The Waltz in E Minor was composed circa 1830, shortly before Chopin left Poland at the age of 20. Although this is the final (fourteenth) waltz in the older editions of Chopin, it is believed to have been composed before any of the waltzes published in Chopin's lifetime.
Dinu Lipatti (1917-1950) was a Romanian pianist and composer who died from cancer at the age of 33. Chopin Waltzes were recorded in the final year of his life.
