I just bought this machine but even if I have some experience working a sewing machine I cannot identify which foot is used for which stitch. Also I can't find it anywhere neither on the Bernina website nor elsewhere on the net. Quite disappointing and frustrating to find such essential information is left out in the manual. Please, help me out here! Thank you
Thank you for this video! Do you think not being able to tell the machine to stop with the needle down is going to prove annoying? I'm considering this machine but that one issue might be a deal-breaker. Can you manually lower the needle after stopping and leave it down? Also, does varying the pressure on the foot control vary the speed or is it just 2 set speeds?
hello!!! youd have to use the handwheel! needle top down functionality is an electronic feature. i think if you look at one model up (b37) you should be fine :-) the academy is way more mechanical, and i think knowing that allows you to adjust your expectations. Foot control speed isnt adjustable. to be honest knowing your likes/dislikes from this comment i would recommend a BERNINA!
@@ccfulton22 Hey there! no there are only 2 speed settings and there is no link to speed based on how deep your push the pedal. the speed and pedal link is an advanced feature so you wont find it on basic models !
haha i prefer slightly quieter (biased views here because i am directly comparing with BERNINAs which are SUPER quiet)- that being said, its not too loud either !!
I found the fast too fast lol! I actually wanted a speed dial. How is it so slow?? Im curious to lmme what it sounds like-- could you send a video to @classicquiltsdxb on IG? I’ll revert back with ours to see if it matches
we tried the walking foot and the quarter inch foot and yes! So i am assuming yes to all others. Haven't physically tried it but once i do i will revert to his comment!
@@classicquiltsdxb981 Thank god! I was wondering if I could use a wondering foot for this, because it would have been a dealbreaker, if I couldn't. Now I know and I'll get this one!
@@lindao7887 Well dont be disappointed !! it thankfully isnt a huge price difference if you add a walking foot to it! hope your dealer has both in stock
@@classicquiltsdxb981 I already have machine with walking foot - was thinking of a gift for my niece but not sinking more money into a walking foot and last time I bought a walking foot it was over $50.00, that is relatively expensive to me when you're price comparing. But thanks for your input.
I bought this machine to use as a backup when my 750 went into service for 5weeks.love it.
Great to hear!
Enjoyed this video: I appreciated you pointing out the difference between the two machines. Thank you.
My absolute pleasure
This video helped me so much, thank you
Thank you, you've made an excellent review video. Great job!
Glad you enjoyed it!

wowza!!! that is SOLID feedback!!! i guess we will film one on how to use allllllllll the feet!!!!
@@classicquiltsdxb981 That would be great! Thanks
If you go to the bernette website, www.bernette.com , you can download the full manual that explains all the feet and all the stitches.
Utb:
"Bernett"
academy b05
Bernett not Bernina
Separate stuff.
Vids are
visually "universal"
No audio.

@@classicquiltsdxb981 so there's no way to make it slower by pressing on the foot pedal less?

Great job explaining how to use this machine! Now teach a basics lesson like threading a bobbin! Lol
haha yes lets work on that!
In your opinion. Is this machine a loud or quiet machine when in use

It is definitely louder than my750

Are the pressure feet from the b37 and 38 compatable with the b05?

@@mathildepoulsen4955 you know you can always test this in your store before you buy!
Whats difference between the crafter and the academy?
The crafter doesn't come with as many feet, it doesn't have the half speed switch, and doesn't have the extension table.
how kind of you to reply!!
I have been told that the crafter has a free arm, the academy does not.
@@kazkazzie3906 you can see the free arm on the academy at 23:27
No walking foot?????
Walking foot doesnt come with the machine. You can buy it as a separate accessory :-)

@@lindao7887 Absolutely! well, in my observation most machines do not come with a walking foot. but you only need that foot if you are sewing layers!
