use for work and a middle of the road laptop I use for school and work. I could not do the things I do on a tablet but I have one with about the same specs as this and it is fine for watching a movie or reading or general surfing online. In fact the one I have is a refurb, it is a name brand and it does not work as well as the RCA. So for anyone who is interested in one of these tablets they are fine and they work well. My Mom has had her's for about four months now with no problems...I would recommend it.

I ordered mine from Walmart an hour ago. So many high-star reviews and and it was time for me to bite. While extra RAM would be spiffy (1GB? That's not much, likely hurts multi-tasking). But RAM aside, I've wanted a 2-in-1 for a while, and it apparently works nicely. The keyboard is great with enough "movability". I'll likely get a powered USB adaptor so I can plug in a mouse without running out of ports. I plan to write, sketch, play some games and watch movies/streaming content and music (all say the speaker sucks but that's what headphones and receivers are for). This (at least tonight) was $79USD on Walmart.com . It even has HDMI output. Overall seems perfect for me. I'll install LibreOffice, hopefully a good free "sketch-pad"app (ideas?). Maybe see if MAME works...
Verdict: Pending until in hand, but looking to be surprised by its abilities. And I love paying $79 instead of hundreds or thousands so I can have the blasphemous Apple with a big bite taken out. I'll post again when I've got it (Friday).
The speaker is not that bad...as good or better than my laptop.
Larry Green right! It's not going to fill a room with "Live at Red Rocks" sound, but it works fine unless you've a medical hearing issue. One guy said his flopped after 3 (was it weeks or months?) but I don't have further details on his experience. For me: 1. It starts! Not crazy fast or slow. 2. I've played hours of RUclips and Netflix with twitter all running snappy, so my multi-tasking fears are toast! :)
3. The keyboard is why I bought it. It's included, durable (some may think too heavy, but heavy can be a good thing), the trackpad is very responsive- and typically stays out of my way when on a typing binge.
4. I could actually watch a movie on this huge screen. Is it 4K? No. 4k's already dead with 5k and 8k hitting by next fall. But this machine plays movies and videos on a big screen- no complaints.
5. 1 USB 2.0, 1 micro(mini?) USB, HDMI output, built in speaker (use a cord to a real stereo), headphone jack, built in mic, very little bloatware (it's 32GB- but after the OS and other more background stuff is loaded I still had 29GB.
6. MicroUSB expansion to 128GB! Run out? Buy another 128GB for $10-15.
7. Magnet holds keyboard tight. You can't crowd-surf at a Nails concert on it, but responsible users won't have to worry about it just falling off. If it lasts me 6-8 months, for the cost, I won't complain, but I feel, for my uses, it's gonna last me longer than that!
Walmart.com had them for $79+Tx, so in Michigan w/free delivery it was just under $84 and got it in 2 days.
Cardboard Box Is the tablet good for sketching?
It isn't good for sketching in my opinion. It isn't so much the lower screen resolution that's the limiting factor but the embedded digitizer has a low resolution/sensitivity.
Sketching with a finger is fine, but using a rubber-tipped stylus or a powered capacitive stylus (like the DotPen) results in the dreaded "stair-stepping" when drawing diagonal lines.
Absent that, it is quite a remarkable device for $80. I installed DoxBox on mine and was able to run a few vintage apps.

Have you tried to use the HDMI to project it on a big screen TV? Does it convert the signal to 1080i?
I LOVE mine. Sure, a *bit* pixelated at 1024x600, but for $79.00+Tx for a tablet with included keyboard, the slight pixelation doesn't bother me. I see your point about viewing angles- but if you're actually using it, it belongs for one user to be directly viewing. I've heard about and experienced some lag in backspacing, but not more than my wireless PC keyboard. For the price, it runs all Google's "Office-Ripoff" apps very well! As well as streaming HD videos, movies (the streaming has been Hi-def via my chromecast) and RUclips simultaneously

Good review. I like all the features but I guess the main thing I want to know does it have alot of storage space . I dont necessarily have to have all the gaming stuff I mainly want one just to type my stories.

Underground Tech, the resolution on the RCA Galileo Pro is lower than on last years RCA Maven Pro, which that tablets resolution is still better! The RCA Maven Pro is one you need to check out after your update video sometime at the end of February!

What's the max amount of sd card storage you can add
I just order this last night to replace my Amazon fire tablet (which kinda sucked if you were using it for anything other than reading but it was gift so I can't complain) and luckily the price was reduced so it was more affordable (my Total was $86) I don't mind the complaints you have for this tablet since all my previous tablets were rather cheap to begin with, hell the Amazon tablet had a dead pixel witch irrated the hell out of me and the previous one before that the display screen broke causing to glitch so this tablet doesn't have to do much to be better than the previous two but hopefully it's durable and nothing happens during shipping (I heard one story where this guy's laptop was stolen during the shipment process and some others where the product was damage) anyways I'll give a update on my personal experience with this tablet later.
Do you know how to bypass Google verification on Galileo pro? Or know where I can find that information?

Well, the 2nd time i turn the Tablet on it says pin number to unlock. Which I don't have??? I've called the office which is always closed. I've written in Facebook an have been ignored. I liked everything about this one except the screen. Which is kinda major :) It was just like a laptop but you can't see pictures on Instagram. I want to find one like it but with better resolution.
I had this tablet for 30 mins and took it back! Why? First the screen feels scratch and was hard to scroll on, even with a protective cover. Felt like grain or sandpaper.the icons apps show up really big and take up too much space. There was no video playing app already installed and I had to install one. I mainly use a tablet for watching videos. The screen really wouldn't go back and had to hit the home button. When I tried to watch a video in taller, a video player popped up and played the video but with no audio! Then when I connected it to the keyboard and it turn screen off, it never came back on and wouldn't reset for 10 min. So yeah that was my main problem. Mainly the screen. Who wants a sandpaper feel that hurts ur fingers and barely moves. Oh also the only browser on there is chrome so if us used to the old browser u won't find it. Other than that its fine.

i agree i got it last friday and so far it does everything from reading, gaming, and media the kindle fire is not a good tablet to get it runs out of space fast and freezes alot

Charles Hoffman basically a rom is a digital version of a game that can be played on an emulator (a digital version of a game console) let's say I want to play Chrono Trigger but I don't have the game or a snes. I can just download a snes emulator like Snes9x and a rom of the game to play (but it's not really legal. You have to own a copy of the game and I do)

I'm always amazed at how you folks who post videos of your purchases of low-end tablets, never cease to point out the flaws of the low-end tablets you all purchase. Why not go and purchase the $300-$500 tablets? It makes absolutely no sense to buy a low-end tablet, already knowing that the features aren't going to be nowhere as good as the high-end tablets! So basically, you folks can't afford the more expensive tablets so to make yourselves feel better you go and purchase the less-expensive tablets; why is that?
